A piece wound up coming out and having to be put back in but thankfully that's as bad as it was lol. Had the same thing happen 3 more times during my solve and plenty more for other solves so it's a fairly common issue with the Examinx.

The worst part about the ghost cube that you can't really know without handling it, is that if you approach turning it like a regular cube, it wants to turn in ways you don't intend due to the weird angles of the surfaces. It doesn't just mess with your brain, but your muscle memory.

I've got a stickerless pentacule cube... It really helps to use beginners algos for it. First I solve the corners, lined up with the centers. and then the pentacle pieces are easily solved to their correct sides. It's a ton of fun, and one of my favorites now. :D

After I got good at solving 3x3, 4x4 and 5x5, I started buying shape mods... The Megaminx really broke my brain at first. It's now one of my favorites when I just feel like picking up a puzzle and farting around.

The MIRROR CUBE is the best for the blind. My wife bought me one years ago and was disappointed I could solve it blindfolded. But it solves exactly like a regular cube and feeling the shapes is really easy, easier than keeping track of the different textures on a blind cube. I also have a ghost cube, which is a skewb (weird twisted cube) that is done similarly where you can feel the different size pieces. That one would be REALLY hard for the blind, but possible. Get good at a mirror cube before you try it.

although for mirror and ghost cubes, if you get stickered ones you can't really solved it blind, because you have to care about the grain of the stickers, unless you get the really good one where you can can feel the grains

@@KusaneHexaku Ghost Cubes only solve one way. It can always be done blind... though it is REALLY hard. The mirror cube, unless you have a sticker that has a direction, like a picture that needs to match, then its the same. No piece can be swaped with any other and still result in a cube at the end.

Ooh I have a bunch of these! My favorite is the Pentacle Cube, it's deceptively easy once you understand how it works! Also, I love my Mirror Cube, it's a fun party trick to solve it behind my back!

I got a 7x7 not long after they first came out. It didn't take long to learn to solve. It solves EXACTLY the same as a 5x5. Every larger cube solves like either a 4x4 or a 5x5. I do it with a VERY different method though. I solve the edges first using a simple algorithm. Then I solve the outside edge like a regular 3x3. If something weird (parity error) happens, it is really easy to fix without any algorithms. And then I do the centers last. There is a really easy center piece swap algorith. This method is REALLY slow, but easy. Takes me about 15 minutes. I could DEFINITELY teach you to solve a 7x7. 100% guaranteed. Barely harder than a 3x3 with my method. I used to practice on the NYC subway. Until one day it exploded in my hand and some pieces fell onto the tracks. I still have a bag somewhere of 7x7 pieces. I don't know why. (I may have thrown it out.)

Putting a shuffled up Rubik's cube on a table in front of a nerd is the modern day equivalent of throwing down a box of matches in front of a vampire. It's not gonna work on all of them, but some won't be able to function until they've solved it compulsively.

I think the 21x21 is only custom order. I believe all these were off the shelf. Also, 7x7 is the biggest it gets where it still looks relatively normal. Beyond that, the geometry requires the outer edge to be bigger. On the 21x21, the borders look rediculous. And it's near impossible to turn.

Y’all should check out the Gear Cube. It’s made by this company Mefferts. When you try to turn a side of the cube, the other side rotates in the opposite direction with a gear mechanism. I’d like to see Mr. Speed Cube solve that!

Never seen an evil eye cube before... I want one. My wife got me a new cube for my birthday recently. A Skewb Xtreme. It's great. It took me about a week to solve. The solve is basically 3 stages. I can now solve the first stage and the last stage easily. But so far, I'm still relying on luck for the middle stage.

@@cubecatecho The corners of one layer is really easy. Then I figured out a simple algorithm to swap around center pieces and another to rotate center pieces. The hardest part for me is the 2nd set of 4 corner pieces. I THINK they come down to a parity issue in how you choose to solve the first set of corners and I can now adjust the parity to give me a good chance of fixing the issue. But I don't yet fully understand it. The parity thing I figured out last night after making the original post.

