Hi Ben...I have been doing summer SAQ sessions for our boys for 4 years now and use ladder drills as part of it. Speed Agility Quickness (SAQ) is a skill, running fast is a skill that can be deveoped...massive believer in this, look at all the great sprinters they do loads of drills each training session to get more co-ordinated and to be better.. I also use loads of cone drills include 3 cone test and shuttle drill from the NFL combine test... the boys love it!! Some other drills to add to your ladder drills are 2 feet in out facing along the ladder as move along, hip twist in out with one foot as you move down the ladder, move across the ladder 2 feet in and stop on the otherside back and forwards...bit difficult to explain these in text, need to show diagram or video...anyway keep up the good work it's great that you are spreading the SAQ message!!

hey, yes ladder drills are great for coordination for the feet. I believe speed & plyo training is very important for all rugby players, young and old. whats the name of your rugby club? thanks again for following and for commenting

Hi I am a recent subscriber and I broke my leg and arm from a Bike accident and I was wondering if u could give tips on how to gain overall confidence in rugby again as I only started properly playing in Y8 and I am now in Y9 because I am 5”10 and only 13 so it is tackling which I struggle with and I know technique but it is just confidence also thx for reading this
