It blew my mind when I found out that Asuka is in her early 40's. Seeing how she is still able to keep up after being in the business for several years is a testament to how skilled she is, especially with how brutal the wrestling scene can be in Japan.
You know what I love about Asuka? She has a teenage son, who was somewhere between 12 and 15 during her undefeated run in NXT. You know how when you are that age, literally anything your parents do are horribly embarrassing? Imagine your mom was world famous for beating the shit out of people while basically wearing underwear. I like to imagine that while literally everyone else who watched Asaka perform thinks she's awesome, her son was mortified. It's just more fun that way. Asuka's great. She's got such mom energy when not in character.
Seeing the Sheamus renaissance happen over the last few years has been great. Loved him and Cesaro as the Bar, and of course his match if the year candidate CATC with Gunther, then the Mania triple threat was the cherry on top
I always found pre-The Bar at Survivor Series 2016 hilarious. In hindsight, the fans that cheered on Cesaro were the ones that booed Sheamus out of the building that night.
I still can't believe we got to see Edge have dream matches with Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles and Finn Balor. I hope we get to see some more dream matches with the likes of Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Bray Wyatt and Shinsuke Nakamura before Edge retires for good.
The way Trish vs Mickie wrestling together in their 50s would be 11x better than any dadberg squash match. We really took the women of the diva's era for granted, there were some great genuine talents there but weren't given the time of day, Dusty & Finlay must be proud af.
Tbh Trish and Mickie took better care of themselves than Oldberg. That's why he was way past his prime against Undertaker while Trish still can put good matches with Becky
Some of the bumps Trish took in the MitB ladder match were insane for someone her size and age. It hurt my back to see her fall on her ass from 8 feet in the air. Ouch!
Good story-telling too. He solidified himself as a main-eventer in the early years of TNA/Impact Wrestling so rescuing the titles from Kenny Omega and returning them home was great. Putting the physical TNA belt to rest and allowing Impact Wrestling to continue on.
It’s amazing that growing up during the Attitude Era and 40 felt ancient for wrestlers…and WWE didn’t seem interested in women past 30 besides for comedy…that the conditioning, diet, lifestyle choices now have allowed for so many impressively long careers. Wouldn’t have guessed a decade ago that Sheamus and Randy Orton would be some of the most consistently entertaining performers and who I would be most excited to see, but with time they really refined their work.
Jeff Jarrett keeps himself being relevant regardless which wrestling company he shows up. If it wasn’t for him, there wouldn’t be TNA Wrestling/Impact Wrestling
It’s a trip to think that I’ve been watching Rey Mysterio wrestle for 27 years now, especially because he’s only about six years older than me. But I guess it’s not that weird when you consider Rey grew up around luchadores and started training when he was still in grade school.
How can someone not love double j hmm let me see for starters since he left WWE he's been known as a manipulative snake just look at his politics as owner of TNA and global Force wrestling for starters. I'm just waiting for aew to realize that he shouldn't be in charge of anything now in ring he's definitely still got it but he shouldn't be in a leadership position in any company
Shaemus is in his mid 40s, which is one thing, but he also has spinal stenosis, which makes it insane that he's performing at the high level that he is
Orton deserves one last big push before he retires, he has been a mainstay for wwe and imagine him going in the hall of fame then putting over a younger talent at wrestlemania in his last hoorah 😊
The booking around Jarrett has been questionable so much throughout his career and so often he seemed to be the top guy during dark times for the respective company. But that really isn’t his fault. He clearly just gets it. Great on the Mike understands how to work a crowd and has always been good in the ring. There’s a reason why he has stay relevant for so long
I don't know about that. He wasn't able to make TNA work and GFW or whatever it was called flopped harder than Dial Of Destiny. One would think he'd be able to achieve more success than he has
Dustin Rhodes should have one last match in WWE as Goldust even maybe against Cody Rhodes to recreate that 5 star classic in AEW they had??? Just a thought yk
Whilst I do believe Trish has aged amzingly in beauty her in ring work has actually been sloppy lately, and this coming from someone who has Trish as no.1 Female Superstar.
It’s crazy how fucking professional wrestlers can do this shit well into their 40s or even 50s and can still do this but real professional sports like basketball ppl retire like right before they turn 40. When pro wrestling takes way more of a toll on your body how can some of these older wrestlers still go at a high level.
Can you read??? All of those didn't get BETTER with age. Sting is still good but no. Jericho, same, cage, same. Lita, she's arguably unable to go anymore at all.
Where is the goat Christian he is more relevant than most of the people on this list and has a way better comeback than edge. The judgment day only became good when he was kicked out,i wonder why.
I hate everyone this list. Not in a bad way though. These folks are my age and older and are in amazing shape and can still kill every thing!! Love seeing these folks kick ass!!
Aside from when WWE tried to shove Face Roman Reigns down our throats, the worst time in wrestling was when John Cena and Randy Orton topped the ticket. I can’t stand all three wrestlers, Heel Reigns is better than Face, but nobody made me change the channel quicker than Randy Orton. There’s nothing about him that I enjoy. I can’t even enjoy him losing, because I don’t wanna watch him to begin with…
I'm just amazed that Trish can still take a bump. But she really like to do her slow ass "stratusphere" move. It's weird seeing her opponents getting caught with that slow-mo half ass hurricarana attempt. 😂 Her and Becky got no bounce when they jump. Especially Becky. How can you jump on the second turnbuckle and still can't get enough lift from it? Just do a regular kick if you can't even jump high and kick off the second turnbuckle. 😂😂
I remember watching Rey as a fresh face in WCW circa '96. Trish I would suggest is being lifted by the quality of the competition in this era of womens wrestling. I thought she was the second worst performer in her wrestlemania match. Only better that Lita. Both were being carried by their opponents.
Let’s be clear Trish is the GOAT and it’s not even close. She was the best woman’s wrestler during a successful time in the business. She drew more money which is the name of the game. She also influenced the four horsewoman. Sorry Charlotte you don’t even compare to Trish
Because they've both gotten worse in recent years. Yes they've had a huge longevity but they simply haven't gotten better they've gotten worse with age
