Umm... I think everything depends on your market. I’m in philly and I did 111 rides my first week and had a day off. I did put a little over 40 hours in. They did let me instant cash out after covering the car. I would say don’t do it unless your committed to blowing this thing out the water. If you looking for part time or little extra money, just use your own car.
How much was it a week in taxes? I qualify for $179 weekly but then it says theres taxes too, how much are those taxes? And for you specifically, how much were they taking out weekly for the rental?
Alberto Rynda you know taxes vary from person to person right? The rental for a hybrid in my area is $260 that’s including EVERYTHING. My highest payout was $1500 one week. But of course that’s just revenue.
There are driving bonuses. In California give 100 rides get $100 off. Do another 35 get $45. 2 rides an hour? Wtf? You better come to the S.F. Bay. I made $145 in 4 hrs. You can make $200 a day easy.
It’s worth it in my opinion if you drive full time or part time but also have a full time job! Your going to lose a hell of lot more money in depreciation by using your own car. Your going to screw yourself 10x more using your own car. Most people don’t understand depreciation which is why they automatically think the express drive is worse.
I’m on 4th day of driving and had the rental prorated to $197 (got it on Wednesday) and it took almost 24 rides to pay that part off and the rental car was not comfortable at all! I’m driving my own car from now on and not be under pressure to pay my rental which would be $400 a week! $1,600 can be saved each month to go towards another car when that becomes necessary and I’m stress free without that rental concern.
It's not worth it. I basically worked two days for the rental in a week. Considering all the costs, risks, and zero benefit, it's much better to work at McDonald's.
Where I am in Florida it's: 70 rides = $174 per week 85 rides = $144 per week 100 rides = $ 79 per week Also, Lyft Express rentals can have Express pay sent to their account AFTER the $219 has been accumulated first. 100 rides a week is not difficult here in Miami.
the one Uber and Lyft practically keep everything. The only way to make money is to drive at least 10-12 hours a day, 4 or 5 days a week. Even then you'll make only about 400-600 if you're driving an Express rental. About 800 or so if using your own car. Thats not after expenses, btw. My suggestion to is if you're willing to do Uber/Lyft full-time you might as well go find a $10-$12 an hour job and keep your dignity. It's not worth it.
@@beesknees1726 Its not an hourly game its an average game. It's all about your weekly or monthly averages. It's just like trucking as an owner operator. In my market you can average $1,100 a week for 30 plus hrs a week. You have to multi app, you can easily make $300 a day by doing so. You have to set a goal and find out how to hit that goal continously.
This is actually pretty cool I’ve been renting cars since Covid started with Avis for Uber and then hertz rentals and after that Hyercar rental. And now tomorrow I’ll pick up a Lyft rental they are all different but I prefer big rental companies cuz they are cheaper and less car issues. Hyercar is cool cuz you get to rent out cool cars I’ve had a bmw 3 series for a few months and lots of other cars but you should only rent if you can make the money and also make a profit at least. I will continue renting as long as I do rideshare. Owning a car will cost you more when you file you’re taxes so that’s the main reason I rent cuz I pay less taxes. The plus is that you don’t need to worry about you’re own car since you’ll probably kill it doing Lyft and Uber.
william leal I have seen it between 100-140 per week. That’s a lot of rides. It’s a good deal if you can hammer out those rides. Have you started driving yet??

