If Anakin didn't loose the fight on Mustafar he would have had the potential to become one of the strongest force users but his injuries severly nerfed his potential and completely removed his access to certain abilities like Force Lightning.

Nihilis isn't merely a sith, he's a consequence of events preceding KOTOR2. Nihilis is a walking, living breach in the Force itself. His humanity is referenced in the past tense, "he was a man". His ability to consume life comes from an affliction, not a learned technique. A regular jedi or sith, no matter how powerful, has no means to resist being consumed. He is unconcerned with power, sith teachings, the Republic - there's only the next feed. He's built different. He is not the same.

Bit of a clarification on Vitiate. He was dead but his spirit wasn't gone. What Revan wanted to do was revive Vitiate so that he could erase even the man's spirit, effectively preventing Vitiate from ever coming back by possessing another body or as a Force spirit. In a lot of ways he was right - Vitiate eventually did return by possessing another person to become Valkorion, meaning that if Revan had succeeded that never would have happened.

Darth Malgus lore is a trip.

Insofar as "they're not starving for lore", the chose to starve themselves when bought four billion dollars worth of Star Wars, and then immediately hurled the two-billions of it that was the Expanded Universe directly into ocean. My memory of this is that Disney basically said "what kind of nerd keeps track of forty years of lore, surely we can do better than this."

The rule of 2 is also a known thing in media, it's called the 'conservation of ninjutsu'. The gist is when the protagonist walks into a room and sees a hundred guys all dressed in the same uniform and masks saying how they're gonna kill him you know he's gonna get out without a scratch. Meanwhile if he steps into the room where its one guy in a robe who is completely silent you know he's gonna get his ass kicked. Like in Power Rangers.

The long and short on Abeloth is that she was so dangerous that the only reliable way that could be found to contain her that folks at the time could come up with was using dozens of black holes to trap her on a planet. They could not kill her, only contain her. She literally functions like The Thing. She could take over your body and you wouldn’t know until she takes the reins at which point you are unable to ever go against her control. She is actually terrifying.

I’d like to point out for Nux that Exar Kun’s force ghost remained within the ruins of Yavin 4 (yes, the same ruins the Rebels were holed up in during Episode 4) for 4000 years after his physical death and caused problems for Luke just as he was starting his Jedi Academy. Yeah, Exar ended up being quite the cockroach as far as Sith went what with how much damage he ultimately caused since the Great Sith War.

People always seem to underplay Nihilus's abilities outside of Force Drain. The guy ripped his entire fleet out of the enhanced gravity of Malachor V and keeps them operational through the Force alone. He was said to be somewhat good with a lightsaber, though that's obviously not his forte.

No, the Sith worship THE DARK SIDE of the Force itself. They are devoted to their tenants. The mantra you hear them recite. Dark Side users, are just Force Sensitives, who wield the Dark Side. Yeah, Nihilus is a true beast. The only reason he lost at all was Kreia set him up to fight 3 people he couldn't drain: Mandalore (no force potential to drain), Visas Marr (Force Linked to him to a nearly fatal degree), and Meetra Surik (a wound in the force like him).

You have to understand that Nihilus while once a normal man is no longer one. He is literally considered a wound in the force that is constantly devouring planets whole. He is more akin to a force of nature than any other sith.

The Darth Bane book explains how Revan came up with the rule of two and how it would eventually make the sith infinitely more powerful by staying in the shadows. Making the apprentice kill the master was also a way to ensure only the strongest would get to remain. Thus every generation of sith after the end of the Sith empire/republic war (roughly 1000 years before a new hope) Bane was so intent on making sure his successors would be stronger that when he thought his apprentice that he had raised SINCE CHILDHOOD was too weak he sent her on a death mission hoping she would die while he found a way to become functionally immortal. GREAT trilogy can't recommend enough.

Fun fact in original canon sidious was strong enough to create a lightning storm across space and destroy fleets while also being a force ghost. I think he leaves out any time a character is dead or in another form than just standard sith.

There's a great video on Kreia, btw. I'm not a big SW fan, but she's my favorite character. Her writing is absolutely superb, and Disney is not capable of replicating one mitochlorian of its greatness.

Darth Nihilus' power was the result of a super weapon called the Mass Shadow Generator that Revan used during the Mandolorian Wars. Kreia sensed him, found him, and began training him in the Ways of the Force in hopes of controlling his need to consume it, all it did was magnify his hunger till that was all that remained. So kinda like Hulk, Nihilus was an anomaly caused by powerful and mysterious technology. There IS an ability called Force Drain that dark-siders can learn to drain the life from living creatures, but nowhere near to the extent that Nihilus did so. @36:27 The theory of The Rule of Two was a solid one, but you just discovered why it's not the end-all-be-all, MANY Sith apprentices killed their masters during moments of weakness and vulnerability, they weren't all honor-duels with the best man/woman winning. In fact, some Sith even killed their apprentices if they felt that the apprentices were simply waiting for the master grow old and weak, taking such a scheme as not only cowardly but weakening the future Sith.

