@@xarmanhsh2981 on the other hand stamina bar, speed & move interaction is treated difrently, status still exists and affecy remtem when swiched out, move synegies give moves extra effects and there is no rng moves the outcomes of actions are garanteed and fixed. So yeah inspired is the right word as its NOT just a 1 for 1 copy/paste as you claim.

Definitely for sure!!! Other games in this genre try too hard to copy pokemon but this game takes the inspiration and does it in a simple subtle way. Plus the emphasis on double battles opens the door to learn strategies instead of steamrolling teams in 1v1 battles.

True. I love how TemTem designs feel more akin to gen 1 Pokemon in how cool and animalistic they look. Current Pokemon gens feel so...round and chibi they kinda lost me and a lot of fans.

I love TemTem and its designs but they could never compete with Pokémon designs. So much goes into Pokemon designs these days, they're chock full of inspirations and they blend biology and facets of human society together so perfectly. If you care at all about biology or anthropology, then Pokemon designs are the clear winner, and every single one is a hit.

I was a bit on the fence about getting into Temtem as I have been told in the past that it was really grindy to get into the multiplayer, but with the addition of "Temtem Showdown" I will definitely be picking this game up :D

quick question: I started playing Temtem one year ago but i eventually stopped after breeding my first perfect Tem (the fire lizard) because all the money grinding and the breeding prozess where waaaaay to grindy. So i wanted to ask if the game is still that grindy (especially the breeding). I normally like shiny hunting or even breeding in Pokemon-likes but this was way too much for me.

Yeah, it’s still a grind but with the Auction House you at least can go buy a tem you may need for a breed. If you need a male water tem with a 50HP SV you can def go buy one for cheap in stead of having to go catch it yourself.

Tip 12: You will notice a lot in my playthrough that i'll heal when i don't need to, close to a quest. This is because the Smoke Bomb transports to where you last healed so can be useful if you have to travel long distances (e.g. You start in Quetzal, you heal, have to travel the map to Tucma then travel back, the Smoke Bomb would cover the travel from Tucma to Quetzal and saves you time if you did it right).

*Friendly reminder* that the Mythical Temtem are not the equivalents of Legendaries in Pokemon, they are as strong as your overall Temtem. Also, so far there is no lore for them besides their Tempedia description and *maybe* some NPC dialogue about their existence. So, they are just an unique and special sort of Temtem rather than a "Legendary" if you were thinking of them that way.

@@GymLeaderEd That's valid, but sadly it doesn't help. Between Latios and Raticate there still is a big difference in power, Temtem doesn't have that, all fully evolved Temtem wander around 410-480 base stats or so. Fun Fact: *Base stats wise* , the strongest Temtem in the game is Tateru, *which can be literally your first wild encounter in the game* . *Another Friendly Reminder* : Many Pokemon Fans are way to uninformed and have grown up thinking that "Legendaries" = Infinite stats (they don't know about base stats, but probably think that every legendary is about 3 times stronger than the average Pokemon, which is way too false). So, comparing Temtem Mythicals to any Pokemon Legendary it's just... not okay, they aren't related in anything, Pokemon fans are better knowing that these are just a Temtem which method of taming is different than the rest (and that they do look like creatures of ancient legends ignoring the unreleased and unknown one, but only gets the looks, not the power).

For somebody who's been playing mostly Pokémon (both Official and Fanmade) all his life and once in a while Digimon (Cyber Sleuth specifically), would you recommend me Temtem, because I'm kinda in and off about, I'm not sure what to expect, is it something I'm gonna like, is it gonna be worth with my time?, I'm intrigued what it has for the most part (mostly some of the Tems themselves), yet I'm a little cautious at the same time.

I think someone like you could really enjoy Temtem. I’ve played pokemon for many years like most of us have & Temtem brings a lot cool ideas into the genre. For example how all battles are 2v2 & attacks don’t just miss. There’s no RNG in battles which I thought was kinda weird at first but after 1000+ hours it’s what I prefer in a competitive setting.

@@GodzillaEA the annoying RNG aspect of Pokémon isn’t present here, you know exactly how long effects like the equivalent of burn or poison will last etc, no evading or crit hits for no reason. The stamina system, and different typing will definitely be enough to keep you interested. I’ve played every Pokémon game, and tried nuzlockes and kaizo rom hacks and the like, and I’m obsessed with temtem atm. I don’t want to say too much, but with the different type match ups and fun little things this game has, and the totally new monsters, it feels like playing Pokémon for the first time as a kid! It’s similar enough to feel familiar, but different enough to feel new and exciting. You’ll love it!

