I have been a subscriber for quite a while but never commented ... you are one of my favourite reviewers and have become a bit of a go-to resource just to see your thoughts and opinions on something I may be considering to sample or purchase ... love your energy and personality and it makes me happy when I see a new video from you as I know it's going to brighten my day just a bit more☺💜
Coty Vanilla Fields was my signature scent between 1993 and 1995:) Unfortunately You don‘t get it in Germany for many years. Thank you anyway for the remembering.😊
I'm on a hardcore vanilla kick. Here's my current favs: Montale Vanille Absolu Mancera velvet vanilla Elizabeth & James nirvana bourbon MK midnight shimmer Dipytique eau duelle Serge Lutens un bois vanille
xcomfortablynumb83x Yes, Eau Duelle. I have the EDP which smells so good - so rich. But it’s hard when you live in a tropical country that only has wet and dry seasons. If I will buy it again, I will get the EDT.
I think I don’t always like or dislike what you do, but still you’re becoming my favorite reviewer. You do the subjects and fragrances I want to know about and your ability to redacting them is excellent.
I have a few of these and love them. Casmir! Such a gem. I love it when I want to smell like a “snuggle” personified. AEA was in frequent rotation this past Winter. I’ve also dabbled in it on cold Spring days as well. If I’m going shopping, this is my go to. I feel like I can create a wall of “don’t bother me” w it. ☺️
So thrilled to hear you talk about Casmir! I came across it when I was mourning the discontinuation of Miranda by Fragonard - my first perfume love and realized that Miranda was Fragonard's version of Casmir. Would love to see a full review of either, both or a comparison. A tad ambitious, I know. 😋 Thanks for this and love your videos, Tom! 😊
I have been loving Tihota by Indult, Vanille Incensee by Atelier, and Le Couvent des Minimes which used to be ridiculously cheap but has now skyrocketed in price for some reason. Smells like bourbon vanilla.
Love your thumb's up list and only one dispute with your thumb's down - Cuir Beluga, I love it :) My other vanilla favorites are Indult Tihota, Nabucco Amatys Parfum Fin, Khalis Golden Dust, Fragonard Fleur de Vanille, DSH Vanille Botanique, Lattafa Raghba, so many more.... and I still love CSP Vanille Abricot and Vanille Banane, but I also adore gourmand fragrances.
Love Dior Addict. Also have Alien Essence Absolu, Un Bois Vanille, Hypnotic Poison EDP (the edt is so popular but smells like play dough on me), Shalimar, and Architects' Club. Like you, I prefer oriental vanillas to gourmands. I need spice and/or woods added to vanilla. Love your reviews. Being from the South, love hearing you say, "y'all". 😂😍
We need a part 2 for this video. So many Vanilla fragrances. My teenage daughter is loving vanilla. I’m thinking about getting her Molinard Vanille but I have never smelt it before.
Thanks for this video! Vanilla is one of my favorite notes and it can be hard to find one that stands out and makes a statement. Have a wonderful evening!
Love it! I’ve been enjoying Vanille Exquise by Goutal recently, and lush Vanillary is a bedtime staple (too weeey to wear out!). Givenchy pi too is totally feminine too to my nose. Shalimar is the ultimate. Thanks for your tips!
I love Hypnotic poison and have two vintage bottles. Oh my, it’s so beautiful that when I smell it my eyes roll up in my head . I am wearing it very sparingly. Coz the two bottles I have are small 1oz each. Sadly
You and Peter together...whhaaa??!! I’ll be on the lookout for that😘 Have you tried Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee? It’s a cold vanilla...so different from anything else I’ve ever tried! I love so many on this list❤️ Have you tried Hanae Mori by Hanae Mori? It reminds me of Vanilla Fields, but a bit of a twist with some fruity notes. I haven’t found one from Guerlain’s more exclusive line that I think is remotely worth the price...they are very underwhelming indeed. Great list!
