I'm so glad you like the Rok-Lok. If I never make a cent I'm still proud that I honestly think I improved the guitar strap lock. I'm doing a little bit of tweaking and I'm confident that the next round will become the industry standard some day. I hope you have a great week. Mark
Thanks for letting me know that. Let me know if it ends up making you more motivated. I'm curious what the overall result will be. Take care and have a great week. Mark
Hey Jim. It's always a pleasure to hear from you. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Email me and let me know if the tabs end up making it easier to knock out the riffs. Take care and have a great week. Mark
That's great to hear Mark. I appreciate your time and I'm so glad you like the Rok-Loks. I don't even care if I make a dime. I honestly think they so much better than S locks or any of the stuff that D'Addario puts out. Jim D'Addario came by our booth on the last day of the NAMM show and played around with it, nodded, and said, "very nice invention, good luck". LOL. True story. Take care and have a great week. Mark
do me a favor and let me know if you end up using them to learn riffs. I'm trying to figure out the best way to do it. Talk to you Tuesday. Email me and let me know if we are on. FYI, I can't email anymore today.
Thank you for taking the time to let me know. I really appreciate it. I can't help but seeing the word METS in your username. Being a life long diehard Mets fan, we tend to find it wherever we can. :)
Hey Carl. The strap advice used to be "do as I say, not as I do" however I've been delving into the world of modern fingerstyle (with left hand overhand tapping, artificial harmonics and percussion). It's already next to impossible to do. Without a strap, forget it. LOL.
You know that I'm not one to do cut and paste replies but I'm gonna lay one on you because I've had several people email me and leave comments regarding the tabs. Here goes "Thanks for letting me know. If they help you to learn the riffs or inspire you to learn the riffs quicker, please let me know." LOL. Seriously though, if they end up really making a difference, please let me know. Take care. Mark
Thank you again, Mark, the tabs are a nice inclusion. When I started watching the intro, I was amazed and thought you were really flying. Then I realized I had the playback speed set to 1.5x from a previous video. Of course I slowed it down and you still sounded great. 😆
Funny story. I first learned Fleetwood Mac's Never Going... using the Amazing Slow Downer (back when it was the best thing ever and worked with Spotify). I had it nailed and I was like whatever dude, this song is easy. Then I realized I had the tempo set at 76%. It's a bitch at full speed. LOL
Hey Andy. Thats awesome that you've "found your voice" with the 12-string. I feel the same way. It's a crowded world of guitarists and it's nice to play an instrument that's so overlooked. It makes no sense other that the ease of learning as to why Ukes are flying off the shelves but 12-string guitars remain the red-headed step child. Thanks so much for checking out the video. I appreciate your time. mark
I really appreciate that. It's amazing what a two second reply will do to spread positivity. I mean that most sincerely. Good for you. I hope you have an awesome week. You deserve it. Mark
I'm so glad you liked it. I met the guy who runs Guitar Tabs Daily at NAMM. He and his partner are probably the two nicest guys I met at the show. He suggested that I start putting tabs onscreen and he's going to post some of the videos on his channel and on other platforms. Maybe my MySpace page will go viral.
Great video, Mark! I do a pretty good job on More Than a Feeling, but I have ALWAYS wanted to learn Mr. Tambourine Man! Thanks so much for the lesson and the tab! :)
Funny you should ask. We are doing a short run of White and Orange. They should be available on Amazon in about 5 weeks. Right now, we have the awesome black ones but we are selling out quickly.
This is a nice idea, Mark! There are a few of these riffs I have never tried. Now that they are right in my face I am more likely to pick up a 12 and try them!
Thank you so much for adding the tabs on screen Mark it really helps so much. Maybe you could do this for all or most of your videos? It's a really great tool for us slow pokes. Being able to stop rewind and slowing down riffs is really helping me. Cheers! John Russell (Just turned 77 )
jeezo, mark - that opening was killer! going to grab my reverend and play along, now! again, apols for not writing - this depression thang is a tricky munchkin, i have to say! hope all is well - and, as always, love from canada!
Hey Tony. I've done a number of videos on the Spark. I do very few reviews. Why so many on the Spark? Nope. They don't pay me or send me free stuff. I love them. For anybody that grew up in the early 80s when guitar stores were flooded with crappy Peavey amps, the technology of today's solid state amps is ridiculous. I'm a big fan of the blue EQ (number 11 on the Mod bank I believe). Other than that, a touch of verb and a roll off of some bass and that's how I usually play. I have a video about getting four good presets and ditching the app. But the app is great too. If you'd like to chat more about it, email me at markaranalli@gmail.com. Don't worry, I don't have anything I'm trying to sell you. :)
Loved the beginning of your video Mark. Thank you for all the tabs too. I haven’t hear Kicks Paul Revere and the Raiders in a while thanks for doing it. I like the new red Rokloks in your video too. I hope you had fun at NAMM24. Paul
the vibrance of the 12 string makes it feel comparable to a middle eastern instrument, I love it so much. I'm looking at 12 strings online, is it a bad idea to go straight for an acoustic electric?
Mark- fantastic video, as always! Classic songs! Is there any way that you could tab the opening riff to the Byrds' Eight Miles High? I have never been able to figure it out-- and I love the version that you have done on several videos!
Hey Getty. I really appreciate the support and yes, unfortunately, version 1.0 covers the rear jack. I use the Music Nomad adapter (the one made for Taylors) which works perfectly with the Rok-Lok. Getting a strap around the ES2 plug is too much of a pain in the butt. I currently own 5 Taylors. 2 of them I just use for practice and never plug in so the Rok-Lok is great for those. Do you gig frequently? I've had several Taylor owners tell me they love it because they don't plug in but there have been a few who work and need regular access to the rear jack. Anyway, sorry for the inconvenience. We should have the plug through version in production by the end of the summer. Take care and be well. Mark
