Minechof drummers that really isn’t as bad as how you’re describing it, the worst it can get is accidentally hitting yourself with a stick. When I was a beginner guitarist I had so many calluses and blisters on my fingers from just pressing down onto metal.

Yeah it's a good idea, but actually it's more a problem of the past, when I was using normal Sennheiser headphones for 20 Bucks. Now I've got Shure IEM which fit perfectly and are constructed in such a way, that they stay behind my back while drumming :)

I've been playing for a while and that hasn't happened to me either. I keep my snare pretty low though, so maybe that's part of it. I have hit my hands with the drumsticks though, and that can be pretty painful sometimes.
