I'm gonna be the turd in the punch bowl that says I don't understand the hate for the W990. I think it's a good looking truck, but then again, I also loved the International Lone Star when it came out.

I feel the W990 is a great looking truck,and I,too,don't understand the hate for it. As for the International Lone Star,....well,....it's okay,I guess. Back to the W990,...I like the way the dash is laid out,too!

I actually quite like the looks of the W990, it looks like a W900 with a modern flare. Also, Kenworth has announced that they have no plans to discontinue the W900, due to it being extremely popular.

I don't mind the truck myself, but I wonder if it would look better if they put a more classic style headlight on it. Those huge lenses grab my attention every time I look at it.

I also think it's bad @$$, especially the daycab. Not to mention I like the 2.1 meter cab versus the 1.9 meter. It's just a more comfortable and quiet cab.

I can totally see the resemblance between the hood air intakes and traditional round air cleaners. It’s so obvious! Really slick.

I love the W990 it’s in my top 3 production models in the KW line up 1. Flatglass W900 L or B 2. w990 3. T800

I think people are forgetting that the W990 goes right along with the T680 and T880. Which is why it shares a lot from the T880S and T680 except that it has the long hood like the W900. Not different from what the T660, T800 and W900 are all similar except for the hoods and front axle placement. The W990 just gives people another option.

@@jackschromeshop8296 Exactly, just like the T680 and T880. I would love to see all these trucks stay in production cause it gives their customers different options. Some are gonna like the classic trucks where as some are gonna like the newer generation of trucks.

Unpopular opinion that I have, W990 may be a long hood t680 but. I’ve driven a t680 before when my faithful 379 Pete clocked out on me one day. And the t680 pulled great. If the w990 can pull like my 379 and that t680 did then I would take one in a heart beat. And I like the looks of it. Videos online don’t do it justice, go to your nearest kw dealer if they have one and take a peep at one. Other than the parts bin interior that is shared with the t680. The W990 is a beautiful truck. But I was always the guy that preferred the 379 Pete over the w900.

Videos do no justice to these trucks, I thought they looked like hell til I saw one in person with an old school paint job down in IA. They are pretty trucks, the interior leaves a lot to be desired though, that black plastic dash just looks cheap. I’ll keep my 14’ W900 glider for now.

I love this truck. I drove one. Feels much better then the 900. BUT!! One thing nobody talks about is driving the 3 axle 990 in winter. They are ridiculously bad. To dangerous. And won’t turn we’ll just goes straight. Not like the 880

Chuck not going to happen there is already a driver shortage! Most gliders built have a 1993-1999 model motor in them now they won’t have the truck payed off by 2021!

I own a w990 its very very nice. That being said I never driven the w900L. It is very quiet inside very comfortable driving. Barely feel the road. The looks are not that much different. Major noticeable difference is the air intake. And the w900 has that weird shaped bunk where the w990 smoothed it out on top. Inside its a fraction smaller than the w900L. I really hate how kenworth made the 2nd stack as a replica and non functional. Idk if I can connect it without warranty issues if anyone knows please let me know that's the only thing that really bothers me about it. I like the double stack look but I don't want the extra weight if it's not functional.

Awful truck but good video. The W990 is a disgrace to Kenworth, doesn't deserve to have a KW badge on it. It's no where near the quality and beauty of the W900. Kenworth really lost their way. The Aerodyne cab is what defined them. KW threw all their originality and history away, the W900 was and is the definition of a Kenworth. Really sad to see where KW is headed because they were my favorite since I was a kid.