Shalimar Souffle Intense, Hypnotic Poison, Roberto Cavalli Nero Assoluto, Vera Wang Rose Buds and Vanilla, and Mugler Alien Essence Absolue are my favorite vanillas!
I agree wholeheartedly with you regarding Creed Sublime Vanille . So expensive for not much vanilla(on me at least) . I'm interested in trying Architects Club & a few more from that house . Looking forward to your video with Peter!
Yess! Alien Essence Absolue drydown smells like doll heads and I love it!!!! I agree with all of your list, as per usual! Shalimar is my winter love and Hypnotic Poison my go to in Autumn. Now that we are entering the cold months down here in the southern hemisphere I'm ready for my lovely vanillas. Ah, a lovely iris-vanilla pairing is the sadly discontinued Shalimar Parfum Initial, I love it to pieces. Great review!
I love your reviews, I love Vanilla Noire by Yves Rocher, I own as many bottles as I can because I think it's close to be discontinued and I've been wearing it a long time I like the one note effect and I get compliments. Also Dior Addict. I have four different bottles of Shalimar, all authentic and all different...lol, but it's an oldie but goodie except I hardly wear it now. Great review.
Oh my god our taste is so similar! The Dior Addict - My first memory of it from when a friend had it back in maybe 2004 and we were at home munting on...I asked if I could spray some and boy was it a powerhouse! I couldn't stop thinking about it for years...it was almost a solid weight the smell of it. And it took me so long to buy it, of course its reformulated...it does smell different to my memory, but memory is fickle no? Now I wear it occasionally - but its so loud, it has to be worn with discretion - I almost feel embarrassed its so huge. When I told my friend about how much I loved it after I'd finally bought it, she told me that she'd probably thrown out that bottle years ago. HOW SAD. To add my obligatory contribution to the vanilla discussion, I can not go past Aroma M Vanilla Hinoki. I have converted many people to this one now - its an unsung hero. Think; citrusy vanilla with its sweetness tempered by bone dry hinoki wood....overall impression being as soft as a cloud and cozy as a cashmere sweater. I have Vanille Noire (which I got for peanuts)...agreed that it is not noir at all. For cheapie vanilla I really like the Senteurs Gourmands by Laurence Dumont. I have the Vanille Noir from that line and its a lot darker than the Yves. As well as the Bourbon Vanille - they are excellent for layering. FINALLY, there is Fort & Manle Maduro - which is tobacco and vanilla, but not TF TV if you know what I'm sayin. I know F&M have been doing the rounds but I'm gonna pull out my hipster card and say "I knew about em before they were famous", being an aussie and all! Great vid, keep it up!
Thank you! I love me some Aussie. I traveled there MANY years ago and fell in love. Omg this has just reminded me of an old flatmate of mine I lost contact with from Oz.
Yeah sadly so many ppl throw out perfumes that are more than a few years old. My sister had perfumes from the 80’s and 90’s and hardly never worn. She ended up having endometriosis and cant tolerate any perfumes so she threw out all of her beautiful vintage bottles. I told her she threw out a small fortune. She cried “ I didn’t know, I thought they all go bad after a year “. I said no, they are worth more actually. Oh well.
I enjoy watching your videos, you have great knowledge & your personality is so fun! May I suggest three of my favorite vanilla based fragrances? Tangier Vanille by Aerin Lauder & Contre Moi by Louis Vuitton. Both divine! I own a bottle of Eau Duelle EDP by Diptyque! Thank you for your video! Cheers!
Many wonderful vanillas! Probably my favorite note in perfumery! One that you should try if you haven't yet is El Born by Carner Barcelona. It's an addictive deep vanilla/resin. I had 10mL that I completely decimated, and I want a FB so badly.
