Phil is the greatest front man ever.. He's the reason I picked up the bass.. His bass playing doesn't get the credit it should.. Nor does he.. He was amazing.

Really need to get a campaign to get Dublin airport named after him. Belfast have the George Best airport, Liverpool have John Lennon airport. How cool would it be to have the airport named Phil Lynott International airport here in Dublin ? Before any politicians get the idea of naming it after one of their own.

Guess could use your filters to search for most popular, if ya wanna go that kinda route ? Explore Thin Lizzy. And also, check out Phil Lynott Solo stuff, especially "Old Town". Dublin Town in the 80's ! And the charisma that exuded from Philo and how the public loved him (Philo was soo... loved around town) is well highlighted in that "Old Town" video. @fletchkeilman2205
@fletchkeilman2205 3 года назад
@@maryellenyarusso7029 agreed. Even though I think Bono lives up to his pseudonym. Bruce, on the other hand........complete opposite. Calculated every move. We tend to forget that Bruce was trying to get out of that stigma that held Asian men at higher standards than others at the time in terms of natural abilities. And also used the Oriental "mystique" to his utmost advantage in regards to just about everything. We ate it up. "Be water, my friend.....". And rightly so. Bruce's timing was almost impeccable. He came at a time where nothing like this had been done before. And if it had it had not been seen anywhere in regards to American audiences. Kung Fu the TV show, was pretty much the only outlet to see these techniques on a weekly basis. And of course, the obligatory martial arts schools pop up everywhere. And let's just say everyone took advantage. It's not just white people that bought into the hustle. If you don't think every Asian guy tried to start a martial arts academy when the craze was going, and didn't use his ethnic background as a springboard for such purpose? Well oh, you would definitely be wrong as well. no one expected it to turn out the way it did. Media didn't help. And filmmakers at the time didn't help either. I'm not even just talking about bruceploitation films. As much as these films influenced a whole slew of filmmakers, it also filled a void that is still somewhat open to this day. Bruce was invincible. No doubt in my mind. We had a real life Superman in our midst. we did absolutely nothing to preserve his legacy aside from cheap cassian's. yeah I know. Bruceploitation films were horrible. But I'm going to tell you what. If they weren't around, and I mean this sincerely because I've done the research, how we trained in Combat sports and how we approach it would be completely different. It would take me a few days to blather on, and I'd like to think that people would understand. I guess it just boils down to this, at least for me...... Bruce came and went the moment in the peak of his abilities, he died and left us with a mystery that we will never be able to solve. That in and of itself is very hard to swallow for those that knew him or were around him. But everyone who idolize them such as myself, and some of my closest friends, you understand that Bruce was one thing that all of us were. He was a human being. Human beings are not infallible. Human beings are not the strongest mammal. Human beings are not the smartest mammal. Human beings are extremely emotional. Human beings are selfish, xenophobic, racist, agoraphobic, and a million other things to project into an evening that would be a subject of a video in and of itself. Bruce Lee was a man. A man capable of failure. A man capable of showing us that we need to strive to be different but to get truth from these differences. We need to get our egos in check and out of the f****** way. They are our biggest roadblock. No matter how humble one comes across, they definitely we're bawling like a baby at some point within the last 3 days. some people channel this differently. Some people channel it through achieving goals. Other people channel it through physical feats and pushing boundaries. Bruce did that his physique alone was something that most bodybuilders could not fathom to obtain. will be the enigma that push us through the next two hundred years in regards to the ego, personality, racism, xenophobia, and so on and so forth. Because I'm going to say this right now too. A lot of people like to go off on other people to "feel better" about themselves. And guess what? Problem still remains.........Tune in next week.....

That was hard to watch. I'm sat here trying to hold the tears back. To hear him talking about working on a new album he was so full of energy, so eager to make new music, but then we lost him on 04 January 1986. That was a time I will always remember. I saw Thin Lizzy 3 times and Phil Lynott with Gary Moore at the Manchester Apollo when they played Out in the Fields and Parisienne Walkways together. I hope Philomena gave him a clip round the ear for breaking her heart when we lost him now they are back together.

Ola is a Norwegian male name uteligger is consists of two words ute( out/outside + ligger= laying, so outside laying person, but the true translation is a homeless person, but the Norwegian word specifies they lay outside.

Phil was a very special person. Like Gary Moore burned the candle and was gone way too soon...

Phil rules for evermore and all-time!! Number One on the checklist when I first visited Ireland was to visit his grave as well as the statue: both were awesome experiences for me. I will forever be in debt to this man for his body of work that has uplifted my soul and rocked my socks off for decades!

The main reason to never try heroin is that it took the life of a man as great as Phil.

Wow, I knew Phil was a superstar but actually seeing all those TV appearances, How did they not invite him to play Live Aid? I know that was the one that went to the heart.

Geldof shunned Phil out of playing Live Aid, and he was hurt not to play it. I don't know why this was but there was no reason he couldn't do it. All Geldofs fault.

@@thedigitalemotion I heard Philip shagged Paula Yates ( Bob"s missus ) , and that's why he wasn't part of Band aid/Live aid .
