How can we do not be thankful to Behringer... I mean sincerely... They bring back pure old synth gems to us, plus with adding modern technology into them to enjoy at 100% these gems... isn’t it a dream? Be honest... It’s not like the original brands didn’t know since DECADES AND DECADES that we all want back these old analog synthesizers!!! But they don’t do it so........ I’m a 41 yo guy, I’ve grown up with so beautiful synthesizers sounds in my ears, from legendary musics, tv shows, legendary cartoons, legendary movies... And I arrived in a moment in my life where I deeply feel the need to listen again these so iconic synths sounds and play with it... And thanks to Behringer I can do it... THANK YOU BEHRINGER. SO MUCH. Big salut from France 🇫🇷 Vinz🙋‍♂️

I have owned the DeepMind 12 for about 4 months now. I did a lot of research. I watched a lot of videos, and I have played synthesizers since Radio Shack was selling the MG-1. Of all the knowledge I have gathered, all the videos I watched - this is the most informative! And I've been playing the thing for months. It's nice to learn just how flexible and powerful this model is. I'll be getting a lot of use out of it. Thanks for showing me all of it.

I knew it! Just knew it when you did the review of the UDO :-) :-) I love this synth - had the Deepmind 6 for a while but had to sell it because it was too heavy for the kind of Gigging I do. And using this only for Solos was just too much power. People will laugh or cringe, but the Reface DX is now my on-the-go-gotta-play-a-couple-of-synth-solos-every-once-in-a-while Synth. Love you guys - Cap'n, Jack, Tay, Falcon, Rabea, Danish Pete, Chappers, and all the people I'm forgetting or we never hear about who make this incredible series of videos. Hats off to you all. Thanks!

I have the desktop version here in my studio and, like Jack has said it is a wonderful piece of kit .The sound possibilities are almost endless perhaps having a much more expensive analogue synth may not give you the depth you have with the DeepMind .One other thing you can do with it is that you can polychain this synth to other DeepMind .

Yup nailed it. I have had mine for a couple of years, it was my first analogue for a few decades. 12 note polyphony at this price point is incredible. Inspired by the Juno without a doubt but turbo charged by the 4 effects engines. As a beginner or someone returning to hardware analogue synths? Perfect.

Nice one Jack. I remember getting my first polysynth. Korg Polysix brand new from, I cant remember the name of the shop, Basildon in Essex. Still got it, but it needs some lovin'. I think it needs a KiwiSix. I just got a Deepmind 12 and what an amazing synth it is. I would heartily agree with your recommendation for it to be a first time buyers synth. Behringer really knocked it out of the park with this one. I'd love to see the guys in Manchester do a poly version of the Neutron. Don't think that would be a first time purchase tho! 23:32 - absolutely MASSIVE man, you blow me away.

Great demo! I wanted to suggest if you guys would do a video on multi effects well suited for synths. Say you have a non-stereo synth that you want to simply, in one pedal or board, or iPad, add stereo effects such as Drive/Rotory/Chorus/Phaser/Delay/Rev. Something like the Yamaha Reface CP has as effects board, something small and fully capable that we could sit on top of a keyboard. Some people suggests the Keeley DDR, which is great but that ain't stereo, and would need an extra chrous, modulation pedal. Perhaps there is an iPad range of multi effects such as the Boehringer here for the deep mind, that could take other sources. An iPad has the advantage of portability and simplicity for sitting on top of your keyboard, but lacks the physical controls. There is a lot to discuss in a video like that, hope you guys nail it!!!

I got the DeepMind 12D, the desktop version on a Black Friday sale for just over $400.00 USD. This is the most used piece of gear in my Studio and I still cannot believe that I only picked it up for just over $400.00 USD. I would have gladly paid $700.00 or $800.00 USD for this synth out of a sale and I cannot recommend this synth highly enough! It's definitely the BEST Poly synth out there in it's price range! I'm hoping to pickup the Deepmind 6 Keyboard one in the near future when it's "hopefully" on sale again. I totally regret not getting the DM6 when it was going for $359.00 Brand New about 2 years ago. Big Regret! But hopefully will have a chance at that price range again during the annual big sales.....Great Overview once again and great video! Thank you!

Great review! Funnily enough I've been making stuff on FL Studio for ages, but it's hard to 'fiddle on the fly' and, more importantly, I still can't play the piano!! So I got an old PSS-560 for £15 not long ago and it's so liberating to have manual controls - either going to get this or an 88-key something or other in a few months - leaning towards this at the price point though!!