maybe a bit late, but precision on the exp "trick" : it's not baby tem that need less exp, but tem that got their evolution canceled who got an exp bonus (+20% exp). it can be cumulated with the other exp boost : traded tem got 10% exp bonus and a tem that reach max level and is not in it's final form can evolve "for free", through the evolve option, in the tem's detail, so no need for minimonolith (in other word, your paharo will have normal exp between lv 1 & lv 8, then 20% more exp (since you canceled the evolution) from level 8 to 100. then you can resume the paharo evolution, and evolve right after to a granpah, without any item or level gain) and as sain in your previous temtem tips video, tem need to level up X time to evolve. that counter start when the tem evolve, so leveling to 99 then evolving then leveling one last level won't make the tem reach his 3rd evo (since it would have gained only 1 level) and precision about scaling, in ranked level are scaled too, so you "just" need TV and a bit of leveling, to gain access to wanted tech

Could you please comfirm that I heard this correctly: TVs, that are trainable, we can raise ourselves. SVs (the pokemon equivalent of IVs?) we can raise by participating in ranked battles without needing to breed or buy perfect SV (IV) temtem? If this is true, then this is awesome. The most frustrating part of pokémon can be bypassed by being brave and submitting imperfect temtem to ranked battles.

Nevermind. I think I understand now. Ranked battles "scale" means that they match you up with temtem with similar average of values, not that the battles raise the SVs themselves (which might need to be good for tournaments). So, you will need to either buy a bred temtem with good SVs or breed it yourself if you want to have an optimal tournament-ready temtem. I think I have that right, but if anyone wants to confirm, I would love that.

Hey Ed, curious to hear your opinion on the Battle Pass and large price jump on the full release. Seems to be making very negative waves among the fans and recent Steam reviews are getting bombed because of it, so may be worth a video. Seems the consensus that the combo of it being priced at an AAA title pricepoint, with the Battlepass and premium in game currency on top of it, is just too much greed for people to be willing to put up with. I can kinda see why they need it though, as most people are forgetting that this is an MMO - which means there are constant uptime costs involved with the servers. If you could do a vid going over the battle pass, and what paying extra for it actually gets you in comparison to not going premium it may help alleviate some of the concerns about it being pay 2 win (assuming it isn't, which up to this point I have been trusting them...)

Personally it doesn't really bug be me because the devs have been transparent about it from the start. Since early access began we knew that each island would bring a price jump that would eventually put it to full price as full launch Secondly, we've known about the cosmetic only micro transactions from the start as well. To someone whose been following this from the start, this is no surprise. People can argue if they think that the game is priced too high if they wish, and there's an argument to be made that a free model with the cosmetic microtransations could actually be even more financially beneficial, but by no means did the devs just randomly come up with this and I feel like its a another case of people getting outraged over something without even doing the research. Like u said MMOs need continual funding. I hope this answer makes sense, thanks for the comment 😊

I was told that each Temtem evolves at every 16 levels. So for the starters if they start at lvl 5 what would every 16 levels be to get to the middle stage and final stage. I was always confused about that.

Temtem evolves after levelling up a specific ammount of levels after taming them (determined for each Temtem that evolves). Starters gets their first evolutions after 29-30 levels (they differ), their evolve again after 21 or so. At least I remember well my Crystle, it evolves after 30 levels (35 if Starter) and then again after 21 levels (56 if Starter). The levelling up needed to evolve remain the same if you get a Crystle from an egg (level 1, it would evolve first at 31, then at 52) or if you catch it in the wild (somewhere between level 25-40 it appears).

I dont think so . They did the game online mmo and force you to grind so much for that reason. I wish they did the game a single player and you can play the dens alone , and you don't have to wait for a week to re-battle the gym leaders , and you can play all the end games activities for free and thinks like that . They are not sure what they are gonna do when they dont have enough players and they have to shout down the servers . I hope they give us a version of the game playable off line.

It’s not steep at all? It’s a huge game tbh, the game full story can take sooo many hours to complete and that’s before any of the endgame content. So much more value than a Pokémon game

Also they’ve already stated there are a lot of quality of life changes for 1.0 to make it less “grindy”, but even my 8 yr old daughter doesn’t find it too challenging lol. The whole point of it was for Pokémon fans to have a more challenging game… no point complaining that it’s challenging

@@tiramisumochi4787 It's not challenging is just grindy , are two different thinks. If you play pokemon red fire kaizo , that is difficult . To beat the kaizo version you have to think the best strategies and pokemons for every battle but you dont have to grind so much. Temtem is not difficult at all, just force to stay playing a lot more hours than necessary.

I Trully Hope the game It self doesnt Lost to the shuffle due to being only online game. I dont care about for keeping multiplayer Alive (im fine for private servers or such) but the story mode being strict on this stracture Will be Lost. Before todays updates I was playing through just fine without doing that so it shouldn't be much of an issue but will be helpful for postgame leveling if you're going to build a competitive team for example.

The game is fun.... But the numerous issues on consoles, battle pass just to talk to people, always online, constant disconnects, players being hateful in chat, lots of glitches, and of course the fomo forced on people in the battle pass. This game is NOT worth it. If I pay 45 for a game that is an mmo I expect at least the ability to talk to people. This is why the game is getting review bombed. And in my opinion it is justified.

Battle pass just to talk to people? There’s no communication features locked behind the battle pass. There’s local and global chat/clubs to join. Battle pass only has cosmetic items and nothing that effects gameplay
