It's goes further with the Flock and ministry stuff. The original version of the Flock was Ravens nest in ECW. And they infamously did a angle where Raven and the Nest crucified the Sandman. This angle was infamous because Kurt angle was in attendance at the event and was negotiating with ECW to join the company but upon witnessing it left the building and signed with WWF. A few years later The ministry of Darkness does the same thing to both Stone Cold and Stephanie McMahon
Beling that the main principles (with one obvious exception)) are all in the Kliq, did any one truly rip anyone off? They're best friends, wouldn't their styles be somewhat similar anyway?
Big words stacked on top of each other with the word "LIVE!" at the bottom was WWF copying WCW? Then ALL American (LIVE!) TV show events (in sports/entertainment/even politics) copied WCW as well? 🤣🤣
Yeah but this is a list of ALL the ones you didn't notice and happened low key without you noticing or thinking about it. TLDR THESE are those you didn't know about it.
I'm still disgusted by the simultaneous exploiting addiction storylines of Scott Hall and Hawk respectively that were both happening in WWF/WCW in 1998. I understand why it was not on the list because it's difficult to prove that one company copied the other, but one or both companies had to be ware of what the other show was doing.
Even better WWE did it again.. and again... And again... They did it with Jake the snake when he had actually got cleaned up, with CM punks family members, and recently with Jeff Hardy vs Seamus.
If we're going to be nitpicky the Flock wasn't a WCW creation. It was a version of when Raven did in ECW. His whole thing was creating dark and spooky groups made up of misfits.
I legit don't think HIAC was copied from WCW WarGames. Yes a giant steel cage match can be considered similar but the actual WarGames match and the actual HIAC match are total different match types. Also I've been mentioning for years that Randy's RKO NWO inspired shirt was copied from the NWO and I swear I'm not the only person that noticed too unless I actually am
At the time in 2005, I didn't think that Randy Orton's T-shirt was inspired by the nWo T-shirt. I thought that it was cool & I wanted one. I should've thought about that it was inspired by the nWo T-shirt, but I didn't, so you're one of the only people who noticed & made that connection of the nWo T-shirt to Randy's 2005-2006 T-shirt. As of the year 2011, I currently own that Randy Orton nWo inspired T-shirt.
I disagree on wargames /HIAC. Hell allowed fighting around the ring on the floor. Wargames was just an elimination tag match in a double cage against the sides.
In 1988 Andre the Giant beat Hulk Hogan for the WWF title. The Giant did not keep the title for long. Annnnnnnnnnnnnd later "The Macho Man" Randy Savage won a "contest" to World Champion!!!!!! In Oct. 1995 "the Giant" beat Hulk Hogan for the WCW title. The Giant did not keep the title for long. Annnnnnnnnnnnnd later "The Macho Man" Randy Savage won a "contest" to World Champion!!!!!!
People still crying from 20+ years ago 😂 we don’t care and took y’all too guys and put they asses down but Goldberg and Booker we love them and Rey everything else got exactly what WCW deserves
Yeah was gonna say - imagine they own the IP so they are just utilising their own assets haha. Appreciate that isn’t the point of the video, but still worth pointing out
Also technically they don't own the company they bought the library/ tape records and copyrights of names... Not the whole company. But the premise is they stole ideas created by someone else, people that worked for WCW.
How did no one notice that Randy's shirt was a take on the nWo classic designed shirt? I think only a complete fool could have missed that, it was like when that fool Velveteen Dream had his dumb "oVa" shirt. I always had a bad feeling about him and everything that was found out of him shortly after, it was of zero surprise.
thought this was going to be 10x wwe ripped off nwo... what currently comes to mind are the wwe's version of the nwo group with shawn michaels (basically dx in nwo shirts) when he superkicked booker t out of the group, anything lwo, and new day's new merch shirt "n d r" (new day rocks) in the style of nwo.
You can't call it a WCW ripoff if whatever it is came after WWE bought WCW. Or is Holden ripping off Chevrolet when they release a car under a different name for the European market? General Motors is General Motors. Just like post-buyout WCW stuff is WWE.
He had even played *heel owner* before, for Jerry Lawler's USWA (Memphis); where The King was still an uber-babyface, hilariously, considering the character he started playing on *WWF* TV in '92...
Other things the WWF "borrowed": The Light heavyweight title; the Raw announcing table moving toward the entrance; Pyro to open up Raw; anti-authority figure characters
