So bit of lore: The dad in the first trailer (Valkorian) and the mom in the second trailer (Senya) were one family unit, and the kids from each were their kids. Valkorian was the emperor of both the Sith empire, and this third faction "Eternal Empire of Zakuul" (Don't think too hard on how he did both. He made Palpatine look like a pansy, so living in two bodies at once? Sure). Senya was his chief bodyguard and the leader of the Knights of Zakuul, and while she was (mostly) a light side force user, the faction as a whole rode the line between light and dark. The Eternal Empire was his more moderate attempt at making a 3rd faction in his image rather than being steeped in Sith tradition, but being a Sith at heart, he is what you see; heartless and ultimately wanting his kids and family to be dark force users. If they aren't, he gives them no respect. His twin sons Thexan and Arcann were his primary enforcers, and in lightning attacks they crippled both the Sith and the Republic. His daughter? She was his attack dog.

Palpatine basically based his Empire on the aesthetic of the Empire that existed during these games.

Madness. 46:30 F for Zarbrak Jedi bro. Bioware went through a lot of growing pains during the ramp up for TOR, but that facial motion capture equipment was worth every penny. Holy carp.

Where Palpatine hated everyone he saw as beneath him (witch was everyone) and saw them as tools to use and destroy at his pleasure. Vivitine didn't hate anybody because he saw himself as so far above everything that they weren't even worthy of his hate. They were just pawns for him to use. Even his own sons were just weapons for him to use, then toss aside when it suited him. He saw everything in the galaxy that wasn't him was worth less than a grain of sand. Hell, when Vivitines' empire fell to the jedi and sith, he didn't even use the remnants that survived to try and rebuild. He just mind controlled a entirely new species to make a new one from scratch.

"Insanely good voice acting..." Yeah, they do so well with both the trailers and the game itself. I'm fairly certain SWTOR broke the world record for most voice acted in game dialog when it came out. Not sure if they still hold it as they've only added more with the expansions, but still a big achievement. One of my favourite moments is with the bounty hunter story when I had to collect a bounty on a jedi master. He tried to pull a force trick to make me surrender and I clicked the option "I can wave my hands too." Him: "You will drop your weapons and surrender." Me: "You will realize what a complete idiot you are."

300 times better even in storytelling that everything Disney will ever be made for Star Wars.

I love the cannon reason that is given for why Jedi and sith don't just use the force to deactivate their opponents light saber. Jedi: "it is dishonorable and frowned upon." Sith: "You do that and your a Bi**."

I'm not even a fan of Star Wars, and I hate what Disney has done to the franchise. I know he said it a few times, but this was a VIDEO GAME, and this was more impactful than anything Disney has done with the franchise. If Disney doesn't get it together I can only see it collapsing under its own weight.

The Jedi that died in the last clip is called Kao Cen Darach, he was the Battlemaster of the Jedi Order of that time. He only died to Malgus because he was exhausted from the entire fight. The Jedi that survived is called Satele Shan, she is a descendant of Revan and Bastila Shan, in that clip she is a Padawan, in the forest battle clip she is a knight. And in the game she is the Grand Master of the order. The Republic Trooper Corpal that escaped with Satele is Jace Malcom, once leader of Havok Squad of the Republic special forces and later Colonel of the Republic military, he and Satele would eventually have a child named Theron Shan.

And the funny part is that Disney keeps dipping into Legends (Palpatine reviving, Thrawn, etc) and they can't even do that well.

During the whole fight on the bridge between the mother and the yellow sabers I was just thinking "there were no strong female characters in Star Wars before Rey and the Acolyte", over and over again. On a loop in my head, because it's what the "fans" of Disney Star Wars keep claiming.

I feel like Nux would actually love the Clone Wars show. There is a lot to analyze, like how war changes people and stuff.

The Old Republic cinematics are pure gaming cinema, I just feel goosebumps watching them. Honestly suck that the last three cinematics are out of order in this video but still love seeing them.

The Sith's of the old republik were an actual Race. Their race was called "Sith". The "Sith's" from the new republik, like Palpatine, Maul, Doku etc. are users of the Dark Side, but not the actual race. That's the major difference between the OG Sith and the new Sith. Nux, to help you out, the 'dad' is the Sith Emperor Darth Vitiate. He WAS responsible for Darth Revan turning to the Dark Side. And the Old Republic Era ended thousands of years before the events of Phantom Menace. And to make it better, when you mentioned the Rule of Two, it was inspired by Revan's philosophy, which is why Darth Bane created it.

