You know what also sucks? Seeing a shiny Seviper in a horde of Zangoose. Had it happen to me once. For those who don't know, when a horde of Zangoose has a Seviper, the Zangoose will attack that Seviper. It was painful, four Zangoose attacking a shiny Seviper and fainting it before I had the chance to take them all down to protect it.
This video makes me feel bad because on Soul Silver when I was about 8 I saw and caught a shiny Graveler and, not knowing how rare they are, released it because I didn't like the colours.
The very first rayquaza I found in emerald was black (shiny) so I thought regular rayquazas were that colour. Sooo, as you do, I started a new game and didn't transfer it on another game because I thought it was the regular one and thought I would catch it again...
Something happend to my friend. It was a Nuzlock challenge for gen 4 (Pokemon Platinum). Guess what? He saw a shiny Ralts. My friend threw a Pokeball at it. Guess what else happened? Ralts escaped and used Teleport. -_-
You know, after beating the first trial in Pokémon sun and moon I was on my way back to the Pokémon center, I encounter a zubat (the first zubat I saw in the game) it was shiny, later it becomes the main part of my team as a pink crowbat.
You forgot one: Uncatchable shinys in Gold, Silver, Crystal, HG and SS. You have to run an errand to Mr. Pokemon's house and since you don't have your dex yet you can't get Pokeballs and can't catch any Pokemon until after the catching tutorial. I missed out on two shiny rattatas and a shiny hoothoot this way! Something similar can happen in Hoenn as well since you have to run through grass to have your first rival battle before you get your Pokeballs.
+Conor Goodwin I agree. In SS I tried soft resetting for a Totodile, but got bored and just played the game. The pain I felt when I encountered a shiny pidgey in the very first patch of grass.
This video hits WAY to close to home for me. I had just started playing through Pokémon Ruby, had just finished hunting for the right nature for my Torchic, I nickname my starter (Cpt.Falcon, for those curious), started on my walk to go and battle May, and the first wild Pokémon I encountered on the way there was a shiny Wurmple. Another was during my playthough of Black 2. I was doing the "Search for the Sage in Pinwheel Forest" with Cherin, encounter a lvl 35-ish shiny Swadloon in a double battle, which Cherin promptly crit Giga-Impacts turn one with his lvl 55-ish Stoutland. I then murdered all of his Pokémon in cold blood, and spent the next ten minutes dying inside.
Try fainting a shiny Mawile in X/Y because you weren't paying attention to it. Then deciding that you want a new fairy type, looking up what pokemon ARE fairy types, seeing it, then seeing the shiny form of it. I literally turned off the game and didn't play it for a couple of days. Oh, by the way. FIRST POKEMON IN THE AREA IT SPAWNS IN!!!!!!
I remember playing my first pokemon game ever and a shiny pokemon came up but I didn't know my pokemon well and I thought it was just a normal pokemon. I killed it

Ironically I was only playing the game because I had insomnia, since it was about 6am and I obviously couldn't sleep. I didn't know whether to be pleased about the shiny or upset because it was a drowzee.
I tried to find a Lvl 10 Salamence in Sun but after 10 SoS calls, a Shiny Bagon was encountered. I captured it and it is Adamant with 31 ivs in Attack, Defense and Speed :D
Matt I agree. I do have shinies o plenty (most of them very rare and legendaries/mythical) but I got them after maaaany trades. The only other legit shinies I have caught are shiny Frogadier in Friend Safari, Shiny Drilbur in Black 2 and I don't remember any other

similar to my pokemon story I was playing Pokemon Moon and i was almost up to the electric type trial when i decided to do a little exploring. I encountered a shiny minior and i tried my best, throwing pokeballs at it until.... *self destruct*
found a shiny graveler in soul silver while grinding for clair. It used explosion. Then my team got a pokerus outbreak(which doubles EVs and is even rarer then a shiny could ever be) and I got a shiny ursaring while grinding in victory road the next day
Same happend for me in X and Y.. First time i encounter a roggenrola it was shiny.. But since i was distracted at the moment i didn't realize it was shiny but i was trying to catch every pokemon anyway and when i encountered the pokemon for the 2nd time i just realized there was something wrong
Something exactly like that happened to me when I first started playing Alpha Sapphire. I was grinding my starter to prepare for the first battle and then guess what? A shiny Zigzagoon appeared. I was literally freaking out because I had no way to catch it.
I really want to start a new HeartGold file maybe one of these days I can get a legit second copy and do that so I can try and do a Shiny run. Not every Pokémon in my team as Shiny, just ones that I want to shiny hunt for which would mean stuff like the Starter and stuff that I’ve never gotten as a Shiny before so no Legendary Beasts or Rayquaza since I’ve gotten them as events in other games
FireRed happens to be the first time I found a Shiny but… it was encountered in a bad place yes if you said… the Safari Zone then you would be right. It was a Nidoran Male but it still had a potential chance of fleeing thankfully I caught it before it did that. It’s now a Nidoking and is currently in my Sword game