Okay I couldn't watch this video long enough to really get through everything but what I will say is that I have driven the rental for the past year and a half in Houston. The only problem that I have with the agreement is that while you are working to pay the lease off they take your own tips. I went to the hub and asked them why do they take the tips tips are earned we work like waitresses you know have a small base pay and then whatever you get for your tips you know you can use it in gas or whatever. I get a lot of tips cuz I always have a clean car good conversation I'm a good driver being that I have previous experience and transportation so I'm a well seasoned driver. But anyway they said that the tips were part of paying off the lease and then he tried to say just think about it you'll pay your lease off quicker with your tips added. I had to walk away from him before I slap the mess out of him because it's just not logical tips are earned the trips are you know based upon the customer calling and whatever their rate is. I think this should be more investigated. I feel that if I'm working and picking up their trips they should at least accumulate my tips made and pay me after I have made the lease with the rest of my income that I get
I drive one and half hour to work in SF, 3 rides away before I hit my first bonus ($65), passenger vomits in the car. 12: 45 am, right passed North Golden Gate Bridge. $200 more to go, also Sunday another $450. STUCK!!! Car smelled bad. I usually sleep in my car. I am out of luck !! Nothing I can do but drive back the one and half hour back to my house. And the last time this happen, lyft wanted receipt for the cleaning fee, at 1:40 am . After 7000 rides and countless overtime . Lyft will F anyone over for nickel and dimes. Thank you LYFT!! One again!!!
I thought “Express Pay” for the Rental Program was nationwide because here in the SF/Bay Area we’ve been able to use “Express Pay” after you make enough to cover the rental fee. I’m surprised to hear they haven’t rolled that out in your area.
the whole rental car program sounds more painful than helpful. rather just put a down payment on a car get an auto loan or whatever to actually aim at OWNING the car than renting and pay nearly 200ish or more a week, better to pay 200 give or take a month instead and own the car.
Okay so a couple of points here that I can give because I've been using the rental for a year and a half here in Houston Texas. Number one there are three tiers to leasing the vehicle two of the tears will give you mileage personal mileage the third tier will give you unlimited mileage. As far as the PM or the preventative maintenance/oil changes tire, yes they will let you know when it's time to get the maintenance done you can either take it to one of their affiliates or here once you schedule a driver can come to your location and check your car out tires change the air filter windshield wipers lights whatever in addition to that anytime you have any other kind of problems while you're on the road you can schedule an appointment and the drivers will come and meet you so that's a plus I went ahead this third time around when they switched out the fleet and I got a Corolla hybrid. I had to pay a $500 extra on the lease which was fine for me and then I went ahead because here in this city people drive crazy so I got full coverage, meaning I don't put down any deductible. This hybrid has worked out pretty good for me I don't put that much gas in it anywhere from 8 to $15 I run 7 days a week 250 MI and that's not even I don't even get to half a tank at all so it works out for me Houston is a wide big spread out city but I know how to run the city so it's pretty good for me
I'm curious to ask since you have experience in the rental; Which personal mileage tier did you get ? I'm still trying to decide. For me I was offered Pay as you go $89, 90 PM $124, 200 PM $184, or 275 PM $219 it didn't offer me unlimited
I tried it in Richmond VA for about 10 days from Dec 27th to January 6th I worked new years eve night made like 350$ in 4-5 hours other than that it is impossible to make money. Unless you don’t sleep. 3$ a ride not gonna get you anywhere. If everyday is like New years night than yeah why not.
You are covered for everything except personal injury if hit by an uninsured motorist while in driver mode. I was involved in a head on collision with an uninsured driver in Dec of 2020. Neither Lyft nor Hertz covered my medical bills. Now I'm left with 104.000 dollar hospital bill. I was on the clock in driver mode and there is no coverage for me the driver who rented through express drive against uninsured motorists. So beware Nevada Lyft express drive participants. I was not made aware of this by Lyft or Hertz when I signed up. nor was I offered the purchase of protection for medical coverage for collision with uninsured motorist. Accident attorneys won't bother to help you either as there is no pay out for them. Nevada law is not on your side either.
If they do bring this back in 2020 or 2021 please any new people interested in this don't it! Save your money buy a car, minivan, or SUV, solely for gig work. Look for a fuel efficient vehicle preferably, and write it off when you do your taxes. Try not to get a auto loan, but if you have to try to get something that's under $300 a month. Please make sure you MULTI-APP! Sign up for literally ever rideshare, delivery, or gig work your area allows. You always want to have many options to make money. Put 20% of your money away for taxes, 2-10% for maintenance cost. Start a 401K and an IRA to save money, and also that's money won't be taxed. If you have small children 6 yrs old and up hire them to help you clean your vehicle and as a helper if you do deliveries. You can write off what you pay them, which the max is 12k annually.
I live in Las Vegas and currently don’t have a car. I’m thinking of this as an option. I don’t need extra money, I just want to be able to make enough to be able to pay off the rental, how many rides a week would you think is needed?
It's a great deal I had a vehicle MKX Lincoln which I put in the shop using it with live I lost a lot with that vehicle by repairs which the repairs wound up being 8000 and I'm still paying for a vehicle that was in the shop for 2 months so I spoke to other people and inform them of I'm getting another vehicle I was referred to lift hub

