Isaac spohn evos make power easier because their stock turbo is larger than the sti. after that it cost the about the same to build either one. Stock turbo and full bolt ons evo takes the upper hand.
Or perform, power outputs one thing but having a shorter and more balanced engine makes the subie way more stable, if you're gonna have a v anything engine you may as well LS swap
Budcon oh my god. I take back the honda comment. I was fast to get at your neck and I dont even know the scale of your knowledge. I bow to you o dear master. you own a subi tho?
Forgot #11 It's super fun to drive! '04 WRX Wagon owner here, 209k miles still on original clutch, most fun car I've ever owned or driven. I'll never sell it!
First, I love Subaru so I agree with MOST of these except for 10 the last one. Where TF can you find one for 3000? especially a STI? in my state they're usually 7k or up
In the midwestern USA you're looking at these prices: Bug eye $3500-$6000 Blob Eye $5000-9000 Hawk Eye $8000-12000 Not even going to include the other styles because here those aren't affordable for the performance All STi's here run about $12500 for a high mileage blob eye to $22000 for a low miles or heavily modified one Hawk eyes are right around the same price honestly, the lower end might be closer to $15k though. I know these are very broad but after looking for years this is pretty much what ive found. Located in Iowa btw.
They look like a cat waiting to pounce...they sound great and are fast.... the grip and handling is amazing...making a novice driver look and feel great! 👌😀👍
My 06 has been my daily driver since i bought it and its still running strong at 172k miles. I love wrxs and would only buy a new wrx when it comes time. Such a great car for living in Mass.
I love the winter (I like the summer but love the cold weather and the winter), Subarus love snow, that must be a sign straight from Heaven that I need to buy an STI.
The EJ engines aren't a good platform to build power on. Yes their design is good and its worked for many years but the EJ207 and the EJ25 have countless erros not to mention how screwed up every wrx and STi's factory tune is.
but the wagons still look good in newer years. the new Subaru impreza sedans are a no no for me. they cost way more than an old one and older ones look better
Stock Evo vs Stock Sti Evo will win because it has better torque. Subaru is known for their low end torque. But to say the least any Evo motor will make more power than any Sti motor with way less money. Takes a lot more money and effort to make power on Subaru's but it can be done. Its honestly just preferance but I choose not to throw money away lol so you can guess what car I have ;)
deciding to buy hawkeye, i want it to be 300whp sedan, do wrx can handle that or its just easier to buy sti? Also they go for like 10k$ for STi, wrx is 2-3k cheaper 2006~ hawkeye
I'm a Honda guy but I love Subaru they're high performance cars that's basically made to be fast I seen so many put American cars in their place my 04 Nissan Sentra SER Spec V is nothing compare to a Subaru I wanna get one but they're very expensive I'd like to know which website was that in the video at the end because I know the sites I go on a Subaru isn't cheap if it's a STI or WRX
Well in general i dont hate any cars neither do i hate the evo, i personally love the wrx sti, ever since young when my eyes caught a glimpse of the bright metallic blue colour, its roaring engine and it just seeing it dash down the road i fell in love with it, even till this day. I wouldnt mind getting an evo but i just personally love subarus. Dont hate me fellas, i love cars like all of u do, im sure we can agree on the fact that they're still really sick cars
+Leiz Thanks man :) I sure will, it might actually become something sort of a miata-blog, haggard garage style only this time it won't be a beater miata and it'll most likely just be me,the miata and a camera hahah :D Meh still will get the family to a ski centre along with their ski-stuff, as well as rumble the earth, so it doesn't matter xD
What's up with the 2016 Subaru wrx & sti having gone the turbo in the front bottom of the engine bay, that just seems like bad placement for something like that
Subaru's have always been amazing. The only thing I don't like about these newer gen Subies is that they don't sound like they did back in lets say about 2004.
I work for Subaru of America, most of the time when I WRX orSTi comes in having problems they usually leave with a brand new motor because of the turbos going out. Just sayin, plus they leak oil even the 2016 models
From my personal experience Anything after 2000 had engine issues like oil leaks, head gaskets, turbo's gear box well gear box was sorted when the 6 speed came out. I still have my97 GC8 drove it like I stole straight out the show room floor. At the time it was mostly stock just boost set to 18psi stock turbo 3" cat back, ECU defender, whiteline coils & rollbars anti-lift kit, fuel surge protection, it was my daily drive and went on track day events for over 10 years without any big issue. Issue only began when I started modding the WRX the gear box on those 5 speeds had great ratios but was weak tend to twist when you increase HP but all fixed with some PPG's & strengthening frame around the box to stop it twisting no more issues. If you go for big HP on the older WRX you need to get a strong diff :) if I keep it stock with just the basic upgrades it probably still be on the road at the moment. When I get my lazy ass into gear I will put back together my GC8 with a brand new Sti 2005 block closed deck & some other goodies one day.........
I think both Evos and Subarus, except the latest STI and EVO X are good looking. But Evos handle better from the factory and the fuel economy is definately better on evos too. But they dont really sound as meaty as boxers.
