Robert, I love the GCB-95 wah after I modified it. I added four mini switches to switch the 33K vocal resistor to a 56K, the 0.01uf sweep cap to a 0.018uf, the 1.5K mid resistor to a 2.7K and the red Fasel to a yellow Fasel. I also cut the toe forward feet on the treadle off to get more sweep range on the treble side from the pedal. I have a buffer in the signal chain so there is no signal loss. I am currently working on another GCB-95 with four rotary switches to go through all the tonal ranges possible. The GCB-95 wah is the easiest wah to modify. I have modified a shit load of these over the years and sold them. Boring issue solved!

Robert the very worst pedal that was ever dropped in my Christmas stocking was without a doubt a Digitech Eric Clapton Crossroads!! The only good thing I could get out of that contraption was a…headache!! Woman tone…hell no!! I did sell it on eBay for $175.00 and got a positive feedback on it!! SCORE!! Love this video.. Yeah..I have the TS-9 and the Cry-Baby..but it does have a Bonamassa autograph on it!! Have a great Sunday my friend!!

Great recommendation on that Metal End pedal, only had it for a few days but it is quite versatile at a reasonable price. As I have mentioned before I like the clean to razor sharp stuff so this has been fun for Dokken's "Its not Love", Queens "Under Pressure" and Styx's "Suite Madame Blue" so far. I've got the Drip (at 50), Golden Plexi, Joyo wireless on your say so and all have been solid picks.

Hi ya Robert, I like your pedal feeds and like you I do like the quality of the Boss pedals and also their Waza line. Strymon is expensive as you mentioned although I do own one on my board, it’s the reverb / tremolo model and it sounds excellent, on a side note I didn’t think the upcharge was too off the wall since it was really two pedals in one, I especially like the 60’s style reverb option on that particular pedal as well. The one other pedal manufacturer I wanted to mention is Missing Link Audio, I own three of their pedals here, they aren’t cheap by any means however they sounds fantastic. Especially if you’re trying to achieve that Allman Brothers Band sound, they just recently added two more for a Billy Gibbons sound and also an AC / DC style as well. ( I’ve heard Angus Young has used the Lightspeed pedal from Greer Audio a few different places although I don’t know how true that is but it’s a very subtle and good sounding pedal too ). Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas as always 🤙

I'd like to point out that there are cheap modeler pedals where if you don't clog up the CPU with amp sims, you can clog up the CPU with all the FX you want, instead. Zoom, Mooer, NuX, Valeton, Hotone, Donner, Vox, Flamma, Joyo, all have multiFX units in either flyrig style setups or full digital units with expression pedals and all, or at the least they have the ability to have an expression pedal plugged in, or you can still use them with external pedals and wahs.

Before they put you into a pine box, try an EHX MEL9, or an EHX pitchfork pedal. It changed the way I view guitar effect pedals. Distortion pedals and such are great, but you want something that is incredible cool on your board. There you have it.

The commentary here is spot on. The one knob monsters, they always got to me. I understand you're the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, and you want the real deal, but who else would really need one of those? The "boring" factor, I think I get that one too. Everything else here too, while a bit speculative, I think is really worth considering. The comedy factor in these videos, worth multiple plays.

Digitech hardwire chorus. One of a couple pedals I bought new and never left my board. Been through a ton of chorus oedals but this one is the only one for me since the month the whole hardwire line was released. Delay I Stand and swear by my tc electronics nova series with the modulation. And my danecho by danelectro. That's a sweet killer delay. The rest I agree with but with a strymon sunset who needs more than 7 distortions and boosts and over dives? Because next to it sits my ehx glove.