As bizarre as it sounds, to hear Jack discuss the merits of this synth as a learning tool over and above so many other keyboards proves without doubt that the synth has very few peers as per its price point. In matter of fact, I learned a while back just how flexible and versatile theis little beast truly is.. Just scour the pages and pages of sound libraries that have been created online for this keyboard to emphasise its abilities.

This is my one and only synth currently. It's quite nice. One thing that may throw some folks, if you are doing your own patches, is that the output seems very low. And it will be usually. You typically need to use the F/X stuff to drive the output higher.

Great video man. I have a lot of "old" synths. Sold a lot, kept some. Mostly digital rack synths. Had an Alesis Andromeda, but never had the guts to dive deep into it, to complex. Had a Waldorf Q, Microwave XT Rack, and others, same story. I'm a sort of preset guy. But the Deepmind, I don't have it yet, blows my mind. It is still available in the Netherlands, but should I buy it? After seeing your video I should and I will.

Great video and thank you. After a very long time without synths I've started again last year. And my first choice was the Behringer DeepMind12. A really amazing synth when compared to the last synth I sold years ago (it was a Roland JP8000). What I like a lot is the excellent universe of sounds the DM12 offers and the quality. Some little dislike for the factory sound presets ... some are pretty weird but after "upgrading" the DM12 with the fantastic patches of GEOSynths the DM12 is the core of my setup. And you have always to keep in mind what exciting synth you get for such less money. 5 thumbs up for your recommendation.

digital control of analog seems to be gaining the most interest by me. they sound great and you cant get lost like on a manual analog. plus you can save patches. so i agree dm12 is a great starter poly. i think the uno synth pro will be a good match for this too.

I am totally inspired now. I've been doing synths for over 35 years, but only as rack and tabletop modules plus VSTs. I always felt the the connection to really learning to craft sounds rather than just modifying a bit or using straight outa the box presets was missing. When the keys are half a room away from where the knobs are it feels disconnected. Don't get me started on wiggling sheit on a PC screen and mouse.

@@sigurdwerdammen1494 they are great. I've got a Novation Summit sat here and that hasn't taken away the musical space that the deepmind occupies. Definitely an investment in your studio, they will hold their own against much more expensive gear.

@@squoblat Is my first time buying a synt, and i cant stop thinking about the Access Virus TI 2, but it comes with a price. So for now, im looking at Korg Minilogue XD and the DeepMind 12. I like psychedelic music.

@@sigurdwerdammen1494 I still have a virus on my shopping list. I would urge you to consider the deepmind 6 if you can't quite stretch to a 12.

@@sigurdwerdammen1494 I also have a love for psychedelic music, the deepmind and summit are two I've not stopped using since I bought them. A half decent mono synth is something that plays well with the deepmind, the Behringer model D is a very, very good companion to a dm12

Jack, I love your humor and wit, which is implemented into most all of your presentations, and furthermore, 1) Your personal enthusiasm, 2) Great "ad hoc" keyboard flexibility, and 3) Excellently wide bandwidth of musical skills, for multiple genres, playing techniques, & etc. All of that said, I think your 1st goal here is not for me, or for others, but to sell Behringer 12, rather than to help anyone choose their "1st Synth". I don't fault you for that aspect, except I prefer articulation over ambiguity, so "to me", your title should "denote" the fact that the synthesizer here being focused on is 1) Analog (that should reflect in title) and 2) Having a 12 note polyphony. Your 1st trajectory & goal here is (imo) not helping aspiring "new to synth" keyboardists, but rather, "sell Behringer", & specifically this model. 😉 I "get it" sales people are just that, but, ... from a "presentation" standpoint, accurate portrayal, categorically is nice also. Suggestion, first describe the general "who" this model would be for, then "the why-so", from an "end-user", pivoting perspective, instead of "Gee, I need to sell this product" perspective ... in the first place, then "Drill Down", from there. Mountains and hills start at their base, not their half-way mark. I risk "sounding overly critical", only because I know you are extremely versatile, resilient, and Effective already, thus, I expect more, in your selling psychology and marketing transparency, ... "as a person", versus "product push", if that makes sense. i.e. "Parameters" such as "who" is your audience, what are their short range goals, what "might be" their long range goals, etc. If I'm "missing" something obvious, then excuse me, but in reading titles, that is what comes to my mind. while reviewing.
