Which Sirui Anamorphic lens did you like more? Did you use any of Sirui lenses? #siruianamorphic #siruianamorphic #siruianamorphiclens

@@NOlimitsON nice video, i want to do some weedding video + interview do you think the 100 and 50 are suitable or i shoud go for the 75/35 combo ?

I got the 35mm Saturn and 75mm 1.6x perfect combo. I even mixed the flares. Neutral on Saturn and of course blue on 75. I love the separation on the 75, so easy to make things look really cool.

Thank you for this comparison! It seems like the blue flares have been toned down in the Saturn 35mm and they look really nice now. I hope we get more Saturn lenses!

With clear image zoom you can zoom in only 1.3x and get a bit of a wider shot. But you can also just crop in in post

Could you please explain the difference between Saturn aspherical elements and Venus elements, which one of them has more film character, because some say that the picture doesn't look the same and that they prefere Venus which is a touch softer and looks more organic than Saturn. thanks

To me it actually looks visually exactly the same) I’d get the Saturn for the size and weight)

Hello! First of all, GREAT VIDEO ! Keep going! Now.. I do have a question.. Can you use full frame anamorphic lenses on a apsc camera ?? I have the Sony FX30 and I’m about to buy a full set .. I love the Venus and the Saturn line .. But I’m not sure if I can use those lenses on apsc sensor. Thank you for your help!

Aside from weight and form factor, were there any differences between the two 35mm? (especially any aestetic differences)

There is one major difference no one is addressing. You won't be able to use the Sirui 1.25X anamorphic adapter on the lighter Saturn 35mm lens. I already have the 50mm and 75mm Venus series and just purchased the 35mm Venus so my kit is consistent and I am able to use the 1.25x adapter if you ever want to push the squeeze factor from 1.6x to 2.0x. This is huge in my opinion, especially if you want to also capture nice anamorphic photos for wider panoramic looking shots. That gives you a ratio of 3.55:1 on a 16x9 sensor and 3:1 on a 3x2 sensor. My canon R5C shoots 8k raw at a resolution of 8192x4320 so that is a 17x9 sensor which will yield 3.8:1 aspect ratio. This gives you a lot of latitude in post to frame your composition, especially if you use a 2.4:1 aspect ratio in your final edit. Also, the added weight of the Venus 35mm is ideal for added stabilization handheld, especially if your camera doesn't have IBIS. The Saturn 35mm was really designed for gimbal and drone use. Yes you can make your kit smaller, but there are also some compromises to that.

Thank you so much for the video, i was wondering if it was possible to use the 50mm f1.8 1.33x in a SONY FX3 full frame sensor. and i found your video. but another question, by crooping the image with this lens, do i lose a bit of the wide angle, that anamorphic lenses give ?
@NOlimitsON
@NOlimitsON Год назад
Hi! Thanks! By using clear image zoom you simple make a crop-sensor camera out of your full frame camera and the 50mm f1.8 1.33x will work as intended. So no extra losses, don’t worry

@NOlimitsON This was super informative. Thank you! Based on your videos I just rented the Sirui 35mm f1.8 1.33x Anamorphic to use on my a7IV and I'm confused which IBIS settings to use. In your reviews of the Sirui APS-C Anamorphic lenses from a couple years ago you mentioned you couldn't really get IBIS to work at all on your Sony a7(III?), but in this 10 lens review you suggest using manual IBIS settings and divide the focal length by the squeeze factor. If I'm using the 35mm APS-C Anamorphic on a full frame a7IV with Clear Image Zoom, does that mean 35/1.33 = 26.32 so I set SteadyShot focal length to 25mm? Or do I take into account Clear Image Zoom, so say 35*1.5 = 52.5/1.33 = 39.47 so I set SteadyShot to 40mm? If you could help clear this up it'd be so helpful. I tried a bunch of settings and frankly all the video looks pretty darn shaky so maybe your calculation only referred to using Sirui's full frame anamorphics on full frame sensors? And is it correct that using Clear Image Zoom is better than turning APS-C S35 Shooting mode ON?
@NOlimitsON
@NOlimitsON 10 месяцев назад
Hey) thanks a lot) in case of 35mm 1.33x you should set the ibis to 40mm😉 but don’t expect crazy good results… you’d be better using a gimbal or a tripod). And yes, clear image zoom is better than cropping in post or using the apsc mode

2:07 are you sure that the optical construction of both 35 mil anamorphic lenses are identical? on their website Surai;-) tells us, that the SATURN 35 mil uses aspherical elements to compensate optical aberrations - that is surely not the case with 35 mil Venus (perhaps the reason why it is bigger: aspherical lenses are much more effective and result in more compact lenses..)
@NOlimitsON
@NOlimitsON Год назад
I didn’t see any difference between those two)) they might be a bit different optically, but it doesn’t effect image quality at all as far as my eyes can tell

I think I will get that carbon 35mm as my 1st anamorphic lens. Two questions: 1. How did you manage to have perfect focus on all shots shown in this video? 2. The scene on 16:00 is from what video, link?

@@NOlimitsON If you buy just the 1.25X anamorphic adapter, you screw it onto the front of your spherical AF lens and have that capability. It may not work well but I have tried it a few times myself on my Canon lenses and it was ok.