Oh yes I have tried that one. It's cool! I think Palo Santo is another cool gourmand by them. I like the brands easy going nature. Although...their Sweet William is my fave. :)
I tried Shalimar yesterday after all those years.. 😳 Omg, this is not for me! Maybe when it’s almost gone from my skin it’s kind of bearable but still... And Chopard... too much..pfff 😅 As soon as it’s called Vintage i’m gone lol
It sitll applies because all of these are great! I mean there are thousands of vanilla perfumes so I could do multiple lists, I dont' tend to seek out vanillas that often though. :)
Can someone help me out? There are a few fragrance terms that I seem to struggle to understand fully. Descriptions like a perfume being “balsamic” or “fuzzy” - totally loses me 😳 ...I think I’m starting to get an idea of what a “sparkling” perfume is, but for some reason I’m having a hard time making the connection to smell. Hopefully someone sees this! Thank you in advance! 🤗
Hello!!!! If I ever refer to a fragrance that sounds like a texture, I just mean the way it feels on your nose when you smell it? it's kinda like putting texture into smells, the same way something can smell "red" for instance. So, take something simple like lemon, it would be "sharp" because when you smell it, it really hits your nose in a cutting way, does that make sense? Something balsamic is more tricky, it means that there are notes in there that are balms (like peru balm, or tolu balm) , so...think of balsamic vinegar, smooth...resin like feelings. Kinda like waxy? Oily? Fuzzy is just something that smells soft and fluffy. :) Hope that helps!
Alien Absolu is so sweet! You're spot on :) If you love Vanilla you need to check out Deep Vanilla by Zara :) it's fantastic. It smells a lot like Covergirl's Navy from 1990 which is my favorate Vanilla. Thanks for this!
I Recently bought a old bottle of alien essence absolue it's very dark in color and I get a strong top note of menthol like a vicks vapor rub do any of you recall this note..it almost makes me want to gag and this note lasts forever dry down is much better...appreciate your response
Can anyone recommend any other warm spiced bourbon vanilla fragrances e.g. with cinnamon/nutmeg/anise notes? Similar to Tom Ford Tobacco Vanilla and Phaedon Tabac Rouge. Thanks
Not really like tom ford but if you want spicy vanilla try Chopard Casmir, Lolita Lempika "L de lolita" blue bottle, dior addict and kenzo jungle elephant.
You can buy vanilla fields: www.fragrancex.com/products/_lid_v-am-cid_perfume-am-sid_vf375cs__products.html?src=googleShopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2ITB0tOf3QIVBc-yCh1uwgaAEAQYAiABEgIq2vD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Can you do a video on incense perfumes please, if you haven’t already. I would love a berry incense other than bath and body works Dark KISS. Darker than Dark kiss would be lovely. Lol
Thanks for sharing . . . What do you think about Lalique Le Parfum !? I wear this one on the coldest Winter days up here in New England . . . Cheers . . . :)
It's quite a surprising fragrance for under $30.00 here in the US. Great overall performance . . . Vanilla with a green Bay Leaf note . . . outstanding longevity ! I like it but wear it sparingly, even in the coldest of Winter days/nights! It reminds me of Aramis Calligraphy Rose, only sweeter.
Haha well, I don't see Samsara as a vanilla. I see it as a sandalwood fragrance, there is vanilla there in the dry down but its way more woody that anything else. I wanted super vanillary things. :)
Hi buddy! Love your channel! Your reviews are great! Hey I just wanted to ask you, on a scale of 1 to 10, how jealous are you that Jeremy Fragrance bought a new Ferrari? Should've asked for some Patreons, my friend! Keep up the great work!
I love a copy and paste comment on so many social media platforms (I've seen this comment on facebook groups, channels....all sorts). :) In answer to your question though...No...I'm not jealous.. I can't drive so cars do not interest me. :) xx I wish Jeremy every success. :)
No Poeme by Lancôme? It's the only vanilla frag I like! I am shocked, ...….then again, there is so much vanilla out there, I am sure some were overlooked. I'll forgive you because you mentioned Vanilla Fields ….a definite classic vanilla bomb.
Serge lutens one didn’t impress me! For all the hype nothing special about it. I tried to get that special thing out of it, but couldn’t. I thought imaginary authors memoirs of a trespassers was going to be included. In my opinion it smells better than all in this list 😬
