#2 they are NOT dogs. Entei's design is an obvious inspiration of the Guardian lion, & Raikou is based on a saber tooth. Suicune confused me at first, since it was the LEAST big cat-looking of the three, then upon further research I found out Suicune is based on a Qilin & leopards. Honestly, the three beasts don't look like dogs at all.
Everyone does *not* say dogs, at least not now. When Gen II was now, some translated them as "dogs", but "beasts" won out in the long run since two look feline and one looks a bit equine. ;)
The Beast Trio (Raikou, Entei, & Suicune) are CATS!!! “RAIKOU” LITTERALLY MEANS “THUNDER TIGER”; Entei is a volcano lion; & Suicune is a water-type cheetah-leopard hybrid!!!

The "ice cream cone" is actually a better design than you think. They are supposed to be stalactites that hang from cave ceilings through holes that they burrow themselves so they could keep its soft head protected. Also a lot of Pokémon in that same generation is a representation of how they believe America is. Trubish for the littering constantly going on in heavily populated areas (kinda like Grimer representing the polluted waters in Japan), Watchog's yellow vest for road construction workers, and Timburr's evolution chain representing the wood, concrete, and metal used to create cities. Besides, look at the "genius" of Gen 1. A rat, a cat, a rock, a duck, a couple birds, two dragons that aren't dragons, and my personal favorite, a snake spelled backwards.
reject these but leave (voltorb, Muk, rattata, ekans, ditto) people always say "omg ice cream pokemon game freak is lazy" but gen 1 wasn't even that good
Imagine if some of the pokemon we know and love today were trashed, what if there are other universe where we have Dragon 4 instead of Charizard, or if Dragon 4 was charmilion...creepy.

Honestly I know that you said that 3 months ago but game freak tends to not care too much on which animals came from what place in the real world, though they do base a lot of Pokemon around it that doesn't mean that there couldn't have been a raccoon Pokemon
AniHypes There are many Pokemon that share the same real life thing they are based off of. Like just look at the Ninetales line, Delphox line, and Zoroark line. They are all based off of foxes and a creature from folklore called the Kitsune. There are also Zangoose and the Gumshoos line which are both based off of a mongoose
Pokey fan At 4:30 in the video . It looks like some pink Pokemon with tornado arms or something. Actually , it looks more like a Clefairy or Clafable ... now that I think about it.

How can you assume a pokémon will be a Normal/Ghost type just by looking at it and then say “I’m glad they didn’t do this” as if that assumption you pulled out of nowhere was guaranteed to be true?
Missed opportunity for dobbs to say “there’s at least a hundred and fifty or more to see” after he asks us if we’ve ever wondered if there are more Pokémon that never made it to the games 😅
I bet thats's why they rejected it, it resembles PIkachu a bit too much, perhaps they wouldn't want people to call it a lazy pikachu rehash with a different type.