Also I didn't continue to watch the video cuz it was just too long. But with my experience of doing this I switched over to a Corolla hybrid pay the extra $5 for the rental fee and I'm doing pretty good as far as gas is concerned I run 7 days a week and put on about 250 mi a day and I usually put anywhere from $7 in the car and that is because I don't let my car get past half a tank. If it got half a tank or passed that would probably mean I'm working 300 and something more miles within a 12-hour period. I do work 12 hours a day but I break it up so they don't shut me down early. And I know what areas to run, and what areas to stay out of. I live in a big city so most of the customers here do not have the mentality of taking rideshare like for example people that take a cab in New York. The mentality of the people in my city, are always looking to rob somebody. So I know what size of town to work and I know what time of the day to get good trips especially if customers are going to the airport. Usually when I get a trip going to the airport before I can get out they give me one coming out I don't sit at the lift whatever gate or whatever waiting for somebody to tell me to take a trip. So the rental part works out good for me on the hybrid end they just need to pay me my tips

People with these videos... basically if you want to get paid, drive all day, everyday, at least 10 to 12hrs on the clock... and eventually you'll be ready to quit in like 7 to 8 months... best thing to do is get your own vehicle by that way you dont have to worry about that rental fee every week...
@@albertorynda740 I just recently financed a car 2 weeks ago.. 250 a week for lyft rental, that's $1000 a month.. I pay $288 a month and $287 full coverage insurance for a 2018 nissan altima... that's almost half for renting and I notice the pay is much more owning. When renting say you get a 25 miles ride you may get paid $12-$15 for that trip. Owning your own it'll be $19 - $24 for that ride. So to answer your question it depends on where you finance and the type of vehicle.

I can't fathom paying $1000 a month to drive a car JUST for work, especially the kind they are going to rent to me..i'd rather finance a descent used eligible car for about 2 years..for me, it doesn't have to be as new as what u purchased, (good deal btw), just something with descent mileage that will hold up well.
You can cash out once you cover the rental cost. And now you only have to take it in to renew every 2 months. Some of this information is wrong. I do express drive so I would check with Lyft myself if I were you. This video isn’t 100% accurate

Can u drive for uber with the lyft rental program. I also do food delivery like doordash and Grubhub i mix it all in if lyft us slow ill do food delivery for lunch and dinner. I dont do rideshare during rush hr not worth it. I make more with food even with traffic.

I finnaly understand let's say you rent a car ok $200 sounds good for a week because your going to be driving taking advantage ok if you see RU-vid videos you see you could bearly make 100 in a day so to get back those $200 back you need to work 2 days to make profit you could work 8 to 10 to 12hrs but now your left 5 days your like aww profit from here right wrong because in those 5 days you make $500 you need to deduct 25% for tax because they dont take it so now you have $375 in 7 days of work not considering the gas you put and the food and drinks you need to consume thru out that week and if you going to keep renting it there going to find something wrong with the car and if you get into a crash you can not work until its resolved so basically your working for free and is better to get you a car instead
Man, i can smoke cigs, buy guns, get a LTC, and go to war but i cant rent a car because im 23. That blows. I really liked doing Lyft but i didnt want to use personal car anymore. I did Lyft all day and night. Its a fun job. Oh well, guess i gotta look for a real job.

@@TheRideshareHub San Antonio if thats what you mean by Market. I've done about 505 rides in a little over 3 months with with Lyft but i wasn't really trying. It was like a part time thing where I'd go out at night for like 5-8hrs, mostly like 5hrs 30min.
It depends on your personal circumstances. How much can you drive? What market are you in? Make sure you can get enough rides to pay for the cost of the car.
@@TheRideshareHub working 5 hrs a day, how many days to pay off the rental? I'm in Hayward, and also right next to SF so I can go over the bridge and drive there for even more work. I don't mind doing bunch of rides, just want to know on average how many days or rides it will take to pay off rental. My rental is $179 before taxes, I also don't know much the taxes are, won't show me on app when choosing a car to rent
