These two mediums mean so much to me, dope to see someone approach it this way

Fr! That's why I love it so much... two artistic mediums that aren't compared very much. My childhood was, basically, old movies and HipHop. When I was 2, I fell in love with the movies Amadeus and Gandhi, leading to my love of cinema... when I was 7, my love for Public Enemy initiated me into HipHop. This vid and part 2 were made for me!

Awesome video as usual there are a few rappers I can pair up with film directors. Some might be kind of a strange but here are a few some I kinda came up Mach Hommy-Martin Scorsese -Mach and Scorsese both have a similar approach to culture of their hometowns(Haiti and New York),the culture surrounding them and the history of violence that surrounded their culture Eyedea-Michel Gondry -Both of them seem to blend surreal imagery/abstract lyricsism with a emotionally melancholic storytelling pretty well through some beautiful metaphors and symbolisms EL-P-David Cronenberg -EL-P's production and lyricism both share a certain cold, mechanical, cynical atmosphere most Cornenberg movies seem to have Milo-Jean Luc Godard -Both seem to nerds that approach each of their artwork through a stream of consciousness type approach Lil Ugly Mane-Lars Von Trier -Outside of Mista Thug Isolaiton, like LRT,Ugly Mane's music seem to captulate mental health and depression(Especially in Bedwetter) with his surreal beat choices and his dark metaphors Dalek-Andrzej Żuławski -Both share a surreal, chaotic, cold atmosphere that lingers on your head for a long time

Very dope video! Def one of my favorite Hip Hop centered channels right now. Personally I’d match Tarantino with Ghostface Killah; especially GFK’s track Shakey Dog just sounds like a QT flick to me. For me, I’d put MF DOOM next to maybe Jim Jarmusch or Park Chan-Wook.

Yeah, ghostface and QT 100% Yo, I would have lined up DOOM and Jimmy. Not sure about DOOM and Park tho, the Vengeance trilogy Park, hmmm maybe, but beyond those 3 films, I can't see it. Love tho ❤

_Whaaaat?!?_ Such a fascinating theme... AND your first example is Kurosawa and Ka?!? 😍 Kurosawa is in my top 3 or 4 artists of all time. You've got such great taste, my friend! The only thing I've loved longer than HipHop is cinematic history, so I'm very much looking forward to your new channel... keep up the great work! Edit: PTA and Blu?!? billy woods and Charlie Kaufman?!? John Ford and Slick Rick?!? Charlie Chaplin and Ice-T?!? 😂 Awww man... you're a creator after my own heart!

Very dope concept 👌🏿 Its been said in here already but im going to say it again.... These two art form are my life blood and seeing somebody smush the two together like i would bring a tear to my eye, again fantastic idea 💡 👏🏼, Its a concept for true nerds, dope thank you ❤ But i would have to switch DOOM counterpart with the coen brothers, i just feel the way they create their films line up better with the way DOOM presents his vernacular, very off killer humour, dark, strange to a point that at times drifts into the surreal, weird and the absurd, but within all of that there is a strong morality, meaning and substance within DOOMS overall presentation, which i find with coen brothers films. (I was going to really go in a start listing out the films that would fit into DOOMs albums and why they would fit lol, but ill spare you having to read my bad grammar lol) While i can understand the Quentin pick to a degree it just doesn't click all the way. Yes, quentin is dope no doubt but theres rarely and meaning with dudes films, hell yeah they are entertaining and super interesting to look at and yeah definitely i get the nerding out with obscure reference shit you're spot on with that. But again QTs films never really mean anything past entertaining. (Was going to write a whole thing about the dialog comparison, but ill spare you lol) Ok, fun quiz... What QT film would line up with something like DangerDOOMs vats of urine? I think Coens "burn after reading" matches the absolute "what the f**k did i just listen to/watch" to a point where you just have to laugh at the randomness but also marinate in their genius, while also applauding the level of mastery and understanding of their respective mediums to be able to make a song/film that they know is ridiculous and goes nowhere just to flex how good they are at their craft and be able to sell it anyway. Will definitely sub to your other channel just to disagree with your takes lol. Love what you do man ❤ Maaaaaan you have NO idea how much i could have kept writing just on that one pick 😂. Struck the inner nerd in me with this one, good shit bro.

I fucking love your more conceptual videos like this. This might be my second favourite bit of content you've put out after the King Geedorah / Starker double-feature. But in terms of the more "standard" vids, I went to see Roc Marciano live last week with a friend who had never heard of him before, and I made him watch your excellent video analysis of Marci and it converted him instantly. Would love to see you do a similar take on the late great Tame One, and/or maybe something on the super fascinating career-arc of RA the Rugged Man. Or even the weird sub-sub culture and mythology The Doppelgangaz have built around themselves... Keep up the good work, whatever you choose to do!

Really?!? That's interesting... I guess I can see that. PTA is my favorite working filmmaker but Godard is incredibly fascinating. billy woods and Kauffman are a great pairing, but actually I can see arguments for billy and Godard as a good comparison.
