I found this video because of the fire in Gatlinburg this morning, and it looks like this is a place I must add to my bucket list. I pray for those affected by the fire.
Been a visitor since 1979, at least once drive the Historic Motor Nature Trail. It starts at the end of Airport Rd past the entrance to the Park Vista Motel. It's a beautiful drive high above Gatlinburg. We go down 2-3 times per year and always do the trail!
Grew up taking church retreat tips to Gatlinburg, take my kids, and now my grandkids. I can't explain exactly why,, but this place has always just soothed my soul. It's just a feeling of contentment and escape from the world and all its troubles. It's magical to me, simple and slow-paced like coming home. LOve it.
If the only Ripley's Aquarium you've been to is the one in Myrtle Beach, give the Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies a chance. It is way better than the one in Myrtle Beach.
@@GP-mk5tj I'd give it a try next time. I don't understand the difference in quality between the Gatlinburg and Myrtle Beach aquariums. Sure, the Gatlinburg aquarium isn't as good as the Georgia Aquarium or Tennessee Aquarium, nor is it the value that the Fort Fisher Aquarium is, but it's still a solid aquarium in my opinion.
There pretty similar to me I'm from myrtle beach been there many times been to the Gatlinburg 4 times. My kids always want to go every summer we go to Tennessee so I'll probably be back again soon I actually havnt been in th myrtle beach one in couple years though but I been there so many times I grew up in north myrtle.
I have enjoyed many a box of taffy from the Ole Smoky Candy Kitchens as a child and young adult!! So glad this place is still open.i love Gatlinburg and Cherokee
Our children live close to Gatlinburg so we are blessed to leave the swamp of Florida and visit Gatlinburg every year.. God's country for sure🙏🇺🇲 Another great video THANK YOU
Leaving in two days to spend a week with the family, Gatlinburg is our home base but exploring the surrounding cities looking for a place to move we enjoy. Good video, well rounded, not aimed at one specific group.
You'll love Oakridge... small town feel but close to Turkey Creek where there is plenty of shopping... when you get the time head up the road a piece to the small town of Norris and check out Norris lake.. absolutely beautiful.. look into renting a floating cabin in the summer.. super fun for a unique vacation experience!
@@georgedimele8595 guess who went to Norris Lake today?!? Absolutely beautiful! I can’t wait to see it this summer with all the trees in full foliage. We will definitely be spending some time there this summer.
Thank you for this! I go up to Tennessee every summer to see family and enjoy mountains , ive been to most of those places but some I’ve never been! I’ll have to check them out when I go this year!
i go to the smokies often, but gatlinburg rarely. so yes, you can have one without the other. gatlinburg is a great busy little city with plenty to do. but for me, the quieter side, the north carolina side, bryson city, cherokee and maggie valley ARE the smoky mountains. just one persons thoughts.
Found cheap flights from Boston to Knoxville, started doing research on eastern Tennessee. I’ve been 3 times since may and want to squeeze another trip in. I’ve stayed in Knoxville and pigeon forge. Next time I’ll stay in gatlinburg.
I live in Tennessee and have been going to Galentburge ever since I was little. If you go, you have to do the ghost walk of Galentburge. They take you on a tour and tell you true stories of what has happened in Galentburge. Go eat some wings at Big Daddy's pizzeria. Stay at the Margaritaville Resort in Galentburge. As you walk in you feel relaxed because they have pipes in the walls that pump a coconut smell in the resort. They have a huge pool with a water slide that is fun for everyone and you can order pool side drinks from the bar. It also has an elevated deck with a pool with chairs and tables in the pool, so you can relax in the pool and drink or sun tan. You can get a pool view or a street view and either one is a great view. The pool view has a view of a parrot made out of tiles on the pool floor and the street view, views Anakesta. If you slide down the pool slide at night you can see at the top the lights from the sky bridge. I hope y'all have a fun trip to Galentburge and it will be fun for the whole family.
Just watched this and your PF video...great stuff man! Been to both places a few times but you showed a couple attractions I've never seen! You have a new fan!
I'll try to see a walking trail and water falls called Laural Falls and 2 swimming holes. Get back to nature area. Looks pretty area. I visit and walking area end of July 2022.Cant wait for some FUN!
Interesting, I was just in Maggie Valley North Carolina this past weekend for Mini truck Nationals. I live in Pennsylvania and will be going to next years show and after watching your video, Gatlinburg will be on my list. Thanks for posting this video!