1:44 This guy here is the Eternal Emperor, Valkorion, also known as the Sith Emperor Vitiate, and born as Tenebrae, a Sith Pureblood. The guy who I think is better than Palpatine. Because Tenebrae was almost 1500 years old when he was FINALLY defeated! The guy who created and did his entire plan himself, his plan to drain ALL life from the galaxy to became immortal. Palpatine just inherited a 1000 year old plan to take over the galaxy from many other Sith who came before him. Tenebrae started and almost finished the plan himself. He started his Sith Empire, manipulated Revan and Malak, who created their own Empire to fight the Republic, then nearly 300 year later has his Empire attack the Republic. And then when he decided his Sith Empire was a "failed experiment", he decided to go back to his second Empire, the Eternal Empire and have them attack his old empire and the Republic. Meanwhile Palpatine somehow returned.

Best part of SWTOR: Your Faction and your Morality are not tied. You can be a Dark Side "Jedi" serving the Republic, a Light Side "Sith" serving the Empire, an honorable Bounty Hunter working for the Sith, or a total POS smuggler doing deals with the Republic Senate. And of course you can play it straight, Dark Sith, Light Jedi, etc.

5 minutes of the Eternal Empire cinematic has more story than the entire Acolyte

The fact Disney has access to lore like this and does nothing is insane. They own Star Wars. Make a movie about the Twins. Animated or live action. That is such rich lore and quality story telling and they just ignore it. We just watched 10 minutes of 2 twins who never said a word. And it was a more powerful Star Wars story than we have gotten in years. Not one word of dialogue. Quality film making right there. Disney should hire these people who made this.

Just a reminder that these videos Nux watched this time are just ads for a video game they're trying to sell, and they put more love and care into these than Disney put into their actual serious content. Ps: It absolutely warms my heart to see someone else start to understand how frustrating it has been for a fan like me who actually was into this stuff back then only to see it turn into what Disney turned it into. To be into Star Wars when they had a shit ton of stong female characters that were actually really cool, only to see all of them wiped away and replaced with really lame and uninteresting ones and see the new creators act like they did something Star Wars never did before.

Hoo this is what I wanted to see! But these are not in-game cinematics, they're just trailers. There are 8-hour long videos that play through the actual full story and give context to what you're seeing in the these trailers, because while they look cool they don't actually tell a story. The order is super weird...why start with Knights of the Fallen Empire? Return should have been first.

Disney would never use these characters for the selfish reason that Disney is trying to make Star Wars theirs and only theirs, they dont care weather the fans will enjoy it or not, they only care that Star Wars is theirs now and that they can do anything they want with the franchise as long as wee keep subscribing to Disney+. Also you didn't watch these in order at all if you grabbed an "all cinematics" vid to watch they would've put them in order. 1. “Return” - June 2011 (sets up the sith empire returning) 2. “Hope” - June 2010 (finishes an arc from the first trailer) 3. "Deceived” - July 2009 (finishes the overall sith return arc) 4. “Sacrifice” - June 2015 (now the brothers and daughter arc can start) 5. “Betrayed” - October 2016 (finish the daughter arc) 6. “Disorder” - February 2022 (reboot sith vs Jedi) you didn't even watch this one This order actually tells stories and keeps lore within itself. You can tell the first 3 go in my order because of Darth Malgus' mask, he dosent have one in Return, he has half one in Hope, then in Deceived he has a full mask. The way you viewed it blew their load early and didn't recover. There is a genuine story continuity with these trailers and if you watch it out of order it just looks like you're watching trailers instead of watching an actual story within the trailers. And yes, these trailers are 15 years old.

I'll answer your questions as I watch through. These trailers are set around 3600 years before the movies, and yes this is before the rule of two. And since this is the Legends timeline, the High Republic era (and the Acolyte) isn't part of this.

