Always wondered how to remove and replace the grill.. Just so easy !. A DC/DC is on my one of these days list to replace the old school Voltage sensing relay type setup I have had since I got the vehicles many years ago..
Buonasera, io ho una prado90. Esiste il kit per prado90??? Quando aggiungi una seconda batteria bisogna cambiare l'alternatore? Fammi sapere grazie mille
Hi Chris, yer that’s good advice mate, when connecting a battery bank for the first time. However fitting these kits means we are fitting to an already live battery bank and therefore the risk of spark is there no matter what. That’s is why we connected the aux battery first though so that it couldn’t spark out even the positive can’t spark out on the aux battery until after the main one is connected. But on the main battery connection because it’s an already connected battery it doesn’t matter if you do the positive first or last you still have to be careful not to touch the body. Hope that makes sense mate
Great video, and not skipping any details! What’s the rationale for putting the BCDC in the 100 Series though? I thought it doesn’t have a smart alternator and the old school unit should pump out full voltage at all times anyway?
@@alex49159 The 100 series has a Temperature Compensating Alternator (TCA) which reduces the vehicle's output voltage as engine temperature increases, The BcDc help bump it up
@@alex49159 hey mate, glad the video helped you. yer chris is correct they do have a temperature compensating alternator which often sits at about 13.3v while driving which isn’t enough to fully charge a battery. The bcdc ramps the voltage up to charge the battery and once it is charged it will drop the voltage back to (float stage). You also have a few features with the bcdc such as solar controller in build and the ability to charger other battery types such as agm or lithium.
Great video thanks. I plan to fitbthis into my 2003 Lx470, can you please tell me where to get the redarc, the holder and pre wired harnesses. They look great and pretty easy to do myself thanks to your video.
Will this setup allow to plug fridge into rear cig charger, with axillary battery supplying over crank battery (for short periods like a few hours) keep beers cold...