Tr-2 alternative for me is a Dano Fish & Chips at $40, Cry Baby GCB95 alternatives for me are Crybaby Bass Wah at $95 but I have to admit that Morley Vai is a ruthless Wah, Boss DS-1 is irreplaceable if you want the low fi and rude grunge sound but having a Marshall in a box is more useable for me - I choose the Outlaw Deputy Marshall for that at $45. Forget Strymon. Any Boss DD series at $75 in your effects loop and an XVIVE Delay at $45 in front of the amp. TS-9? Nah. Digitech Bad Monkey $65. EHX Small Clone does look the coolest but the one nobody ever thinks about is the Bass Clone $70 it’s the exact same thing with high and low eq knobs. ZVEX fuzz factory? Sure, but you could try a Greedtone Fuzz $99 for that boutique handmade snarl. Phase 90? I just don’t like it, I’m more of a Small Stone type but the Digitech Hyper phaser doesn’t it all and the last Guitar Center I visited had one used for $35. Good vid. The weed eater bit was great.

Lol, great vid, I own the morley bad horsie 20/20 and had the original oversized one in the past, best wah hands down, as far as the ds1 and small clone, for a kid trying to replicate cobains sound I can see them wanting those for x mas. I owned one of those small clones and it sounded amazingly great, but the damn thing would pop every time I switched it on or off🤷‍so I sold it.

Hey Robert you are correct about the Tube Screamer. Yeah I love'm but have a special run Ibanez made for Sweetwater some years ago,it has a midboost switch and gets into heavy distortion without the beehives. Agreed on the BOSS DS-1. I had three different DS-1s with the same problems in common which were,dialing back the tone knob produced less distortion,turning the tone up produced a bit more. Also,the gain was not versatile at all. Enter Alchemy Audio. This guy takes a BOSS DS-1 then puts his parts in....all highest cap and film resistors. I bought mine for $95(. Including Shipping!) They probably have gone up a bit( like Everything)since buying mine a few years ago but the price is worth it. True Marshall in a box TONE FOR DAYS brother!! Right on,the Dunlop wah is horrible. I had to return 3 or 4 because either they wouldn't hold their tone ( ALL of them ),and the signal from the wah to the amp was inconsistent. My favorite chorus pedals are my BOSS and THE fav of mine is the DanElectro Chorus . 2 knobs, versatile and the most beautiful tone. Great video bro 🎸👍👍🎸

Robert, I have a crybaby wah and hate it :D I thought something was wrong with me because everybody else says it's wonderful. The pedal action is bad, the on/off switch is very hard to hit right, you can't power it with a battery unless you do a big ritual to save your battery every time you turn off the rig. Also, if you try to power it externally, you need a strange adapter and the power cable keeps popping out. I'll plan to ditch this mess and get me a Morley or other wah that pisses me off less :D

Also, Behringer, Joyo, Hotone, and more have multi-wah/active volume pedal combos for under $100 usd. And in general a lot of these brands have digital modelers that outdo their single digital and analog effects for the price of a couple pedals. I will never stop laughing at the irony of these brands obsoleting their own single effect pedals by making their own multiFX pedals with models of same, and by letting other brands do the same.

LOL. I got rid of my Boss DS-1 and a friend got rid of his Ibanez Tube screamer. Not just boring, but so limited compared to what is out there now. I got a cheap Ammoon and it is way better and has more usable sounds than the Boss.

Surprised I didn't see the new Soktronics Tubesock pedal here. If you like the sound of an old tubesock (analog, natch) this is THE PEDAL. Much better than their Athlete's Foot pedal. That thing doesn't sound like athlete's foot at all. Anyhoo Merry Christmas !

That Cry Baby is unusable. Sucks all tone away in off position. Thanks for the better recommendation. Love my CE-2w for chorus. Also Rotovibes do the same for tone as the crybaby.

I just got a Boss DS1 and I like it.... :p LOL i have one of those weed eaters...hate it , I guess it's better than an idiot stick ;) I am not moist or dripping over those pedals .....I do have the Hall of Fame ;) For Christmas, I asked for a tele body, so I can build one....have everything, but maybe a neck...got to look for it : /

Even though the dime wah is about $200 nowadays, it's still a better wah than the basic crybaby wah and it let's you customize the kind of sound you want in a wah pedal. I totally recommend it!!!
