I know Spider-Man is phenomenal but you literally namechecked Arkham Knight in the video!!! That game is so underrated now, people only remember the Bat-Tank and forget the gorgeous world, intricate and deep sidequests, and the brilliant IMO storyline.
Other games I would have on this list would be: Bioshock Assassin's Creed Odyssey Fallout New Vegas Bloodborne Super Mario Odyssey But I did enjoy this list. Keep up the great work guys!
I wouldn't put Odyssey on this list. There are tons of doors and entryways that you have to pass through. Plus the worlds themselves aren't that large. It may have quick loads that don't hinder gameplay, but it doesn't qualify as seamless. A great game, just not seamless.
Fun Fact: God Of War 3 DOES contain one camera cut/scene break somewhere between halfway and three quarters through the game (I think closer to the latter); it's easy to miss because of the camera work and speed of the switch up, but it does happen.
No mention of Xenoblade Chronicles X? That game took my breath away, and ran a huge, seamless open world on the Wii U (by far the most underpowered console of its generation). That was my first game to live up to the whole "You see that over there? You can climb it."
What was the first game with a completely seamless world? No loading screens, no transitions, and every space is persistent so if you leave something in an area and come back later, it's still there (or if it was something like a plant it grew in real-time, or an urgent quest then it becomes unfinishable).
My favourite game that has a very interesting and immersive, seamless world that left me in awe: Pong. (huehue bad jokes) No, but Assassin's Creed: Odyssey has a BEAUTIFUL huge world you can explore. I haven't played it myself, but I love watching streams and videos of it because of it's beauty.
Nier Automata is my favorite seamless game from recently! The environments are beautiful and varied (and this is unrelated to the topic in particular but the OST for the game is amazing and just sells everything even more)
The city of Glass from Mirror's Edge Catalyst was gorgeous, varied, really fun to explore and the fantastic soundtrack was like a part of the world. Great script btw, well done to that person.
If Earth is a seamless open world, then the devs better get that damn virus under control and go back to the last system restore point. Meanwhile I'm hiding out in Azeroth.
I'm glad you gave Dark Souls its due credit for world building and exploration. It trully is a shame that when people talk about it, all they say is how hard it is. It's SOOOO much more than that.
Yeah. Then they got sucked into the dozens of bite-sized zones and linear paths in the expansions, particularly the storylines beginning the latest few expansions.
You guys actually need to play Breath of the Wild. I wasn’t that into the idea until I actually started playing it and it is one of the greatest games ever made.
Stop lying about BOTW! You can't just go wherever you want from the get-go. You need to complete a 30+ minute tutorial section to get the paraglider first!
Great video boys But I'd disagree with farcry 3. Whilst it certainly had good parts, it really went down hill as it went on imo. I personally did not enjoy the game very much As far as FPS's go - it's not bad. The guns are alright, but there's never any reason to go for the weaker guns, and I always love that kind of progression in games It literally gives you all of them, and the best weapons aren't even that expensive, 2 hours in I had one of the best assault rifles in the game, and had no reason to ever look at the other ones The story though - GOD is it awful There is a ludicrous amount of plot armour in the game. So much so that at even at points where there's a twist, like near the end to the game, where I thought "Wow, I was not expecting this! How is he actually going to get out of this??" Only to be completely disappointed when it cuts it short, and goes to a point in the future where he's basically fine, completely ignoring how the hell he got there, with the only possible explaination given being "Magic drug powers" Although the credits were skipable - which was very nice
