@Idiot Rodger What do you mean downhill quick? There’s only one more, and it was awesome. As for Creed, the only thing I didn’t like was the revelation that Apollo was an adulterer. I don’t think we needed that.
@@evfenton78" Eye of the Tiger "was a great song for the first Rocky...but Rocky IV was a bit more complex in many ways, this song fits the movie perfectly.
Robert Tepper nailed it pretty well, the song is brilliant and the scene is epic. By the way the training montage with "War" is quite good too... probably my favorite scenes in the movie.
Big K he sure does. Also, I’ve bought a bunch of the old toys and cool shit we had from those days. It’s fun to watch him and his buddies playing with it. What a time.
😀😃😄😁😆😅🤣😂🙃🤣🤣🤣 ok just plain awesome. There are also about 592 thousand musical montages. Right? I mean the movie is what 90 mins and 72 of em are montaged.
I was going through a bad time as a kid when this movie came out. My best friend died at 14 yo in a car wreck and I was going to a terrible middle school in a bad neighborhood. This movie along with the first Back To The Future got me through those bad times. I watched it as much as I could and I was always inspired by Rocky. So I have fond memories of this film.
I used to lift weights to those training montage songs for years. Ah, the good old days. 😁 I used to make mixtapes and listen to them on my Walkman, just like you’ve seen in Guardians of the Galaxy.
I did too although many years later. I remember buying the soundtrack in 1998 and getting a funny look at the guy ringing it up like "this is cheesy,,why are you buying this?"
Yup it inspired me to work out as well. I owned the soundtrack on CD in 1999. Before that as a kid I would record it on audio cassette using a microphone to pickup the sound while playing the movie on VHS
Speaking of Clint Eastwood, how about getting some classic westerns on the playlist? The 60s, 70s, and 80s were a golden era for those. Seems like my Dad always had one running in the background. Those were the days.
Rocky IV had the best soundtrack of all of them, even the Creed movies. I have a lot of tracks from them on my iPod (yup, iPod. Sue me) & workout to Burning Heart, No Easy Way Out, Heart's on Fire & War. Plus, Double or Nothing is underrated.
Rocky 4 was also the inspiration for the Predator movies. After fighting Drago, someone working on the film said "Who is he going to fight next, an alien?" and they developed it from there
So... in addition to being a gigantic, jacked-up Swedish guy, holding a degree in chemical engineering, a 4th degree black belt in karate, and literally being He-Man, you're saying he *also* literally knows the Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique? Jesus Christ Dolph, lay off the over-achievement juice!
This is my favorite Rocky sequel. The Robert Tepper song "No Easy Way Out" is great. I may be bias as a life long Philly resident. It's hard to pin point why I really dig this movie, but yes, guilty pleasure and easy to watch.
@@bombercountyblues I have run up the steps but would say it's more of a tourist thing. People who live close to the museum run up it as part of their workout, but I doubt many locals go out of their way. From what I understand the statue was always in front of the Spectrum once Rocky 3 (I was 5 when Rocky 3 came out) wrapped, except when Rocky 5 went into production; after Rocky 5 wrapped it went back to South Philly. I used to meet friends for hockey games and say meet me at the Rocky statue, it was a landmark and easy to find. When it became time to demolish the Spectrum, the city put it in storage as they discussed whether to place it at the museum. The Art Museum didn't want the "movie prop" but the unsilent majority wanted it there. After some negotiation the art people relented and it was placed at the bottom of the steps. There is a plaque at the top marking where Stallone stood during the first movie though. If the Spectrum was still standing I'm sure the statue would still be there. It was not a major issue until they put it into storage.
Wrong! He was in Masters of the universe, which was released in 1987. Rocky 4 was released in 1988. So, not such an interesting fact at all because it's 100% wrong
Yeah, Stallone said, “Hit me as hard as you can.” And woke up in the ICU. Dude also speaks 5 languages, was the champion kickboxer for his country and is a chemical engineer. Bad ass dude for real
John Brown ~ i couldn’t find it at first and this wasn’t the article I read but it wasn’t his ‘nation’. He won what was considered the European championship plus a couple others. Link below but let me know if it doesn’t work kyokushineveryday.com/2019/04/25/dolph-lundgren-dolph-lundgren-a-great-practitioner-of-kyokushin/
@@izzojoseph2, thanks. The article's broken English made it a difficult read, but I was able to verify. I much appreciate your citation of the article. Learned something new. Red Scorpion!!!!
John Brown ~ you bet. Glad I found one. I knew I remembered ‘National Champion’ but didn’t know that it was actually European ~ I learned something also! I think JCVD (Jean Claude Van Damme) is a ‘National Champion’, too, except I think of his country ~ ‘muscles from Brussels.’ Didn’t google to verify, too lazy right now 😆
@@AnnieBoBannie421 Yeah, Stallone was having discussion on Instragram with fans yesterday. He confirmed that the robot is already in the junkyard and turned into a beer can.
