If someone is an absolute beginner and they want to take things very slowly, they should use Core. Much, much, easier than Unity and Unreal and any other game engine with the same UI and functionality as Unreal. You can make a complete game in days while learning how to program, how to level design, etc.

How can it have better graphics then unity, does unity only run on by a or something? No unity had now got high def render pipelines out of the box, which allows the highest possible graphics fast. Only time an engine had better graphics is when the artist is better.

You don't want to use a laptop for ue4 unless it was specifically designed for gaming or video editing. Ue4 uses tons of cpu and ram based off your project. Unrelated note when you get into it be careful of free assets some old ones to this day are bugged or something and will crash ue4. On another note I can give you a list of parts if you want and you can build your own desktop capable of playing anygame you want on high setting running 1080p or using ue4 don't matter what it could handle it I built my own and haven't looked back since key is to quit being cheap with shit.

@@rathore3991 www.cpu-monkey.com/en/compare_cpu-amd_ryzen_5_5500u-1766-vs-intel_core_i5_10210u-941 AMD In general is all around better so always go for amd the purpose isn't even the number of cores threads hrtz anything like that it's their products durability and life span out of what u gave me and no specifics of i5 10th gen processor and using 5500u the amd in this sense is better though, it's 2 cores more higher base ghz lower overclock ghz which isnt that bad as it keeps the damage lower over time if you even over clock. Personally if I were you and doing something like ue4 it'd be a major investment if your serious but building a machine with a thread ripper is ideal thread rippers are beasts. The Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX is pushing with 32 cores and 64 threads running at 3.0 base ghz and overclocked at 4.2ghz but thread rippers are expensive so be warned theyre designed for work stations video editing and a ton of other heavy processing needs. @@rathore3991 I'm using a Nitro 5 for Unreal development! It runs fine, I'm still a beginner so I didn't do any advanced thing but I haven't ran into any problem yet. I don't know about the ryzen, but my Nitro has an i5 gen 8 (8300H).

When I referred to nativising in the video, I meant taking blueprint functionality and transforming it into c++ manually. I’m not exclusively referring to blueprint nativisation via the project export / package option. Hope this clarifies

@Kevin F ok, my previous comment didn't refer to performance. How readable and usable he generated cpp code is for devs/programmers was my point, if you look at it and give it to a programmer to build upon or make changes, it's gonna be .... yeah nope

You should be able to run unreal engine just fine. I would upgrade the ram to 16gb but for now 8 should do fine. You can make both 2d and 3D games in unreal. There are a lot of templates to help you get started on the epic games launcher

@Kevin F Not always. If you use custom blueprint structs and such Unreal can have a hard time converting it and nativization can actually decrease performance. There is a reason it's an experimental feature.

Fat Dino is the famous one to use Unreal Engine. But yeah, the more famous ones are using Unity...

How has been your journey 1 year later? Personally I didn't have a good experience with Unreal but maybe your journey has been different :)

Right everyone has his taste in engines depend on what things they like to do for unreal easy to learn for beginners and have good graphics but unity is a base for game development and smooth to learn so i choosed unity for sure

You don’t need external plugins for multiplayer for it to work. All of my multiplayer games I’ve made in ue4 don’t use any sort of “multiplayer plugin”.

What do you mean by gaping hole between C++ and Blueprints?

@@nickgennady The hole that was left when they abandoned UnrealScript. Having access to native C++ is great for optimizing the critical paths of your game (something Unity lacks easy access to), and Blueprints is best in class for artists. But most indie game development nowadays takes place in between those two, like C# in Unity/CryEngine/Godot or Javascript, Lua and purpose built scripting languages in GameMaker/GDevelop/Cocos/Defold.

@@woodbyte ok I can agree with that. I would rather use Lua over Blueprints. I find nodes messy. C# is special because it powerful and native language like c++. Burst compiler in Unity is better than c++ in areas.