I go to Pigeon forge and Gatlinburg often because we don't live but a couple hours away. This is my home away from home! We will be coming next month and I think I've done it all there. I love this place and the people are just amazing. Thank you for the video! ✌🏼
This is so subjective. I've been going since 1997 and have done almost everything. Picking a pancake house is near impossible because everyone's tastes are different. Anakeesta is fairly new while Ober Gatlinburg has been there forever, I think you can do either one, don't have to do both.
Best place to eat hands down is The Best Italian Restaurant. We have been eating at the location in the plaza nearest to the Park, it’s soooo good! Best pizza ever.
I was there in Gatlinburg last year in June and also in 2020 in June as well. We fell in love with it and the great Smoky Mountains. We will be there again next week.
I'm a local here in Gatlinburg and this was a great vid! I just started a channel to help people who can't make it so I'm looking for subs if you have any tips..lol. Great job
Great video sir. Just booked my first ever trip to Tenn. Coming in July and staying in Gatlinburg for the week. Cant wait to experience everything the city has to offer. Hoping that you have a video of best places to stay or could offer some suggestions. Thanks again.
Great information… thanks. I’m planning a family vacation in August and this helped a lot. I would love for you to visit Panama City beach and Destin Florida. We went on a vacation last year and it was great, wife and kids want to go every year now 😆. God bless.
Fantastic! This was sooooo helpful. We are visiting for two weeks in the fall after being away for about 15 years. You showed me things I never saw anywhere else.
We were just in Gatlinburg on vacation and we were discussing a few places. We went to the sky lift, the Smoky mountain petting zoo, Cades cove, and Alcatraz East. Since we made it our home base now we plan to go back and see the Titanic and the Anastasia. There is so much to do in the three connecting towns. Maybe we will go to the water park, the island, and Dollywood next year.
Please Make Sure That If You Choose A Cabin(Expensive or Reasonably) That They Test n Treat For Bed Bugs)….My Family n I Have Been Vaccinationing In Sevierville Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg For 25 years with no complaints However This Year We Brought Alone A Senior Citizen Married Couple and the Cabin We Rented Was Invested With Bed Bugs😤😢😭 and they were so uncomfortable
The nearest regional airport to Gatlinburg is McGhee-Tyson in Knoxville. I’ve made the 9 hour drive from FL many times over the years, but now usually fly. I would much rather fly into Knoxville and make the hour drive to the mountains. So much easier on the nerves to not drive through Atlanta.
I’ve been to like three weeks ago and it is so beautiful I really really really miss it so if you have the opportunity to go to there please because it’s just so pretty and beautiful and do you have a amazing animal hair book a trip to Margaritaville in Gatlinburg because it’s just amazing so please go!😄
"Well, it was Gatlinburg in mid-July And I just hit town and my throat was dry Thought I'd stop and have myself a brew At an old saloon on a street of mud There at a table, dealing stud Sat the dirty, mangy dog that named me Sue".................................
Is it worth visiting in the fall? Thinking about a family vacation in mid October. I am a northerner so excuse the ignorance if the answer is obvious. 😎
I loved the park and everything it has to offer but I found Gatlinburg way over rated. To damn crowded. Not enough of about heritage more like an amusement park.
I suggest everywhere except The Melting Pot restaurant because of food contamination, all meats are cooked in the same oil. Anakeesta also because I saw one of the servers crying to another one that the kitchen manager was racist to her at there smokehouse restaurant.
Unfortunately Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge is all about the all mighty $$$! I fear that Townsend, the peaceful side of the Smokys will follow that trend.
Be prepared to lose most of your time stuck in traffic ,watch you tube channels Everything Autos for parking safety ,Vacation Station for short cuts,Smoky mtn family for dining reviews.
@@ChadGallivanter 1st time I'd seen your channel ,good video .I'm at GSMNP 3-5x year ,just hard to find a good wknd there anymore ,so crowded, but always gorgeous 🙂✌
@@watchingcorruption295 Thanks. You sound like me. I like the Gatlinburg and PF I remember from the late 70s and most of the 80s. Way too many chains there now.
Gatlinburg‘s ok, if you like a lot of tourists and cheesy shops! i’ll be honest with you. I wasn’t impressed with Tennessee and straight up…..Nashville sucks! as far as the food goes, there is a lot of good food, but I didn’t find any great food the Greenbrier was the best steakhouse in town, and a taste of Italy is the best Italian in town. Don’t waste your time with Anakeesta that was total waste of money. oh, and by the way everybody California sucks too so please just stay away. Do yourself a favor do not come to California it’s terrible here especially if you’re from Tennessee. That definitely won’t work out well for you. Just sayin
If you like hiking and nature and quiet walks, avoid Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge like the plague. What a bunch of rude tourists there are there. Way way way too many people
