Prachi di,I think a red flag that you missed was when they treat you differently in front of people compared to when you both are alone.They will treat you like you are their best friend when you both are alone and will mock/insult you when you both are in a group

I'm 33 years old and I've faced such situations in my younger days since school. All because I needed company of friends. Put up with all sorts of crap and at one point affected my personal life. In short i opened up myself to manipulation and I did everything to brainwash myself that all this is normal, it's fine, they are friends etc. Right now I'm more comfortable with myself, and I've overcome the need for friends. I'm wiser now but wow, did i pass through fire. Excellent video.

Hi Prachi, This video reminded me of my childhood bestfriend who took advantage of me in many ways. She used to tell her parents that she is going out with me and used to stay out late at nights with her boyfriend. She has strict parents, and she was only allowed to go out with me and few other friends. Then after that, she started doing things that were very unlike her like drinking and smoking. And her boyfriend was not a good person (disloyal, rude,etc) I have spent on her like no one's business... Not just money but emotionally and mentally which are more important to me. But then things happened and I decided to part ways with her. We spent around 16-17 years of our lives together and it thought I would be really difficult. But surprisingly, it was easy. The toxicity was gone and all the "heaviness" of a friendship on my shoulder was gone. I cherish good memories, but I wouldn't mend things with her as I know she will not change. So, I wish that person all the best though.

Hi Sadaf, I had exact same experience with my childhood friend and after that toxic friendship ended I was the most happy person ever but I regret spending lot of energy and fought with my family for that friend. 😒😒

I had a person who was very emotional manipulative….like if she wanted to come to my weekend home she would she will take her sister marriage reference and say ki after that she wouldn’t be able to visit later so let’s make the ends days beautiful “ ,if she wanted something from me “ she will buy me something little and add a emotional touch to it .if she wants something will make constant reminders in some or other way to make my dad reminded for the same. Take all information from me with simple talks and then use the information to manipulate others about me…. It took me a really long time to realise the patterns …it was hard to believe because this was person I grew with ….but when I got proof of her jealousy…I shunted her out from my life. I had given her more than fair chances before this when I saw the patterns closing my eyes because of roots and love..but people don’t change…so u have too…

Oh i totally agree..there is this one friend of mine who constantly do these things when she needs me..i stopped entertaining her and kept my distance as much as possible but even now she expects things from me like her bday is near and she wants me to celebrate it no matter what so she keeps clinging,she is trying to be really close to me when on the other hand she does nothing for me.. I also completely agree to the passive aggressive point that u've mentioned.. I started watching you just for entertainment purposes or just for simple life lessons but now i can relate to several things..this channel really helps.. Thanx a lot..

Great video :) There are also some people who cut you off from your own family and friends basically your well wishers so that they get full access to you and try to take advantage of you and there is no one who can object. That is also a big red flag which I feel you missed out. But great video and thanks for sharing your experiences. In the end you talked about loneliness. Have you ever faced a situation in life where you feel lonely? If yes, how did you cope up with it.

I can relate so much wid ur stories. My friends also tried to manipulate and guilt trip me and also isolate me. I don't give in to them now. I know my worth and i know that there are some mean ppl out there. Watch out for ppl who call u their besties. Mostly they are the ones who can hurt u real bad.

1) apologize for not being there, doing anything without any actual action is manipulation 2) people doing wrong with other can do wrong with u as well 3) they get mad at u, when u don't do what they wanted u to 4) they show up when they need u but vanishes when u need them 5) sweet talks, change of attitude when they need you 6) not putting any efforts emotionally, financially etc 7) they make you feel down by calling u selfish etc to make u do anything for them to prove we r not selfish 8) playing emotional card eg if u don't do this I will be sad

Hey Prachi di,thank you for this video. You might not remember,but i had shared stories of my past and you advised me what to do,i tried doing that,and i am actually doing better these days,i couldn't take up therapy but i just started taking care of myself and i have slowly realised i was miserable because i thought the same,that there was something wrong with me thats why i was lonely,i now realise it was wrong of me to think like that,i can finally say that i am healing,slowly but constantly,i paint,i write,i dance,and i have my studies too,and i am just more focused in building a career and a good happy life for myself,idk what the future holds,but i have high hopes,i will be better....this was just a thank you comment. thank you for doing what you do!