Yyp, and not just cause he bet every single penny rocky had on Drago which is why they were poor in Rocky 5. Why Rocky gave full access to every penny he had to Paulie of all people is way, WAY BEYOND idiotic.
This is gonna sound weird but Creed's death is personally one of the most haunting "long standing character death scenes" in any franchise I've seen . I think it's the slow motion sequence where he falls forward and a trail of blood almost floats in mid air . . I don't know if it was intended to be shot like that but it worked so well
Weathers probably got even more upset later when they turned his character in a scumbag who cheats on his loving and classy Wife. Also a man who ignores/ abandons his bastard Son. Way to perpetuate stereotypes in the name of money grabbing...🤨
To each his own i guess , not much of a story line and alot of montages . Even taking a ride in the Lambo was a montage - welp gotta fill time somehow .
Awe YEA!!!! One of all time favorites. Love jamming the sound track at the gym!!!! The Sega game as freaking AWESOME, we always wished you could fight clubber and Drago!!!
I'll never forget the time I went to see this with my family. When Rocky started pounding Drago, my mom stood up and yelled "Thataboy, Rocky! Knock him on his ass!" Yep. Good times. I miss her.
He was the CIA agent in Predator Dillon! You son of a bitch! [They arm wrestle in mid-air during a handshake, Dillon is apparently losing the contest] Dutch: What's the matter? The CIA got you pushing too many pencils? Huh? Had enough? Dillon: Make it easy on yourself, Dutch. [Dillon begins to lose further] Dillon: OK, OK, OK! Dutch: You never did know when to quit, huh? Dillon: Damned good to see ya, Dutch.
@@chadalcock7275 I understand but they are so harmless and forgettable that pulling them out sounds even pointless. Let's wait and see how the director's cut turns out.
The insurance company didn't believe that Sly got his injuries. They kept insisting that he was hit by a car. Then they showed the footage of him getting hit. Man can hit you hard enough, it looks like a car hit you.
This movie is a cinematic masterpiece and I'll hear no blasphemy about it. It delivers the Cold War schtick awesomely. I saw it in the theater when I was 12. When I walked out, I had an American flag draped over my shoulders and a bald eagle perched on my shoulder.
Stallone said the Robot would be cut from the Directors Cut release of Rocky IV. I'm upset about that! I almost want to start a petition to keep the robot in the movie.
Definitely my fave Rocky with great soundtrack and 80s cheese! I heard Dolph was standing on a box for the Apollo fight touch gloves scene! The part about Paulie and the robot is funny 👍
"Its always messy when court cases get in the way of creativity.". Yeah, just ask Amber Heard and her creative stories about her marriage to Johnny Depp.

I love Rocky IV and I don’t feel guilty about it. It’s the best Rocky movie. Also my best friend had the video game and we spent hours playing it. I was really good at the mini training games. Good video Minty.
It's interesting because Carl Weathers and Dolph Lundgren have been together a lot in recent years taking photos and doing interviews together. In fact they were in a Gold's Gym and they both looked to be in great shape. Good to see that there wasn't any lingering anger or resentment.
If you guys have time, check out Dolph Lundgren's Ted Talk here on youtube. I had no idea some of the hardships this guy has gone through. It was heartbreaking to hear some of the things he endured. It made me have mad respect for this guy and I wish him continued success in life
I don't consider Rocky III and IV guilty pleasures at all. They have amazing cinematography, fights and awesome dialogues, better than a lot of movies the critics suck the balls nowadays.
I always loved this one. I know it's bad but it's still my favorite. Maybe it's nostalgia or that I saw it as a kid. When you're like 5 and hadn't seen the others films the robot looked pretty exciting. But yeah.... that was crazy lol.
I agree, Apollo should have never died!! Apollo should have fought another boxer and won the fight with his living in America James Brown entrance, he just got demolished so badly by Drago that it was just embarrassing! Drago should have fought Rocky for the title, we should have never seen Drago fight both Apollo and Rocky!
Great vid Minty! Love Rocky 4. One of my all time favorite movies. and that soundtrack is killer. As a kid the robot didn't bother me but as I got older I thought "Yeah, that robot needs to go" lol. Definitely one of the best training montages as well.
Went to watch it in the cinema with my Dad when it came out, people were cheering and shouting "Rocky, Rocky" Great memories , stuck with me from 35 years ago 😬
Hey, I’ve always enjoyed Masters of the Universe! Dolph’s performance rocks! I’m sorry, Minty, but the Survivor classic heard here is titled “Burning Heart”, not “heat”. I’ve got to make sure that is specified, because it is almost a better composition than “Eye of the Tiger”. Thank you for specifying that the absence of Bill Conti had to do with his involvement in scoring the original Karate Kid.
