Can - Meaning that it if these phrases are appropriate to the situation then they can be of good value. Remember it’s the WAY you speak that it’s mostly picked up by the listener. Timing and context is crucial here.
Thank you for watching my friends❤️

Another thing you can do is don't ask them loads of questions at once. I've spoken to a friend and turns out they used to self harm too but I've noticed that every once in a while they ask me a question about it like how bad the cuts are, why etc. but then they might change the subject after depending on how much of a response I give and I always have the option to say if I don't want to talk about it and honestly I find this a lot easier to open up about it. Sure it takes time but long term if I am struggling I am more likely to let them know than anyone else.

Yes it’s a “when not to speak” kinda thing. Timing is crucial

@@YouthPotential Definitely. Also if someone asks to many questions at once then it can cause the other person to become defensive very quickly as it is too much too soon and then they would be less likely to 'open up' again

Thanks so much for your recommendation on what to say. I think just being understanding and open and loving without being judgemental is key. May God bless you.
