My favorite variant of the perfect player is rare, but always fun. They join PF with a o/ but don't otherwise speak. Sometimes they are noticed and assigned a safety dorito. When you get one of those, when the moment is right, it feels like their brilliance rubs off on everyone, and a party that had been struggling before gets the clear instantly before even seeing all the mechanics. Then they leave without a word, and when you check fflogs out of curiosity..... everyone else in the party is grey or green and they are pink, and you know you've been witness to something 😆Bonus points when this cryptid is the same job as you and you can't even be jealous because you are in too much awe.

Loved it! Some types of raiders that I found present in my group or previous ones are : 1. The Consistent one ; pretty much always steadily performs, communicates when needed, never late, overall the type of person you just want to have 2. The heart of the party - Even when progging is going slow, they will be there to cheer the party on, the last one to leave when things go wrong and always good for a smile 3. The Quiet one - They're just.. There? They can either be really good or really bad players, rarely inbetween, but you have no idea whats going on in their mind. They're just there and there to kill. 4. The Friend - Either the person to sub in because noone else would or perhaps someone you are helping ; they aren't really sure what they're doing, but its okay! They're steadily learning and you're here for the ride. 5. The 9th Person - Always there to replace or fill in when someone is sick, practically already in the Static. Often plays way too many roles and performs pretty well somehow. 6. The Rage quitter - Either extremely toxic or extremely quiet, they will join a party and if there's so much as one wipe, they are out. Leaving and noone is gonna be able to convince them to stay. And 7, the Girlfriend/Boyfriend - They're really only here because of the partner, and they're often just trying their best. Often favored by their s/o but can be funny to have around

there is a small misconception I want to make clear about raid leading. it can be seen/called/pronounced in many ways but here is basically how I see it from exp. a well organized group usually has the roles and responsibilities split between either 2 or more members so in this case I would say there is a static leader and a raid leader. the SL is the one organizing schedule, recruitment etc. while the RL takes care of strat choices and callouts.

First static Leader told me on a day I have work tomorrow "We are going to be running this raid at 5am, if your not there, then we're not going to help you clear it" my job started at 8am. (The raid leader was retired, and could literally be on the game all day) Same guy "I'm not telling you to quit your job cus I know it's how you pay to play the game, but if you want to raid with us, then your going to need to quit your job"

The dear in the headlight - aka first attempt at raiding in this game and feeling overwhelmed. That was me yesterday when I did the Crystal Tower alliance raids to progress on my MSQ. I like to hope that by the final one, I was of *some* use. As a tank, I know I had the aggro on me a fair amount in the last one.

I've raided and cleared everything since Second Coil and the only thing that motivates me nowadays is see people grow in skill and enjoy raiding.

Been playing for 5 years and I haven't met a Raider that is not an elitist asshole, unfortunately.

Had a Raider friend who I looked up to... yell at me in VC... Had a difference of opinion that I wished to share, only to be mocked for doing so. I then called them out for doing what they mocked me for, only to get a yelling response through voice... Instead of discussing the topic, I just get... yelled at very loudly. Felt very uncomfortable and left the Discord. Very odd feeling as they were the once who taught me raiding basics to begin with. Idk where to put this group... but quite upset that it all went down the way it did. Sharing my opinion is apparently... wrong mhm

Its fine, just juggle 21 chainsaws, mentally compute a few quantum equations, and solve world hunger, while dodging lines, blocks, squares, triangles, cubes, and that weird person who wont stop hitting on people Perfect recipe for a challenge

No one joined, I sat there until a group of 7 people (same fc) jumped in and said they'll help me clear. One of my good memories from pf. We got a clear. Thank you, pf helpers

You give raid leaders too much credit. We are not, by default, more skilled than average. I just stumbled into my leadership role because I wanted to raid, and needed 7 more people. I recruited out of selfishness, not because I was a skilled or talented raider/leader. After 3 years I am still an average player who messes up callouts lol. On the bright side. I made many friends through being the incidental "leader"

I really love this video because ive honestly been each and every one of these stereotypes over the course of my raiding career since EW dropped. You don't have to be skill issue forever!!

I'm the bald, bearded, angry, tank main... except for being bald.

Despite playing for years, EW was the first expansion that I decided to get out of my comfort zone of normal mode difficulty and try EX trials. I started off as a "clear for one" player doing some old EXs synced + no echo. Now I'm a "blind runner", but have yet to clear an EX without watching a guide with learning parties. I think its been the most fun I've had in the game in years from sticking to normal mode difficulty.

its not related but i am a whm main and was going through a shadow bringer trial everyone (except me and two other people) died and we had lb 3 and i revived the tank then in chat "lb healer " i got so excited to use lb for the first time at that moment i knew shadow bringers is the best expansion known to history

Joined a static for the current tier but did Abyssos on PF, I'm not one to get angry, but it makes me upset when tanks don't mitigate tankbusters, raiding on PF is the sole reason why half of the tank population lives in my blacklist. 😭

Building off the clear for one section on the end, I'm seeing increasingly more parties get put up as "reclear" parties but the party lead hasn't even cleared...

Ive done all sorts of raids but I will admit it’s a mixed bag and most of the time it’s others fighting and ego’s clashing and as of the last two I’ve just been burnt out after disbands and fall out . I wish there was a better way.

When talking about the raid leader... whats that tank body glam?

I'm new to Unreal, extreme and savage raiding but there are some fights I already memorized and I'm trying to clear on PF, the most flabergasting moment I had was on Zurvan Unreal, I entered a clear group and there was a healer (mentor btw) who constantly died to the simplest mechanics and was basically being carried by the other healer who was pratically solo healing. After 3 wipes she died because of a mistake of the main tank (I was the second one) where he didn't aggro the boss quick enough after the minion phase and Zurvan killed the healer, she then typed "I think JayBlaze (me) isn't ready for a clear" and quit the party. It was an experience...