35:16 this is legit my favorite moment in star wars. Darth malgus lead the charge and conquered Coruscant with military force and held it against the Republic, forcing them to accept a tenuous galactic cease fire. To my knowledge no other person in the star wars universe has ever managed to do this until the Yuuzang Vong (a race from outside the galxy) blew it up in the yuuzanf vong war appx. 2065 years later. Needles to say Darth malgus is my favorite sith

Just the fact that they could make more of a story in a 7-10 min cinematic then Disney could tell in an entire series says a lot

Cool cowboy smuggler is voiced by Joe Dimaggio, aka Bender from Futurama. Also, there's one more trailer after these ones. These were all released over a decade ago, but there was a more recent expansion and trailer a few years back. Graphics get a crazy upgrade, and the trailer is sick as hell.

My theory is malgus held back during the duel before his master was seriously wounded because he didn't want his master to know his strength had increased to that level or he would become wary or even attempt to have malgus eliminated, so he let the Jedi wound his master, notice he stopped attacking after they both attacked at the same time for no good reason aside from that he was letting it happen, so that he could kill and take his master's place without the rest of the sith knowing he betrayed his master. Would make it easier to betray others in future and prevent any possible revenge plots for it, he was intelligent so planned for any and all possibilities imo anyway. never really looked into malgus and learnt bout him only through these trailers and the game itself, but didn't get far through it, I only completed a few planets as either sith or Jedi so never learnt much from the game.

The old Republic "Sacrifice" cinematic had more Story, better writing and characters in less than 5 min than the entire ahsoka tano Show.

Back in the time of Old Republic, the "normie" classes were just built different. Republic Trooper/Commando/Vanguards are elite soldiers with guns kitted out with grenades, missiles, ammo and physical conditioning so hard *they have skills which include buttstock/shoulder checking enemies for damage* Republic Smugglers/Sharpshots/Scoundrels are lucky, blaster-tootin' pirates that throw hands, blast point blank with scatterguns and have immaculate accuracy Imperial Bounty Hunters/Powertechs/Mercenaries are offshoot mercs or Mandalorians with enough equipment and armor to overthrow a small government by themselves and jetpack uppercut sith/jedi Imperial Agents/Snipers/Operatives pack vibroknives, dirty fighting techniques, stealth generators, sniper rifles and *orbital strikes* to win the war for the Empire Who wants to be a force user when you can play the game as 8 out of 16 normie classes and *vibe check Force users for fun?*

If you want a deep philosophical plot, the motivations and character of the sith emperor Vitiate/Valkorion is absolutely amazing

I love that in the second cinematic shown here, the woman uses the forbiden Lightsaber Teqnique, Trakata. a Teqnique where you use the lightsaber's ability to turn on and off in order to swiftly slay your enemies by turning it off to bypass blocks, and turning it on while it is facing your opponent to kill them

They were out of order sadly, but this lineup of cinematic trailers is galactically better than anything from mainline Disney star wars, there's just no competition. If they don't fuck up the KotOR remake the new generation of people can finally get a taste of what actual good quality is like.

Why are they running out of order? For context the first two are in order but take place long after the second to last one, that one takes place after the one before it, and the last one is the first one. * * * * * * * On the normal Republic Soldiers taking on Sith. As I understand it the Sith drafted any Force Sensitives they could find in conquered regions into their army, gave them enough training to make them effective warriors, and sent them into the grinder. Any that showed promise were offered greater honours and apprenticeship under Sith Lords; and if they effed up they would die horribly and be replaced by the next most promising prospect.

Ironically, valkorian, the dad in white, did the same thing as Vader and Palpatine when training the Emperor's royal guards. Make they train as brothers until out of a group of like 50, only one survives to be the newest member)

It's important to realize that all of these were announcement vids. The last 3 were trailers that proceeded the game's initial release. Showcasing the different classes along with telling one hell of a setup. Satele Shan has been fleshed out better in these vids than in any other medium. Master class in storytelling.

See you'd think the 2nd story is about a woman who loses her daught to the dark side but it's really a metaphor for what happens when parents send their kids off to college.

These cinematics can be basically divided into 2 parts, the first one consist of 3 trailers made on the release of the game that establish the situation the galaxy is in at the beginning of the game chronologically the first one is the one where the 2 sith fight against 2 jedi on the space station, it shows the return of the sith to the galaxy and the beginning stages of the war the next one is where the trooper and the jedi fight against the sith on alderaan, it shows the ongoing war (these are also the same characters as in the previous cinematic (also fun fact, the female jedi becomes a grand master, the same rank yoda had)) the last one of the 3 sacking of coruscant, almost 30 years after the war started the sith proposed a peace treaty, during the talks they launched a surprise attack on coruscant what allowed them to force the republic to agree to divide the galaxy in half establishing the cold war between the sith empire and the republic during which the actions of the game take place the "second part" of these cinematics are trialers made for knights of the eternal empire and knights of the eternal throne expansions, they focus on the story of valkorion, the leader of the zakuul empire, and his family (his wife (the mother with the blue lightsaber, twin sons and a daughter). Said empire launched an attack at both the republic and the sith empire bringing both of these superpowers to their knees

The Clone Wars is some of the best Star Wars out there. It takes almost a season to find it's feet and you should definitely look up a chronological watch order, but it's absolutely worth it in the end.

