The interesting thing about this whole "slender man" concept is actually based on the phobia feeling that someone is constantly watching you. Your mind is trying to make out of what it is and this slender "figure" is being processed through your head and the longer you stare at it, the worse it becomes until the point where you basically lose your mind.

Well no.. It was actually based on the concept of mothers telling their children about certain monsters to get them to behave. Slenderman was folklore; brought to life through cautionary childrens tales. The family kept using the same tale, spreading through generation after generation and it kept him alive.

A few years ago, I got to a national forest to start a bow hunt. We got there late. The post board showed pictures of 3 kids that went missing in the forest. We DID NOT sleep that night. we could even hear search party calling out for the kids. Thankfully they were found unharmed not too far from their home. I always have a bad habit of watching Fooster vids before I go on my hunts. I probably should stop lol 😂 good luck to me on my hunt next week that I don’t get freaked out again

Slender was also one of my first horror games. I watched playthroughs and didn’t really get it, but once I played for myself, I completely understood what made it so creepy. I wish I still had the energy to game, I miss those days!

Random fun fact: that owl sound you hear during the night time stuff? That is an owl called a "Barred owl" and their native to my home state of Oklahoma. It's a very under appreciated owl call that I wish more horror games would use.

OMG, I remember watching our teenage son play slender man when it came out, and it terrified me. Watching you play this Fooster had me so tense and on edge. My stomach muscles were cramping from tensing so much 😂 but that damn creepy kid in the cellar was by far the worst thing ever. I had to pause the video a few times. I don't think I have seen you quite as flustered in your other horror playthroughs as you were with this one! Good on you Fooster for getting through it. This game is really well done with the ramp up of the tension. The excellent musical changes that just drive up the unease without you even really noticing, like that slow deep drum beat (almost a heartbeat). The incremental pursuit from Slenderman as well. Getting closer and closer with each sighting. I was extremely uncomfortable and I was just watching lol.

Fooster, you mentioned how your body reacted to stress, its perfectly normal given the various compounds the body produces. Most folks know about "fight or flight", a few more know that "freeze" is the third and very few know that "surrender" is the fourth. Once you surrender the fear dissipates and all becomes possible.

My aunt owns 163 acres of forest and it was just like this game, from the long walk to the house, the house being separate from the woods even the trees and flora are the same, I used to walk the property a lot at night. And after dinner around 10 or 11 or so one of us would have to take all the food scraps and walk a couple feet into the forest to dump it with just a flash light. I’ve always had a fascination with this game. Anything to do with looking through the trees and you think something’s behind one is beyond terror I love it.🖤🤍❤️

I played the demo of this game on Xbox back in the day. I remember i was in a party with like 3 other friends and it took me a good hour to approach that girl hunched over in the old house.

I wouldn't worry about missing out on the Slender craze, all of the games were just note-hunts with minimal gameplay and a tv-static effect if you looked at Slender. Dare I say, they could barely be called 'games'. The mania behind them was by far scarier. Even-so all this, I love me a good Fooster scare.

4:24 the cool truck is a Land Rover Defender (classic version, produced approx 1983 to 2016). For what it is worth, the "starter car" before that appears to be based off an early to mid 80's Nissan Sentra. Garage car is a Lada 1500 / Vaz-2103 or a Fiat 124 (the Lada/Vaz was a copy of the Fiat). Also, Slender Man really knows how to pick out some real estate. Missed calling there...