I bought a cube after the last video and progressively learned how to solve it (layer 2 was the longest part, I sat repeatedly doing that during long work meetings for a while until confident and moved on). I’m now able to solve in generally less than 2 minutes, it’s steadily decreasing. I don’t think I’ll be moving on to any of these any time soon, lol

@@cubecatechoI bought myself a Gan Mirror M and a megaminx which arrived this morning. The mirror cube blew my mind at first but I’ve now solved it 4 times, the 4th time is the only attempt I’ve timed so far and managed it in just over 6 minutes, so about 4 times longer than I can do a normal cube in, but I’m pretty happy with that for early attempts! The megaminx on the other hand is sat on my desk in a scrambled mess 😅

Gonna be frank, the only Rubik's Cube anything I'm interested in for more than about five minutes is results from a competition in which the only people who could compete were people who had never heard of a Rubik's Cube, and new nothing of the established means of solution. Anything else is more a contest of memorization, known-pattern recognition, and manual dexterity. Which makes it basically a sport, if not literally one, and, among sports, there are a lot more entertaining things to watch, and a lot more entertaining things to be a part of. It's cool that there are people into it, and I must admit, seeing the feat, and "speed cubing" for the first time, long ago, was really neat, once. It's just not for me, though.

Just gonna drop this in here since there was a little misinfo in the video and the truth is more absurd. The 7x7 record is actually much faster. The current 7x7 record average is about 1:46 ( average as a single shuffle can just be lucky). Also a bit of a tip for Echo if he sees this, if you want to get way faster at 7x7 I reckon you could easily cut your time in half by learning free slice edge pairing. As the whole solve wasn't shown I can't say with certainty this is the case, but based on how you did the edges we saw I have to guess you could save yourself a ton of time doing that.

My kellogs 2x2 star wars head rubics cube passed me off as a kid, I remember breaking one accidentally and having an empty space and solving it the cheating way and shuving the missing piece back in. It became one of those sliding puzzles + a jig saw puzzle. (P.S. DO A VIDEO ON PING PONG SMOKEBALLS, REQUEST # MORE THEN THE INJURY COUNTER RESET. (We all know that's a lot.)

If you want to learn to solve the 7x7, I 100% guarantee I could teach you. I have a really simple method that nobody uses. Nobody uses it because it's REALLY slow... but it is very easy.

Hey! I was definitely way off on the world record part of this! A couple other commenters have pointed that out and blown my mind. Max is an absolute beast. Not sure where you heard me say that 7x7 was as big as they get though. I own several higher order cubes and even showcased the Examinx in this (which at the time of recording was the largest mass produced cube) Hope you liked the video otherwise!

They’re just a plastic cubes, while some are expensive im sure the guys at modern rogue are nice enough to replace any damaged cube. People get way too offended over small lifeless objects

@@jiggyjustin2292 yeah it wasn't really just the cost it was more of the time it can take to put back together the amount of work it can take to untwist a locked up core and the risk of not realizing a 7x7 or bigger has a twisted corner or having a piece get lost in the warehouse Also just because they can possibly afford to replace it if damaged doesn't mean they want to have to

Hey that's not bad! I was about 36 seconds on average a year ago and now I'm getting sub 20 solves consistently. :) Keep practicing and you'll be a top tier cuber in no time!

I actually don't know. My wife is legally blind in one eye (she can only see light and dark and maybe some color if it's right in front of her face), but when I hear "blind" I tend to think of no visual input at all... where as "non-sighted" seems to convey a wider range of possibilities to me. But no, I don't think there's any stigma to "blind." I just happen to lean on "non-sighted." -Brian

A while back, I developed a REALLY easy method to solve the cube. It is much easier than the beginer's method. Hardly anyone has seen it, as I never promoted it or anything. Their blind, end of story. People that can't hear are deaf, people who can't talk are mute, people who are dumb are dumb. C'mon... this is getting ridiculous. reason 1: My wife is blind in one eye. When I say it that way, you assume there's no input in that eye, but that's not the case. She's got severe astigmatism: she can see light, dark, and colored blobs. Rather than take three sentences to explain all that, I just like the catch-all term "non-sighted." reason 2: I played chess for years. "Blind chess" is when you play without a board or pieces, but instead just picture the board in your mind. When I met and became friends with the "blind chess champion" of Texas, I was confused why he was touching a board when playing. Turns out there's another "blind chess", which is simply being blind, and playing chess. As far as I know, there's no stigma to saying "blind," but I always try to be as clear as possible in my speech, and I know for sure when I say "non-sighted", you know I'm talking about "not having sight." That's just a me preference, and in no way any kind of PC thing. -Brian

Or one is/could be…everyone thinks that universe means all space, but it actually doesnt, its just the space that was able to be measured but the whole ”all space” isnt and never will be when it expands and grows all the time and the amount wich it grows by also grows all the time so…. You can not measure it or even comprehend it. If you think in terms that everthing is everything and nothing at the same time and biggest and smallest thing to ever exist at the same time infinitely on a infinite timeline, then you can maybe understand what is happening to it but isnt comprehendable by words or how humans think.