Another type: The Bitter Vet - That person who has been raiding for a long time. I mean, a *really* long time. To the point that they could probably put it on their resume because of the sheer volume of time they have put into it over the years. But as time has gone on, they have become... disenchanted with the whole experience. They might have been one of the other types in the past, or perhaps several of them even, but now? They are tired. They've seen all kinds of mechanics, played most if not all of the different roles, and have experienced all of the drama that can happen in raid groups. It really does seem like they are just doing raiding now more out of habit than any genuine love for the act - that died in them some time ago. The silver lining? They do tend to be quick learners, reliable, and will push through all sorts of difficulties - after all, they've seen all this before.

And then there's me, The Chaotic Gremlin. While the Raid Leader is explaining the fight, my Miqo'te is face-down in a pile of catnip, paying minimal attention to the explanation of mechanics. When the fight commences, my catnip-addled brain is barely keeping up and still, somehow, managing to stay alive, despite infuriating our healers. We move around the boss arena avoiding mechanics and fighting adds as they come, but still somehow manage to die same time as the boss goes down, or survive it.

The cursed good raider : basically the guy who's super good at the game and super cool with everyone, but who's always going to get carried away because he's trying to help people. It happened 4 times to a friend of mine, people seemed to stumble on the strat or on their rotation, he just offered help without any malice (I saw the screenshots) and he ate a ban for that The extremely bad toxic raider: this kind of person (usually DPS) who thinks he is super talented or even the best raider possible, but who is actually the weakest guy in the group and the most toxic in his behavior

In FF im pretty much the casual raider. I think im doing okay but normal raids and similar content is made to be accessable (which is a very good thing) As someone who raids way more serious in another game: those types of raiders are in every MMO, not only FFXIV

Oh Blade and Soul raiding, i remember first tree raids until game became bit too pay-to-win for my taste.

As someone who tends to be more consistent than the rest of my group, and often helps a lot with strats and the like... it pains to say I'm probably 1+2 here, though that just feels like bragging. Personally, I take raiding more casually most tiers, and enjoy slowly clearing the content with a fun group, even though I can do week 1 clears. As someone who has raided with plenty of the 'skill issue' players... don't worry about it! You hit the nail on the head for 'you can't be mad at them'. Some people only care about the clear, sure, but as long as you are in a group where that isn't a looming priority, the better players in your group are likely all too happy to help someone improve. I've honestly had raid weeks where I spent more time out of raid with some players helping them analyze their logs and do better for the next day/week. So basically... don't worry about it. Focus on yourself, and try not to be too self-conscious. Easier said than done though, I cause 1 wipe on a raid night and I'm beating myself up about it until the next day >

the trap party, my friend did this. they're used to be XI player and 1.0 player so they boast how good the old day was but really bad at current game mechanic. one day they joined an UWU completion pf, no guide, no understanding how any basic mech works. even as their FC mate i'm so mad at them, they didn't get the clear (duh), and got blacklisted afterward iirc

I’ve been the salty one, the perfect one, and the slow one, depending on the fight. One I’d like to add, the retired raider. I used to care if the BLM in my dungeon roulette wasn’t casting fire, now I don’t and am like just play the game my dude.

My static has 2 skill issues... I'm married to one of em. Luckily my wife does eventually learn and master fights, it took maybe 25-30 hours of Voidcast ex for her to lock it down. The other person, though, is our healer... the only person in my static who hasn't gotten the weapon from the ex because everyone else ran it without her to get clears :( I feel bad but game time is limited and wiping to double meteors for 5 straight hours made me want to uninstall

I'm somehow both the "Perfect One" AND the "Skill Issue" guy... If I'm in the zone, you won't catch me making any mistakes and probably soloing the boss 2 seconds after everyone dies until I get 1- or 2-shot xD

The clear for one parties are the most hilarious bullshit I see on PF. It usually consist of people that want to get carried. It gets frustrating, clear parties are painful sometimes, but the type of people that put up these groups are usually part of the problem. They feel entitled to the clear so obviously everyone who has cleared prior should help them.

7:40 why the hell do they do the 999 requirement? Also, if it's a reclear it is not necesary to set the equipment level as high as possible. The difference are going to be literal seconds, -10 levels before max ilvl is enough, don't raise it higher, you're on party finder.

4:49 : PF Raider, some things i've learned while PF Raiding: **BEST TIP: BE HONEST WITH OTHERS AND YOURSELF... join/make prior prog partys (did you make it to Gale2 with multiple deaths?, then you are NOT gale2 prog... learn the prev parts better so you die 0 times, UNLESS you can HONESTLY say a death was TRULY caused by someone else). If yourTeam had to use healerLB3 to get to Gale2, then you are NOT Gale2 prog 1) SAVAGE: If you're learning, the best day would be Sunday; others have their weeklyclear already, but some ppl will repeat to help/getBetter. There's less toxicity since the otherppl dont "need" to win. 2) SAVAGE: If you want the win (aka you've learned it well enough, and just need PplCompetentEnough to Clear), aim for Tues/1stDay or Monday/LastDay. EndTip: AT LEAST show that you're trying... joining a currentFight with 0melds AND noFoodBuffIcon is extremely disrespectful to the time of Others. IDC if you meld "improperly", just cram anything useful in there. Some ppl like Determination for more consistant/reliable numbers, most ppl like Crit for BIG!!! numbers... a good rule of thumb = Crit til no more can fit, then put in w/e. If you're strapped for gil... you dont NEED the toptier food most of the time, if the prevTier food is nice... and since it's NoLongTheBest!, it's typically alot cheaper.
