Got the 140R as my very first bike today and it is so nice I definitely suggest it

I’m an experienced off-road rider, 5’6”, 142 lbs., finding that the KLX 300 is too heavy for me to pick up. (To folks other than the content creator, don’t respond with recommendations for how to lift a motorcycle. Falls don’t happen on level ground free of other motorcycle traffic; they do occur on off-camber landscapes that don’t facilitate the “backing up to the bike to lift” technique. I know the f*ing techniques.) So, I’m considering the KLX 140R L. I greatly appreciate your video.

Everything you said is a fact. I bought the Yamaha TTR 125. The 230 was just to big for me. On flat ground sure it was fine, but like you said off-camber on the trail you want the range of motion of your feet being able to touch. You're making the right call setting ego aside. Plus it's light enough I can maneuver and load on my own. I considered the 140L while also looking at the Yamaha. Can't go wrong with either bike. The Yamaha offered both kick start and electric start, and was a $1000 cheaper than the KLX at the dealership I was at. Enjoy the trails !

Does anyone else have trouble putting the seat back on, like I can barely get the bolts back in
@gohobby9934
@gohobby9934 2 года назад
I should probably put a video together on this topic. It's a bit hard to explain but there's a seat tab on the underside of the seat that has to slide into a fitting. If it misses the fitting, it's hard to get the seat bolts to line up. You have to push hard down on the middle of the seat while pushing it forward so that tab goes into the fitting. If you get it right the seat bolts line up pretty good. If this isn't the issue, you might have a bent subframe. I can also say that I have 7 bikes right now, and the seat bolts don't line up perfectly on any of them.

is it a bad idea for me to race 85 class on a 140rl
@gohobby9934
@gohobby9934 2 года назад
Well, it's unlikely you'll win because the 140 has about 12 horsepower and an 85 has like 22. An 85 is going to do much better around an mx track than a 140 due to it's weight, power, and suspension setup. However, if the track has only small jumps, and if you are a new rider, you can run the 140 and build experience. Eventually though, if racing is your thing, you will need a dedicated race bike like a kx85 or kx100 to be competitive.

Yes, it pulls pretty good in 1st and 2nd gear. It gets me up the hills and I'm 190. Now, I wouldn't enter it into a hill climb competition where you are trying to climb a 45 degree slope of sand and rubble for a 1/4 mile, but it will handle typical hills.
