Since gold is much harder to come by in Classic, there are a few unorthodox ways of earning it. Just thought I'd put together a compilation video of some of the ones I know of.
The UBRS key service is also an unorthodox one, although a lot less now than it used to be. You could also do stealth runs of lengthy dungeons for niche items such as slaghide gauntlets for tank druids, or the HoJ for rogues.
Warlock main and can confirm, whatever gold I spent on my dreadsteed quest have been made back - and then some. Remember; for every client you take on, you most likely also eliminate a potential competitor! >:D
SM library is the best way to make consistant gold. 10g per run, takes 15 minutes. Sell everything in Brill and turn silk into heavy bandages. No competiton, no alliance. There is also fadeleaf every run in the courtyard and some of the best level 29 twink items.
If you make less than 75g/hour it's not a great source of gold. There are several ways to make up to (and over) 100g/hour, depending on server economy. You make way more gold farming the right things and selling to players rather than pure gold farm/vendoring, and as time goes by and inflation becomes even more rampant it will become increasingly more profitable.
@@Ares42 I can do lasher farm on a pally, but the herb run in SM is easy, did it early on to while getting AD rep up. Hit lock out roll over kill some UD, roll back. If you are waiting on some people get on to do stuff with stocks is easy money not a lot but easy. DM any sort of solo needs some gear. 2 man is doable but still needs gear. 3 man is fine but if you got one herbing one mining... what is the other one going get because everyone wants the blues for vendor trash. Lasher farming on the pally gotten easier with t2. It isn't a primary farming method, but power leveling is really low effort way to earn gold. It is bit less than ZF gold per hour. Plus if you are leveling an alt it is great way to get cloth for it to level first aid or tailoring.

Nice video. Back on the Light's Hope private server me sold Naxxramas trash clears with 2 mages on a cleared ID. You could pull around 30 mobs and AE them down. Was always fun to grind and people were happy about awesome epics like Misplaced Servo Arm.
For me, bag space was a big issue too while leveling. I'll always remember a gnome in Stormwing that used to spend the whole day parked near a bag seller asking for money to buy some bags and how I felt sorry for him lol.
As Blizzard has failed to address many of the problems with the game, I like many have slowly but surely stopped playing. Who knows, maybe I’ll play again someday, but one things for sure, I’ll never stop watching Madseason videos!

I have very detailed maps on chest spawns on every location if anyone needs 'em. Same with rare mob spawns and pretty much everything worth gold not in an instance all compiled.

@@appr2622 In BRD with the room that has the shadowforge lock you can jump up on the top most ledge that circles that room and kite mobs, then jump off and they will path entirely around the top, meaning you can just ranged attack them to death. I don't play priest (yet) so I don't really know the best farms for you guys.
Ngl, these longer quests are part of what i loved about the green fire questline from mists, and the Lucid Nightmare questline in Legion. Longer and genuinely enjoyable to finish. I just wish Blizzard made more of them, rather than just falling back to a currency grind :s
Additional unhortodox gold making way is vendor shuffling. I think it's not doable anymore, but especially at the beginning you could buy stuff from the auction house, craft things and sell them to vendors for profit making a steady income. I would buy tons of linens sold for 15-20 coppers to craft bags and sell them for around 1 silver gain. i would do this of course while being busy doing something else, but it really helped me pay my bills and allowed me to keep training my tradeskills. That's how i managed to hit level 60 with a timely mount with alchemy and leatherworking. gathering is for noobs and poor people >:D
You can make gold just buying and reselling on the AH. There are literally tons of gold making strats on this game. I was always interested to know how much passive gold people make on average from selling grey items to vendors because over time that stuff adds up. I wonder if there's an add on for that.
i used to make fortune on AH , i basicly came to point where i was dictacting prize of vanity pets(whelps only) of each color , first made gold farming them , then used them to buy them out and slowly inflate the prize , i not reached max lv with that character and was making 10x gold then my brother who was raiding and gold farming AH indeed can yeld you more gold but its something who comes with experience and browsing is several times a day as "time and population peaks" also impact it , i used to buy these pets when people used to farm a lot (people with a lot time farming at morning or late night where population is lo and put their goods before sleep) and sell them back near peak time reason im sharing is i wont be playing WoW , fun game but after playing it so many times (private server too twice) i moved to other games , so whoever reads this enjoy:) as if you cant do whelps you can find own niche but rare good to peddle , i picked pets becouse often people who leveled or found them not knew real value and undersold , and high level players were willing to pay a lot

i remember making gold around lv 40 for my mount by killing all the elite ogres in loc modan for cloth and green drops for days at a time .... the good old days ?!?