Hi Prachi Di and all lovely viewers, Hope you all are doing well. I want your advice on this matter.. So it will be great if you guys can help me.. One of my friend who is 16 years old rejected a guy who is 4 years older than her. But the problem is that the guy calls her everyday, comes outside her home, follows her everywhere. She isn't able to go anywhere now, she stopped going to tuition too.. He always gives threats that if her family won't let him talk to that girl, then he will do something that none of them can imagine. About that guy's personal info.. I only got to know this much that he has his father only who is drunk 24*7 I told her to go to police station with her family members but her family members won't agree. Even if she files a complaint, the police will give that guy a warning and then that guys may actually do something bad to her. As you all know, in these kind of situations... Rape, Acid attacks, abduction are very common.. Can you all suggest me as to what she should do in this situation ?

Your story reminds me of my friend, where my friend invites me because she cooks good Bengali foods and since I can't cook non-veg (I just can't) and she knows that I like fish and chicken. so she used to invite me every time she will make special food. I went there once and when she invited me for the second time I said you cook and I will pay for the chicken/fish that we order. While I was leaving from Bang, she invited and refused to take money because she said its on me, this time.

Hello Prachi di I want to share my feelings, as I don't have anyone to listen me. I am 22 and my sister is 24. I had a relationship in college and she came to knew about it and then she told about it to my parents. My life became hell and I started hating her. But then I made myself understand that afterall she is my sister so I can't completely avoid her.. That incident is two years old , so now we had normal relations.. But recently I came to know that she was also in relationship in her college.. And now I don't understand if she also had a relationship in college then why did she told about my relationship to parents, why was she so much against my love life , why she showed herself as a pure innocent girl, and me as a devil infront of parents , why she made my life hell..?? Now I have started hating her even more.. And I don't know how to deal with it.. We both live together in a same room . And I feel like choking being with her . Please help..

I will go with my friends first ok? friend: please dont judge this one person. i asked her permission so i am sharing. she is 22. i myself do not know what to advice her. so she downloaded this dating app to hook up. did hook up many times but once swiped a guy and he said he loves her the 3rd day without meeting. he said on a call. she clearly said her family wouldnt approve of it, and still mentioning he gave her all promises that - support her education, convince his family and everything and also didnt tell his family once about her or say his friends, he would say his friends would make fun of him which for what reason idk. but she still was knowing him and he spilled that he loves. at first she felt his obsession towards her but then she did sleep with a guy in mids with this guy who 'loves her'.. the guy (V) travelled 400 miles to meet her. made efforts. ordered food every other time. one day, the guy she slept with (H) bodyshamed her and also said he likes her. now she had to choose between H and V, but once she lied that she had some work to V but V dropped her to H and slept, then one day confessed her feelings to V. V felt bad but she told everything to V about her past relationships and how she didnt work that day but slept with H and since then never slept again with H. But V, kept making efforts and said then lets go with efforts. she wanted to run away from her toxic fam.. so she stayed with V, then V broke up in 3-6 months. was she wrong in anyway that she cheated? was it cheating to sleep when she never had feelings in first place? please guide! cheating when she was in love. she wasnt in love. so if i was in love, then yes. but i wasnt in love (you said if i were in her place) see, she was sleeping all around her attention is there, how would you expect that be in love or even be in relationship? then, she have fallen with him by his efforts, and she never slept. he said his family wouldnt approve of her. never mentioned his friends about her and he doing all such promises. i think learning your perspective, both were in fault. maybe the guy really liked girls nature and fell over heels and she doing her hookups didnt realise what she was to keep a stop since this is another guy! mind you, she just swiped with this guy never hooked up and then this all happened.. edit: and all this happened in span of 1-1.5 months, going to fast. i'll ask her more what time and day, so then i can know. the guy rushing umm, thats a red flag too.. do you know why was he rushing? to use her too? and also gave her ring on first day after talking on calls 😬 mine: I hope you all are doing good. Here is about my situation. I am really tired of my family. I have no support from them, always body-shamed me for years, so many bad words: whore, dead meat, and what not. My dad even told me motherfucker rn. I have no one in person or a friend to support me through all of this. I feel very low and since school started, I am not able to focus in my classes too. I have to wake up at 7:00 am to walk to loose weight. I have tried explaining them countless times, but what I realised is to someone who does not want to understand will be utterly useless want to go away from my toxic family. They do not appreciate me. I stay in US with my family. They have been very toxic for me. They do not understand whatsoever. I'm not completely financially independent, but I do earn and study. They think I'm earning so they blackmail me that I shouldnt go to the job and hide car keys. And now, they stopped me to work. I asked my counselors in school. no one has enough understanding of my situation. I'll lose all from all hard work I did. I have no friends or support system or close family whom I can share too. I am going through all alone. I'm 22. I dont even have friends at all to see how they are doing or also have no experience in knowing how is it to deal with such parents. To explain more about it: I just want to do somehow my passion of Psychology.I do not know who to reach out, so I am taking my heart out to discuss about how I feel. Maturity varies a lot right? and in relationships, its always about you and partner. Don't tell your parnts about it. Let her know that you wont mention hers to parents. So this is about a relative of us a very very close relatives we live almost 250km away they do Come to our house but only when there's some work of them in our city or any near by area I told my mom that it's happening again n again for years but she didn't accepted now we shifted to other place which is even more faaar by and they came here just in a week when we were shifted our even our house was not ready just hall was there to sleep and their 6 people of family came and we were 3 here already they knew already that house is not yet set we can't use all the rooms but yet they came just cause they had some work in this city this time now my mom realised the thing which I said early and accepted that they are just using our house as hotel now cause they don't even help in cooking and cleaning and other any kind of household work