Sidious brute forcing his way into world between worlds is pretty big feat. I know not everyone cares for rebels but it’s a tangent of mortis lore as well and in legends his legacy also doesn’t end with RotJ.

Rouge One is the only Disney SW movie worth watching and giving any bit of attention. I'd say you should give it a watch.

And when he killed his father, he inherited all the debt to the mining company. So he would be trapped there till death if he didn't join the Sith. Darth Bane didn't create any new Dark Side Techniques, but he re-collected much of the lost knowledge. Because his contemporaries thought studying the old Sith was a waste of time, He killed all of them for their stupidity. Darth Bane didn't spend lots of time hunting and killing Jedi in a bloodthirsty rage like many sith. He strategized, he spent his years designing The Grand Plan. He wanted to be killed, so the rule of 2 would create a Sith who was powerful but Mostly clever enough to destroy the entire Jedi order.

Yes nux what you really need to learn are all the force powers and which are lightside powers which are nuetral and which are darkside.

I understand why we didn't get Valkorian/Vitiate in the list at his full power, but the man was a 1-man Tyrannid Army, he ate multiple planets draining the force from them so completely that nothing could survive on the surface of the planet, not even bacteria. The very air of the planet was toxic to force wielders, driving them insane because the planet became a void in the force, and as Kenobi said in 'A New Hope', the force is all around us, binding everything together. To go somewhere where it doesn't exist, well... He was also similar to the God Emperor of Mankind, getting all his power by, at a the relatively young age of ~113, killing and absorbing the power of thousands of other extremely powerful sith by tricking them into performing a ritual for power with him (the ritual resulting in their deaths and his ascension to effectively godhood) - though in the God-Emperor's (or as I like to call him thanks to TTS, the Man-Emperor of Mankind's) case it was all voluntary

Darth Bane and Darth Zannah need to be covered. The Darth Bane Trilogy is easily some of the best content Star Wars has ever produced

As much as I’m down for shitting on Disney Star Wars I will say Andor is genuinely an amazing and mature show that really tells a compelling story and excels with its dialogue and writing to a point where the best scenes are speeches or characters interacting. It also came out at a time where I was sick of seeing the empire in anything and Andor did such a good job with its worldbuilding and depiction of the empire that I was so engrossed despite being so fed up with seeing the empire.

Still waiting for Starkiller and how amazed he'll be.

Honestly most Gray Jedi are pretty OP because they have the ability to learn Most if not ALL Force powers(including immortality)

Valkorion, Vitiate and Tenebrae are all the same sith Emperor he could poses bodies. The Sith betrayed The Emperor Vitiate/Tenebrae so he took the body of The King Zakuul called Valkorion & had his twin sons destroy the Jedi & the Sith who betrayed him. Vitiate = Valcorion = Tenebrae ruled for 1,500 years. Like Nihilus, Tenebrae could life drain a planet to extend his life.

I don't know of any videos on the subject but the basics are that Banite Sith used the term 'dark side acolyte' very heavily to get around their 1 master and 1 apprentice schtick. Even with that neither Dooku nor Palpatine considered Asajj to be Sith, at best a poser with utility. There were plenty of secret apprentices, both of the master and the apprentice, who were considered Sith whether they were titled or not. She could certainly have been trained as a Sith, but there were pretty much always better options available and her long term fate would almost certainly have been being used as a testing gate against any true apprentice either Dooku or Palpatine wanted. They considered her to lack the mindset necessary and not being worth the effort to fix when Anakin was right there. Previous Sith either passed the term around freely, where every schmuck with an ounce of force sensitivity was titled Sith, given a saber, and pushed on the front lines to be part of the meat grinder, or restricted it to varying degrees. The biggest restriction outside the Banites was probably the Brotherhood Of Darkness which only picked the most talented with the most potential to become Sith (roughly, they wanted every Sith to be equal to a Jedi Master) and relegated the rest of them to specialized training to become typically assassins, spies, mystics, and warriors and marauders trading the broad spectrum of Force abilities for specialization to account for their limited talent. The Sith Empire under Vitiate and its predecessor founded by Ajunta Pall was aristocratic in nature and tended to reliably produce competent Sith but not as reliably as the later BOD and Banites, at the expense of locking out everyone not part of the aristocracy.
