Thank you, these helped. Some questions: Can someone advice me on recon? In my games they die quickly, should i position them just behind my frontline? Away from friendly units so they keep an eye on areas i dont control? Or simply inbetween my fighting units? Next Q: How do i keep my planes alive? no matter what phase im in they are getting shot at from all sides by every enemy unit with a gun (probably not the case but thats what it feels like). My planes rarely make it into a third mission, that cant be normal. Last Q: Are there actual airborne units? ive only been playing for two days but i feel like ive missed them. Ive seen the allied AB units and the axis version but they never parachute into the battle wich makes them less "airborne" in my eyes. Should i just accept AB units come out of a truck in this game? Thanks.
1. Try using small 2-4 man recons squads and turn off their guns (or tell them to hold fire). With this you can sneak them up close and use them on the frontlines (and even behind enemy lines, remember they do not effect the map control line so you opponent wont notice) were they belong. And make sure to ALWAYS put recon in green cover. Try to have recon all over the map. If you are limited in points you should prioritize placing them in areas with large sight lines. 2.If you are bombing there are 2 factors you need to consider, enemy AA and planes. A single fighter can shoot down your bomber and AA can deter you before you even reach the target. To fight AA just mark were they are and arty them. Fighters a bit more tricky as your best bet is to get an AA net and a fighter or two. Even having an mediocre fighter with some good AA protection you can beat the top tier fighter aces easy peasy. And just take note were the enemy AA installations are and try bombing them in different areas that may be less well defended by flak. 3.AB units are in the 101st, 6th AB, 91st Luft and 3rd FSJ decks. They do not drop out of planes but come to the battlefield in trucks like regular infantry. The only real distinguishing feature they have is their high vetrancy and when behind enemy lines they do no suffer a moral penalty unlike regular units (indicated by the silver wing outline of the unit card).
