Not the trimming schedule! 😅 I personally love finger detangling too but for type 4 curls, I feel skipping on combs was a recipe for knots for me. But I understand the preference ❤
Thank you so much guys, for watching!😊. I hope to see more of you, so please subscribe and press the like button if you enjoyed watching. Welcome curlie! ❤
This is a good example of why RU-vidrs should not be considered as experts. Do what is best for you ladies. But we can still celebrate her journey. Overcoming my trim anxiety has TRANSFORMED my hair from thin.. to now medium to near heavy density. Cutting your hair will never hurt the hair health.. just your ego alittle lol And water based products like gels and some butters can be the most dehydrating because essentially the water evaporates from your curls. Shea butter in a damp state (making the hair more pourous = absorbant) has been a great addition and hydrant to my hair. Shampooing more frequently I agree with.. but not due to buildup on your hair which is essentially dead.. but do to cleansing your scalp from buildup which could be hindering growth due to clogged pores, fungus, bacteria etc. My regime has been yes to detangle and wash more frequently.. trim more often.. no weave protective styles ( for me less damaging), now clay masks (will update on that..) .. a few new oils including rosemary, peppermint, amla.. TBD But guys this african 4c texture is a mystery to us all. Only Jesus can help us figure it out! Blessed day ladies
Oh dear! Well I’m glad trimming really helped. But I feel like the common saying that ‘trimming your hair makes it grow out faster’ is often misconstrued. Trimming your hair makes your hair healthier which in turn increases length which is why I recommend it twice a year. But trimming your hair too often, although giving your hair the appearance of thickness, does NOT make your hair grow longer! The point is, if you’re trying to grow out longer hair (which isn’t everyone’s goal), I personally feel over-trimming is not going to be your friend. Talking about hydrating your hair with shea butter is confusing because hunnie, you’re sealing WATER with your butter ( which I love too😊). So you are essentially hydrating your hair with water not oils/butter. I hope I’m clear now. Lastly, your hair is dead ie not constituted with actual living cells. That’s true, I covered that in one of my previous videos but your hair still benefits from water and protein which might not benefit the hair strands enough when there is already pre-existing buildup, you know. I’m happy to have you on my channel ❤. Please do more research and be more open to other’s opinions. You might see the sense when you do!
Shea butter can't be a hydrant to your hair except you mixed it with water. It's the water that is doing that job. Please find out what is the meaning of hydration. Thanks
Okay okay.. last reply. It’s okay guys. We have facts, we have experiences, and we have opinions. Have you guys ever taken a chemistry or organic chemistry course? What do you know about the molecules in hair? Or “butter..” I’ll educate alittle .. Most “butters..” including Shea butter are actual fatty acids with hydroxyl groups attached to them AKA water .. they bond with the hydrogen groups in your hair.. and are also moisturizing. The actual water being put into your hair causes physical (temporary) disruption of your hair bond..AKA porosity.. however again it can evaporate. This is how sealants help. But sealants also by chemical nature have some hydrating properties
Shea butter is an acid with an hydroxyl group AKA water attached to it. This is the molecular structure :) so is cocoa butter:) OH- create bonds with water and hydrogen bonds in the hair to HYDRATE. Hydration is a chemical bond, dear
Hydrogen bond + hydroxyl (0H-) = H20 even with NO water added = hydration. This is why products that define your curls highly attract and BOND to the molecular structure of your hair. Think of the DNA 🧬 molecule for a visual
Beautiful video....i can't not stay without shampooing my hair with all the products I put in??? It's a must to shampoo ....I feel you on the trimming part... Every bodies hair is thin at the ends for sure..I dust my ends if I don't dust my ends the tangles are crazy....I mean doing it 2 times a year( dusting) works great for me.....and my hair has grown better....
Your so right.....I was so obssesed with cloves after hearing its popularity but no matter what oils I mixed my hair continued breaking. So listening to hair is important. I didn't baby my ends and ended up trimming my chin level hair to nose level Once I kept a journal of what I do with my hair then got tired. I regret because I can't remember what I observed working well as sometimes I would have a thumb size breakage but now I get a handful😢 is that my door bell?
I honestly relate to forgetting what works 😭. It really makes everything so much better. Even when you have to curate a hair routine, journaling what works and what is still up for experimenting will guide you. Thank you for watching and sharing 🤍
I honestly think and good grease would do but I particularly like the kuza 100% Indian hemp and the blue magic one. I make sure to use it after properly moisturizing my hair, so I can seal in the moisture and protect my ends for proper length retention.💕