My parents always tell me to do what they always like taking decisions about furthur studies. Is it also a kind of emotional blackmailing??? Means I will not be available to take my decision what I want to take as my future subjects.

Hey prachi di I am 17 years old girl and lately I got a news from my best friend that someone is spreading rumours about me that I have been physical with a boy..he was my very close frnds at a time but after a certain point of time I realised that I am getting annoyed by his talks..the way he approaches me, and even I hated a slight touch of him...so I started talking less and then today I heard such rumours about me.. My MIL manipulates me in this way coz my Co-Sis is very intelligent and Aggressive so she can't reach her ..My MIL says me lovely things but help me nothing in return..

Umm I have a question What if a friend- relation due to a certain event has got very very complicated, uk it can work out perfectly and all u need to do is have patience, give one sided efforts, and keep trying, then is it okay? I mean saving friendships is a very important thing, then we SHOULD make one sided efforts isn't it

make few attempts, esp if you were at fault, or they have reasons to believe you did something awful. if the other person still isn't making any effort, how do you know it will work out perfectly? someone who isnt making an effort for you/ give you another chance isn't interetsed in saving the relationship. time for you to move on too.

Saumya ji, it's ok to leave the relationship where there is a lack of selfworth means if it's only u making efforts and no efforts taken or appreciated from other side then it's better to leave that relationship as it ends up being toxic in the long run

I get manipulated very soon I m trying to change this but some people around me says tht m rude, selfish and have lot of attitude in me which I am nt I really care for them specially my friends but they only say these things to me tht hurts me alot and the points which you covered I relate to each and every thing u said I really want to deal with this problem but don't know how 😔

yea i have been called those things too. they called me selfish, take huge favours from me and never did anything for me in return. Now as i look back it was just a manipulation technique. people also say these things to justify their own bad behavior like, 'yea i am using her, but she is so selfish. she desreves it'. its never about you, its about them. make a list of few things you did nice for them that they have forgotten. Read it to yourself over and over again till your mind stops believing them or looking for their approval. they are hurting you because they want more out of you. also, who said being a little selfish and having some attitude is bad? It can help you protect yourself. As long as you are being a good person, not harming anyone, who are they to even judge you? to handle them - answer back, joking saying things like 'yea yea, you are not selfish at all nah? remmeber that last time you did this (mention something selfish that they did)..was that very generous of you??!' - say this in a teasing laughing tone.