I looked through about 100 comments. None of them are saying that these were watched out of Timeline order. Not sure if you all care, but the Lore makes more sense in this order: Korriban video, Aldaraan video, Coruscant video, the game itself, the twin brothers video, and then the video with the woman and her daughter. In my opinion, these two are last because they were add ons to the original game.

Okay, these were wildly out of order. Actual chronological order: 5, 3, 4, then years later 1 and 2 about the same time. 5: Darth Malgus and his master spearhead the attack to retake Korriban, with Satele Shan escaping. 3: During the war, Satele helps Havoc Squad (Republic Special forces) begin to liberate Aldaaran, defeating the Sith under Malgus 4: During the peace talks between the Sith and the Republic, Darth Malgus leads a force to sack the Jedi temple, in a lightning raid giving the Sith far more bargaining power during the negotiations. 1-2: Gives you the back story for the main antagonists, and some of your allies in two of the later expansions Knights of the Fallen Empire and Knights of the Eternal Throne respectively.

It gets even worse when you start seeing Vaylin's @ 22:37 personality legit seems like a rebellious child that's never gotten her way and at this point is STRAIGHT UP lashing out at anything and everything that even just slightly annoys her. Honestly one of my favorite characters she's freaking insane but its very understandable, since she is just a broken and lonely child lashing out for attention.

To summarize it all: The order of the videos is 4 5 2 3 1. The Timeline is at the peak of the Sith Empire, some 300 years after Revan and KOTOR. Clips 1 2 and 3 are centered around Satele Shan, a descendant of Revan and the youngest Jedi Grand Master in history, as well as Darth Malgus, a Sith Lord who single handedly forced the Republic into a ceasefire agreement. The first clip is the Sith Empire coming out of hiding and attacking the Galaxy, starting with retaking their ancient homeworld of Korriban (Exegol from EP9 is one of Korribans moons). Second clip is at the high of the war, where we also see the Havoc Squad, the republics best non-jedi soldiers. Clip 3 is the Sacking of Coruscant, where Malgus successfully blitzed the Republic's capital and forced them into a ceasefire. Noteable characters: Nico Okarr, the smuggler in clip 1, THE smuggler of all smugglers; Jace Malcolm, the guy in clip 2 who punched Malgus with a Hand Grenade; Shae Vizsla, the Mando woman in clip 3; T7, the Astromech in clip 3 who becomes pivotal for the ingame story. Clips 4 and 5 are later into the game. The Sith Emperor Vitiate abandoned the Sith Empire and secretly made a 3rd faction, the Eternal Empire of Zakuul. The twins are Arcann (white robe) and Thexan (black robe, dead) while the girl is Vaylin, the youngest of the 3. All 3 are children of Vitiate. The adult woman is Senya, their mother and a guard captain of Zakuul who was snarky and witty enough to rizz the emperor into nutting in her more than once (W rizz). However, to Vitiate, all of it was just another experiment. The twins were failures and he groomed them into weapons. Vaylin however was so strong in the force that the emperor was actually afraid of her, which is why he took her to the planet Nathema to put mental locks on her so her power is restrained, which also majorly fucked up her psyche in the process. Nathema is a place of interest, as it is Vitiate's birthplace. As a teenager he tricked multiple Sith Lords into committing a Sith Ritual that consumed all life on the planet and gave Vitiate eternal longevity, which is why he is still alive centuries after Revan. The Ritual created a null-zone in the void on Nathema where the Force is so damaged and broken that it actively messes with force-sensitive people's minds.

I missed the old republic, had chills all over while watching, This is why I love Star Wars

Hearing the reviews for the newest episodes of The Acolyte, I'm both scared and excited to see him continue it with even more knowledge of just how perverse it is from the original star wars lore 💀
