The longest video of the story of this amazing channel , it's been so good watching the videos and the members talking to each other about countries , languages and culture
This was a great compilation. You can compare not only the differences between words, but also, and maybe it is even more funny, how different people from different culteres behave. Like who they tend to be more disciplined and who try to speak at the same time with other guests, who is calm, who smiles more etc.
I haven't seen any Turkic person on this channel. Turkey with words sourced from many different places might be a good addition for being the East-West bridge it is.
Turkish word for shark is "köpekbalığı" (literal meaning: dog-fish). We had the same connection as the Slovenes. Dogs may be cute, but they can bite too.
This is Indo-European feature (there are examples in Slovene, Croatian, Serbian, Italian, French, German, old English,...), Turkish probably borrowed the concept from Indo-European.
I'm Peruvian and I really love this channel so much, I feel connected with the different languages, customs and also the fellowship that exists in all people around the world make me believe that the world can sometimes be a friendly place. Greetings/Saludos!! 🇵🇪🌎🌍🌏
А Россия, по-Вашему мнению не "slavic?)) Мелочные. Вы думаете, что это так красиво и правильно, игнорировать самую большую в мире страну, которую населяет больше 150 национальностей? Бездушные снобы и лицемеры.
Great vid - has the American girl who started around 56 mins on drugs or had one to many? I'm sorry if there is something wrong here but honestly, she sounds like she's on something....
3:00 'Pão' sounds pan-um and that comes from latim 'panum' (breads) and the plural is 'pães' (sounds pan-is) from latim 'panis' (bread). Edit: The '~' signal is basically a simplified N used to make nasal vowels like 'ã' and 'õ', without the sound of consonant.
Interesting! In Australia, I had chance to gather Chinese Japanese Korean. Just for fun we said our own language, we found out some similar pronunciation words
Russian people are cold and rarely show they are friendly… i met many russian travellers, said hi to them but rarely saw them react to that… not even said a word or even a smile face… Dont know… looks like the whole world ruined their life so they had to act in that way
@1:22:24 - Spanish girl (forgot her name) beside Janine is very good recognizing word "Palaruan". She's the start learning of everything Tagalog. Perfect.
1:39:19 The US rarely calls it a drug store. Maybe if you were from a much older generation they would say that. Nowadays people say Pharmacy, even the buildings say Pharmacy here lol.
For Slavic languages, you missed Czech. I would say Czech does not have so many similarities with other Slavic languages. You could have heard quite a difference in accent then also. Maybe next time. I think Czech is the furthest from the other slavic languages.
О серьёзно? А может быть им стоило для сравнения включить один из 6 главных мировых языков ООН - русский? Но конечно, национализм превыше всего, да, европейцы?))
Football in Indonesia more known as sepakbola literally means kicking the ball, but if someone use the term bola kaki literally means football people will understand it as well
En Perú se dice metro o tren eléctrico. Nadie le llama metropolitano. La chica se confundió. El metropolitano son una línea de buses, como el Transmilenio de Bogotá o el Transantiago de Chile, que solo hay en Lima que no tiene nada que ver con los trenes que tenían en mente los demás que era un metro o tren urbano.
In Nepal we say Red, or in Nepali we call Rato. My Name is Aayush Suwal, I Lived in Nepal, Country, and I am Studying at Lalit Kala Campus, Tribhuvan University, Bachelor of Fine Art at Kritipur, Place in Nepal. 🙏💐🕊
@@HarveyAnk Most of the time they are using words in titles that are generic or can cause a misunderstanding. Or using it just because they don't know exactly what European means, which is also a possibility. Sometimes can be a mistake, ok, but when it turns a usual thing...
Eh just don't even look at the video titles. This channel is great because of the cast but the people running it are clueless most of the time, never seen them responding to comments or fixing typos in titles.
@@fanofallaroundaudreyandjus544 I know that, but for a channel with almost 1 million subscribers they could hire a PR person or two who speaks English don't you think?
In Lombard which is the language of my region Lombardy we say pomm de tera for potato. It comes from French. By the way Polish word for house dom comes from Latin domus
Politics still affects your channel, you presented Slavic countries, but forgot to include Russia and Belarus!!!! It's an understaffing, dislick the video!!!

@@Varyeloh yeah absolutely, soviet influence was huge in last century . Usually people use it on car parts because we really didn’t gave name to them 😅 P.S: hell we even call cars “machine” (машин) but it is actually “tereg” (тэрэг)
