I lived in London for almost 15 years, the major problem with London is the time it takes to get around in the city. It can take almost 40 minutes to get across the city.

I don't miss that. Or when you wait for a train only for it to backup and go the other way?

Homelessness is all by design. I worked with the homeless, hiv, drug addiction and it a pattern from the street to jail, back to the street then back to jail. You wanna hear more ?

I was born/raised in St Thomas/London, raised my kids there too...moved away 11yrs ago to get away from the hustle and bustle- first Nova Scotia, now Newfoundland. You describe London very well- I had friends in each part of the city, and you hit it spot on (EOA, LOL). As home sick as I get from time to time, I cannot imagine ever moving back- it was chaotic a decade ago- now it's all twice as as much- no thanks for this old gal, I'll keep my memories of what it used to be....lovin my little ocean front property no mortgage, no car payment ;)

Between 1992 and 2006 I ran an in-town courier business. I used to call up the people at City Hall and begged them to tear up the CN and CP tracks and re-route them to south of the 401, except for the tracks that pass north/south at Adelaide and Commissioners, in case some train cars need to make it into downtown. The city admitted that that should have been done 50 years ago, but that it was too late now/then. They didn't like it when I brought up that they NEEDED to make Sunningdale an extension of Veteran's Memorial, the rich people on Sunningdale be damned. But the worst traffic in the city (other than the tracks downtown) is the northwest, especially Sarnia Rd to HP, to OX to Wond, where they allowed the tracks to ruin that subdivision as well..

I lived in Oakridge and then Proudfoot for the first 13 years in London. I am in Glen Cairn (southeast) for the past 14 years and I think it is a better area. More affordable housing, nice neighbourhoods and parks plus its easier access to the 401.

Hey Ryan, loved your video on this topic. Im orginally from North York specifically Jane and Finch neighborhood so when I got the opportunity to go full remote I just had to take the chance and buy in London because as they say, "keep on driving till you qualify" Can I ask what are your thoughts on Pond Mills and Commissioners area.(closer to where the plaza with TD is) I moved here and so far I like it.

I know this video is 2 months old but it should be noted that the homeless population is largely in part due to Toronto putting their homeless on a one way bus to Kitchener/Waterloo and then they bus them here. There is a current article about there being 350ish documented that have come from there. It is awful that a city would treat people like this. And London doesn't have the resources to help them.

Hey, you never talk about which neighborhoods to avoid due to the railroad running through them and the train noise. Any advise on this ? I assume avoid being near Sarnia road ?
@ryancrits-londonontariocan4732
So, unless your the street that backs onto the train tracks, you aren't going to hear much. As long are your one or two streets away you will be fine noise wise. The only exception would be if you live near the giant train yard at Egerton or the one by Adelaide. That might be a bit more noisy. Sarnia road has an overpass - so I wouldn't be too concerned about living near Sarnia road regarding trains.

London is horrible. I grew up there, left in the mid 90's. It used to have more millionaires per capita than any other city in Canada,.but that was a long time ago. London is kind of like east Vancouver in way. Where theres a weird mentality that doesnt make sense to those not from there, but makes peefect sense to those who are. Its almost like it has its own culture thats kind of broken. But the people there will chalk it up to, like aww everywher has crike and violence and whatnot. Butnits really not the case on that scale or geenrral dispositionsl towards thatbtype of stuff. Theres a reason East Vancouver was rhe example I used lol. Its the onoy thing comparable ive seen in Caanada

LOL, I rarely go east of Adelaide. Once in a while I like to go to Forest City Surplus and a Dutch store, but the dumpiness of the area never attracted me. It's very peaceful near the Elsie Perrin Williams Estate.

I noticed a massive increase in house listings in the city. But the median price is down almost 10% from last year. Any idea what's going on? Something I should know as a home-owner?
@ryancrits-londonontariocan4732
With the interest rates rising, the average price is starting to decline. It has dropped two months in a row. As for the number of listings - they aren’t t being sold quite as quickly so there is a bit more inventory out these right now.