Everyone is saying shiny Zygarde is out so it does not matter on this list anymore but he says "As it stands right now" at 9:14 and even the title says "Shiny Pokemon You'll Never CATCH" so it still makes perfect sense to be on this list. And also keep in mind this was published 2 years ago
The first shiny I found was a shiny luxio in pokemon platinum. It used roar... After that I kept running in the same grass over and over again, cus I thought it may come back. And I actually found another shiny luxio after 5 minutes. Guess what, it used roar.
Years ago (easily more than 10), I encountered the Shiny Meowth at the Trainer Tower in FRLG. I was so pissed I thought my 1/8000 chance for a shiny was spent on that trainer battle. I just learned today that the infamous biker in the Tower has his Meowth shiny just by default. Kind of puts a 10 year long vendetta to rest haha thanks dude

I was gifted a 2ds with Pokemon ultra moon. I also got a gift code for Xerneas and Shiny Zygarde. Both at level 100 with a gold bottle cap. They rest at poke pelago for the rest of eternity
when I was replaying White version for like the 23rd time I found two shinies in a row tynamo and klink and I caught the tynamo (it was the greatest gaming moment of my young life)
I got a taillow (Emerald), Unown (soul silver and my friend got a gastly in the same game almost same time) and a luvdisk in Oras. The last two were I farming EV and Heart scale respectively.
if you start a game with roaming legendaries and you run into a normal sprie of one and not catch it, could it be possible that yoou srun into the roaming legendary shiny version
I have no idea how but in fifth grade my friend traded my a version of black 2 and when I loaded it up there was a shiny palkia, dialga, and the other one (I fergot name) they were all lvl 100 so I got excited and traded them over to my white version because that's where I had all my good pokemon. That's also where MY COUSIN RESTARTED THE GAME

The only one found never had it tested as they had the result shown, and using a Shiny code only makes the Zoroark shiny. It is likely it would just use the Zoroark's non shiniess though as the beast is generated seprate from Zoroark.

Well, while I agree with your point of the view on most of these, I do not think that Shiny Pokemon that belong to other trainers have any place to be on this list. Sure you as a player can't catch them, but they already are caught Pokemon, so it was not a failed shiny. (Note : this does not apply to Wally though, as it's a wild encounter that could have been yours, what's even worse he clearly throws it away whenever he realizes it's shiny and goes to catch another one off screen)
Funny story: When I got my first copy of Pokemon Sapphire back in 04 it had a weird bug or glitch where it turned all of the female Cacnea into shinnies. Naturally I was 9 and didn't even know Shinnies existed so I fought it was normal for female Cacneas to be a different color, so I caught both a normal Cacnea and shiny one put them into my PC box never to give them a second thought. After I started a New Game I discovered the horrible mistake I made also the glitch no longer worked all of the female Cacneas returned to normal T_T
"Random shinies are always the most exciting" I used masuda method to get a shiny jangmo-o in ultra sun I was grinding it up to a decent level, because I wanted to use it in another playthrough My second poliwhirl encounter in malie garden was shiny. Two shinies in 10 minutes. They are definitely the most exciting, by far

Ah, the shiny Poochyena reminds me of a time I played Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. I just got back from a regular day at school, so I decided to pick up my 3DS and play some Pokémon. I was on Route 102, I walked into the grass, and BAM! Shiny Poochyena. Definitely made my day

The first shiny Pokémon I ever encountered was a shiny Girafarig at the Battle Factory in Emerald. After I beat the trainer that was using it, I put it on my team. Obviously I couldn't keep it, but it felt nice to throw a shiny Girafarig into battle.
Something that keeps me awake at night is thinking about old games where starters can be shiny and thinking how realistically 1 in 8192 isn’t that much considering how many people own these games and how so many people must have started with a shiny starter or found an uncatchable Pokemon
I'm doing a slightly harder version of a nuzlocke, you don't have to capture the first pokemon in each area but you can't use the PC (Except to release pokemon). Came across a Solosis shiny, thankfully had one spot left that I was saving for a Pawniard.
When they updated the Pokemon colours on Pokemon moon and sun I saw a rattat didn't know if that's how you spell it but what ever anyways it was grey and I thought is this going to be my first shiny so I caught it and later on I learned that it's just a normal rattat
