Thank you for your videos! I got to teach "my own classes" this year for the first time and after a two months i started feeling burnt out and frustrated. I was too nice while at the same time being overly critical with myself. Your videos are giving me hope right now and I feel like I might not quit the job but work on my skills to become a better teacher. It's just a job, but it feels so personal sometimes.

For me, it's classroom management. I am absolutely struggling with my class I am student teaching. I'm so close to the end but I don't want to just leave them with them being rowdy. I do all of the mistakes, with shouting, and the silent treatment. I have looked at your other videos to try and make myself better. It is a bit harder as a student teacher when my mentor barely helps with me and I make the mistakes a teacher has. I want to make sure I am able to do what I want to when I start my own job as a teacher. Hopefully with my own class, I can plan how I want to.

Hi, Eric! I'm a 1-st year teacher. And I'm so grateful for your videos. Many thanks for sharing the experience, I've started to use it on a regular basis! And my top 1 problem as a newbie is that kids think I'm kind and tend to misbehave at the lessons.

Hi Eric, I just watched your video, and I can relate to everything you said in the video. I am a first-year teacher, and one of my biggest challenges is engaging students in the lesson and the need to want them to like me. I struggle with class management a bit, but my skills got better. However, I still have challenges. Thank you for your video, it really helped me.

I'm grateful for your words, it's the type of video I needed to watch for keeping up doing what I like to do, Teaching. I'm in my social service from the university and I'm teaching English to young learners, and let me tell you that it's been so difficult because one of the toughest things I'm facing are my students absences, they don't always attend to classes and sometimes I also feel disappointed for all the issues that are around me, but you have helped me to understand things I couldn't get before.

My problem is that I have to start teaching in high schools with no pedagogical or practical training (it's standard to start with that after 1-2 years of teaching on upper secondary school level in the country I live in). This means that I have almost no knowledge about the practical aspects of teaching. This is the reason I really appreciate your videos, because they're specific enough to be useful to a beginner like myself.

My greatest challenge is classroom management, especially with the young children. I teach English in Japan and getting small children to follow simple directions as a whole week after week is always been a challenge. There are always one or two kids that would rather run around the room or crawl under the table than follow along with the lesson.

I am a new teacher.I have 3 students in my class. My biggest challenge is the student engagement and lesson flow. I spend all night making my own lesson plan. My glow part is making activity. My student don't like lesson time and they find it boring. They only enjoy learning with my activity.I feel so down when I don't find any progress in their learning.I feel like I'm not doing the great job for them.

Yes, it's difficult to get ourselves to do something. I would suggest putting 1 hour aside where you will only lesson plan per week. Find a quite place, free of distractions, grab a coffee, put away your phone and knuckle down. 😄 I have the same problem to focus, so I go to a study cafe with people around me.
