What are your top 3 diss songs of ALL Time??? New episode of The Bigger Picture out every Tuesday on the channel so sub for more and hit the like button if you enjoyed this convo
Kendrick songs all have the most replay value. Euphoria is #1 because it foreshadowed everything so listening back, he predicted all the angles Drake would take and it has so many nuggets. Family Matters was Drake trying to recreate Euphoria with the 3 beat switches and flows and call backs of the song.
Predicted? Idk I feel like that's a strong word for one line Kendrick said about what Drake would do. I think Family Matters still took people off guard, even with Kendrick's "prediction". It's just that Meet the Grahams overshadowed it
He did predict the the entire series of events and Drakes behavior to date. Listen to the entire opening of Euphoria. Also, Meet the Grahams literally is a direct response to the theme of Family Matters. It didnt just take the steam out of it, it was strategically themed. @arielepouhe80 How exactly did Family Matters catch anyone off guard? The entire thing was telegraphed. AK said he was probably gonna drop the day before and Drake told all the streamers to be online.
Love that the show has returned and I will continue to watch. Really enjoyed last episode. Everyone perspective was different but mesh very well together ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
@@Thoughtitwasadrought there was nothing hard about Future’s verse lol and you can argue that (especially if you have a stance on if Drake is hip hop at all) but with the Lauryn sample and he was rappin on it well is good enough for me. And I like how you ignored Sicko Mode lol
@@JamesSmith-ov5um"Ladi dadi da, slob on me knob", that verse is hard and got peeps turned up. Not every verse should be a bar-fest, we already had Jay Rock and Kendrick giving us great bars for King's Dead. Future was the PERFECT compliment for the song and everyone not named you loved the verse. ✌
This was so much fun lol. To be able to talk Hip Hop with some legends on stage is an honor. More to come! My top 3 Ether, Hit Em Up and Story of Adidon but I’m under 30 what do I know 😂🤷♂️
I think meet the grahams it’s the best outta Kendrick’s. It’s just so damn ominous and. I don’t think anyone can top “I think n- like him should die” to his mom!
@@MrJessenava Very dark and brutal, but also straight forward. I enjoy Euphoria because I’m still unfeeling that orange. Every time I think I’ve caught all I’m gonna catch, I listen again and something else clicks. It’s fun.
Everyone has a bias. That's just part of being human. When people try to hide that bias is where I would see a problem. This show having an Easy Coast guy, West Coast guy, and Canadian guy makes it about as fair as humanly possible.
Elliot riding for pac made me happy people don’t admit the impact worldwide of that man. In Europe we only knew about all these people on hit em up cause of pac mentioning them
no lie the combo of euphoria, meet the grahams and not like us immediately has to be top 3. (even 6:16, my personal fave, is such a great record toobad its not on DSPs)
Elliot fails to understand Cole isn’t industry friends with Dot, that’s his homie. Drake is an industry friend, big difference. Cole def got told via FT by dot himself
When you're an emcee and musician of the highest level it's pretty easy to decipher music in-depth and so not difficult when you understand why J. Cole and his experienced musicians hold Kendrick in extremely high regards and put him on a pedestal, his writing and rapping abilities are higher than everyone. He writes/raps great in first person, second person, and third person. Drake and J. Cole have their limitations and they admit much so in interviews(like Drake acceding he finds it difficult rapping in third person). Drake is known for commercial success and his sales comes from dumbing down to appeal to an average listener and Pop audience. Strip all that back and in comparison to Kendrick's ability, then there's no discussion what's better. Drake can't do what Kendrick does on his best day, Kendrick can do what Drake does(he wrote "All The Stars" including the harmonies and chorus for SZA) but if Kendrick suddenly started doing Hip-Pop we'd kill him for it myself included and call him a sellout.
Ranking is Like That Not Like Us Family matters Euphoria Meet the grahams Push ups 6: 16 The heart pt 6 Taylor Made And this is objective cause I don’t listen to any of the Drake songs from this battle
In regard to Questlove….so when pac does it, it’s corny. when Rakim rhymes over the same sample it’s a classic/masterpiece. The west coast bias sometimes is crazy 😂
That beat by pac was clearly to mock Bad Boy’s simplistic basic samples of late 70s R&B… he even had his little Junior M.A.F.I.A. clones featured on Hit Em Up to troll Biggie’s whole style.
Questlove doesn’t understand… the fact that Tupac COULD rap over something like that and make it sound SO impactful is a testament to how incredible he is. It is not a detriment to his artistry, it’s the opposite.
Chance sounds a lot like Dot. They don’t GAF. They were just happy to have that critical acclaim from the culture whether or not main stream rocks with them or not!
My comment was deleted by this channel: If Drake really is a PDF file it needs to be addressed. Stop letting creeps off the hook because they are famous!
@@tatianar9429 Oh it's been reported. These things take a lot of time to collect undeniable evidence. All we have is circumstantial evidence so far. So, in the meantime we have the responsibility to stop supporting creeps if we believe where there's smoke there's fire.
I luv tha Westcoast in u Dj Hed I whole heartedly know exactly what u meant & felt the same way about all those peeps I didn’t know either cus of PAC’s energy at 41 I dnt feel for what puff goin thru 🤷🏾♂️
I am confused about this apparent belief that a 37 year-old man isn't naturally nearing the end of his shelf life in pop culture. Drake makes music for teenagers and 20-somehings. If he continues on that trajectory and continues hanging out with (ie, grooming) 14-17 year-old girls and dating them as soon as they turn 18 years old, then, how does that help his "brand" when he's been openly called a PDF file...and everybody danced to it as a summer jam?. You all may see this from a music industry perspective but you don't see it from the public's perspective. People are out there Googling Drake to find out of any of what Dot said about the PDF file allegations is true - and finding out...yeah, it IS true. If you take a tour of social media there are people say they who won't listen to Drake's music anymore, so I think he's got a steep uphill climb to get back in people's good graces.
Elliot's list overrates Drake's diss tracks by far and underrates Eminem lol, also sorry but none of Drake's disses in this beef should be top 20 let alone top 50. Back to back is the only one that deserves to be in the top 20. Kendrick's are tougher since they are more significant as a part of Kendrick's overall strategy than they are as individual tracks. 616 in LA doesn't belong anywhere near where it is rated as an individual track.
At the very least, it showed that there is money and attention in battles at a high level. But the forced parts of it didn't work. So we'll see who is next
Elliott is wild for thinking this elevates Drake to the all time greats conversation. That's an insult to hip-hop. You gon' rate Hotline Bling with Juicy? --- I respect J.Cole for admitting that the beef was f***ing with his peace and bowing out. That being said, let's not forget he was the one that poured gasoline on the grill: "We the big three like we started a league, but right now, I feel like Muhammad Ali…" "The Spider-Man meme is me lookin' at Drake" Looks like you lost Kendrick in the space of a bar, Cole. --- Also, "The one that they call when they shit ain't connectin' no more, feel like I got a job in IT" LOL Drake, how'd you let that line happen?
Roddy Ricch kicked a fan on stage in switzerland, when he was already thrown to the ground by his bodyguards and couldn't move. That ruined the guy for me, not his second album...
How can Elliot think someone with a ghostwriter is in the conversation for greatest of All Time Rappers? You lose all respect and benefit of the doubt when you say stuff like that He just made it to saying he liked 7 Minute Drill.... If he thinks thats bars he shouldnt speak ok hip hop at all.
