Starting Fourtune (AJ Styles, Bobby Roode, James Storm, Desmond Wolfe, Frankie Kazarian) in TNA was pretty damn good for Ric Flair, his feud with Mick Foley was great, and his rivalry with Jay Lethal that was epic!
I was taken to a show in 86 by my aunt and uncle and he personally asked to meet my aunt. We found out after the divorce she had ridden space mountain. WOOOOOOO
The “I’m sorry I love you” makes a little bit more sense if he was telling him to shut up during most of the match, another way you can look at them saying it “don’t worry, I got this.”
That story about Vince really makes me want to see a biopic on him. I know there’s a lot of madness to his method but I know deep down there’s a man who really loves the business
He's right about selling being a lost art. Ring of Honor just put the Raven vs CM Punk Dog Collar match up on their channel, go watch Raven selling after the match. It's brilliant.
actually he was to a degree... he never even remotely had the same amount of success in the WWE as he did in WCW. He was pretty much a second rate heel most of his run there, then delegated to HHH's sidekick in Evolution and having a couple nostalgia runs before being shot like ol' yeller by Shawn.
A woman went to a pet store to buy a parrot. She found one for 20 dollars. She asked why so cheap. The clerk told her that it came from a whore house. She figured that was ok so she bought it. When she got home the bird looked around and said "new house. New Madame" the woman was a little surprised but let it drop. Her teen daughters came in and the parrot said " new house. New Madame. New girls" well they let this go too. Finally, the lady's husband came in and the parrot said "Hi Bob"
People forget that selling was supposed to be the selling of the believability of the match. Like, say when shawn Michael's hits you with 2 sweet chin musics and then you think it's over. Where does the "selling" kick in? And if you answered how you take the move, or if you look like you're pain or knocked out because of the kicks, then you're wrong. It's about when you kick out of the second sweet chin music, then when you kick out, shawn Michael's would be absolutely SHOCKED. And maybe he would get a little pissed and back up to lean on the bottom of the ropes, completely bamboozled that someone kicked out of his finisher, twice. That would cause ANYONE anxiety, and that's the magic of selling. The entire magic of the Undertakers undefeated wrestlemania streak was behind the selling. When someone takes him to his limit and then you would actually think his streak would be broken, that's because they're selling the match and building up the drama of the match. They believe in what theyre doing and that makes the audience believe in what they're doing. Theres a reason why pro wrestling is often considered a soap opera for guys lol.
Think he's right about modern selling. There's no build to a come back. As goofy as Hogan was about Hulking up it was something. Now it's just bam I'm coming back.
That moonsault thing's kinda funny, especially when his longtime buddy and peer, Terry Funk as able to do moonsaults at such an advanced age himself, ha ha.
Ric Flair and Taker are 100% right - art of selling and storytelling are almost extinct. That`s why I prefer rewatching 1996-2012 period of wrestling matches rather anything from past 8 years - I don`t see any story behind the matches anymore - just a bunch of spots without any proper selling. And I`m not talking about moments of SUPERselling, but through out all the match and after it
Thanks for making these videos they are keeping me totally entertained during this quarantine. For that sir you get 13 min 58 seconds of my life and a “👍🏼” ! Cheers and stay safe! WOOOOOoooooo!!!
Ric kept saying “80’s Fun” when chatting about his 90’s run in WWF. I assume either he forgets when he was in the WWF originally or 80’s fun is drinking and 90’s fun is more drugs and that sort of nonsense.
Hey Andy at 2:49 your light switch starts wiggling on your wall, you need to give your light switch some love it just wants its 15 minutes of fame. It's just sitting there dancing away with no love that's a true shame. Oh wait the thermostat is at also.
is someone or some people banging against that wall. the dials and plugs keep pulsing. anyways thanks for saving me time to watch the interview. perfect breakdown love it. stay safe. all the best.
i am glad one of the major players invovled finally spoke the truth about why flair/hogan didnt happen at WM8. depsite the propaganda wwe has put out. it had nothing to do with poor house show sales, reactions, attendance. it had everything to do with a heel champion flair and a departing hogan. who can be booked to win?
So.... where is the line up to give Ric money to get chopped.... i'd drop a 50 on a "Hello, thank you Mr Flair" *WHACK* "Thank you Mr. Flair" *walks off*
Flair was so limited in the ring its not even funny....Yes he had charisma,he could cut promos but that was basically it! He even stole the whole nature boy stuff from the REAL nature boy Buddy Rodgers!
Jennifer Bogacki Andre the giant... no. It doesn’t hurt at all, he said himself he had a technique that sold it without actually hurting anyone. If you meant full force, I’d agree.
Ric Flair and Steve Austin's number 1 piece of advice to today's wrestlers: "Be careful lads, women don't know how to keep their mouths shut like they used to back in my day!" Sorry Ric, you don't get to choose how people will remember you. If you act like a sexually assaulting asshole in your youth that will forever be a part of your legacy.
thought Whatculture had alot of Subscribers but now after visiting PEWDIEPIE'S Channel LOL, He has 104 Million Subscribers , Whatculture has 1 , 9 Million as Jim Ross would say ' OH MAH GAWD!!! '
Only "worked in TNA because he needed the money". Well stop fuckin' around on your wife which ends up in divorce. 5 marirages and 4 divorces do not come cheap.
That’s how wrestling news works, something happens or someone says something and the “Wrestling news channel “ tells you what happened and who said what, it’s kinda the whole point of this type of channel
I wish Flair hadn't wrestled again after that great retirement in WWE, but he didn't owe Vince an apology for working for TNA. He's a pro wrestler, he wanted to work (or needed to) and another company offered him the chance to do it. Ruins the story a bit, yes, but man's gotta earn some dollars. Vince makes it clear over and over and over and over again that this is a business, but whenever the wrestlers aren't completely loyal, then bring out Vince's whining towels. Jesus, he's such a Trump.
You need a deeper appreciation of the art of wrestling, it’s not just a 10 min get as many impressive moves in as you can thing, you need to tell a story with every match, problem with today’s wrestling as compared to say the 1980’s wrestling is it’s all cookie cutter, you go first then I’ll get some moves in then you take back over then last second I’ll roll you up for the win. Lame, flairs character was never meant to be a great move wrestler, his whole gimmick was how he talked his way into a fight that he could not win then cheated to win then talked more crap
