Damn heart issues, drug overdoses, and suicides. Most of those deaths from heart problems and suicides were most likely cause by steroid overuse for years. It's really sad.
its not a secret a lot of them took a lot drugs. but what shocks me the most is how many wrestlers killed themself ,horrobile ,sr for my bad english,420 peace from germany
@@alexeicogan4733 His career was over because he took an injury payout from Lloyd’s of London an$ went through the money. In order to wrestle again,he had to pay it back, but couldn’t afford it. He was in bad financial shape.
What is ridiculous is all of the overdoses and also the suicides, It is really sad because there were some awesome wrestlers in this list, some that I remember from way back in my childhood.
@melinda fox yes it is very sad all list were my favorite wrestlers growing up 90's wwf, ecw, wcw It just shows how brutal the sport of pro wrestling can be on body with travel taking bumps in ring for yrs.
What comes to my mind is how roids we’re involved in those deaths, Fallen Angel(Nancy Benoit) was a causality of it, my body was shocked when I saw her. So so sad. God Bless God Country Family
It's worse being 6'10. You have no idea how hard it is keeping things like muscles, joints, organs etc in check at that size. All while taking bumps? Get outta here.
I wonder if there are commonalities between the type of drugs? Like do Testotorone boosters or HGH or Steroids cause heart attacks? Pain killers? I think there are a lot of wrestlers who use any or all of the above. Especially pain killers with how bad they beat up their bodies.
Noris Alvarez Eddie guerro actually did not die of a heart attack and Owen heart died of a fall when he was getting lowered and Eddie guerro died in a hotel he did not die on the wwe stage because I think he had heart failure
Andre used to pick up and carry my mother with one arm at Holiday Inn California. She was his favorite waitress. I wish I could find a picture of that seen. Lol
May all the superstars continue to wrestle in heaven. Thankyou for giving me the memories you provided when you were wrestling. God bless all the superstars and their families.Amen.
I sat down and did an interview with Junkyard Dog two weeks before he was killed. He was such a motivational speaker. The night after the show he had stayed around after we had packed up and called us into the dressing room. One by one he spoke to us as if he had known us all of our lives. There wasn't a dry eye in the room. Such a great person. RIP JYD.
A lot of these wrestlers I used to watch when I was a kid. Roddy Piper, Earthquake, "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert, Eddie Guerrero, etc. I miss watching these guys and the more wrestlers that die, the more my childhood dies with them. 😔 Rest In Paradise to all of them.
Out of all the fallen wrestlers that have come and go, Eddie was the one who made the most impact on my life in regards to his passion, dedication, his love for the fans and with the locker room, ring skills, as well as his mic skills. If only i would have gotten a chance to meet him, but never did. I still miss him, dammit! 😢😢😭😭😭 R.I.P Eddie Guerrero Viva La Raza!
This was very fascinating and informative, I must say that I was totally shocked by some of them. Because I didn't know that they were Dead. But what WAS most shocking to me WAS the number of suicides that occurred. This was very sad in a lot of ways. In some cases it just goes to show that money doesn't ALWAYS buy you happiness. So SAD, So Tragic. REST in peace to All of them.✝️🛐☮️💟❤️🙏.
Sad thing is most of these suicides came from those who were screwed out of the only business they loved by greedy promoters who used them and threw them away when said wrestler served it's purpose.
I think it's sad that when an athlete ruins his (her) life with drugs or alcohol there are waves of scorn, but when an actor or singer does the same thing we cry an ocean. I think Kerry von Erich's and Sherri Martel's lives were every bit as valuable as Phillip Seymour Hoffman's or Amy Winehouse's, but the public's reactions are very different. It's too bad that anyone succumbs to that poison, and I lament their passing equally.
Born in 1974 and grew up watching many of these folks entertain me and my grandfather, uncles, cousins, etc. Thanks for sharing the video here. Rest in Peace to all of these individuals.
To me the saddest one in the video is David Von Erich. No just because he died young, and from something that could easily been prevented. But because it started a chain of events in his family that led to three of his younger brothers (also wrestlers) committing suicide.
The Von Erichs introduced me to wrestling. Their feud with the Fabulous Freebirds was epic. I feel for that family, I can't imagine losing 5 of 6 sons. Hopefully the remaining members of the family have found peace
The very first Wrestling match my father brought me to was in Worcester MA. at the old Mechanics Hall in the late 50's and on the card was Haystacks Calhoun. I was awestruck by his size and agility and from then on I was a FAN!!
its sad how many people that i wrestled with in the early 2000s are gone so soon. Wrestlings hard people and the road might be worse yet. we all need more love and hugs
To update people on the wrestlers who have recently passed away we have the following: Mr. Fuji Timothy Well Jimmy Snuka Chavo Guerrero Sr. George the Animal Steele Nicole Bass Ivan Koloff Larry Sharpe Matt (Rosey) Anoa'i
Plus some others forgot to be put in this video who died before this video was made are the following: Verne Gagne Nick Bockwinkel Iron Mike Sharpe Axl Rotten Hayabusa Blackjack Mulligan
I think that there should be some sort of investigation into the WWE - it is not normal for this many people to be dropping dead in their 30's and 40's
im not watching any of this video. im only here to make this comment. regardless of who died and how they died doesnt matter. lets all let em RIP. AND just be upset that they arent here anymore to entertain us or be with their families.
I disagree in some cases.... Chris Benoit killed his family, that's including his 7 year old son, then himself so... yea.. idk ...RIP scumbag. That being said, you can shove that comment of yours straight up your ass dude...
Back during my teens I had imagined myself being one of these wrestlers, the American Shepherd was going to be my ringside name. Maybe it's best that that never happened after seeing this. I wonder if I'd still be alive today.
I don't want to sound mean, but many of these deaths are actually drug-related. I think that heart attacks are rare in people under 50, yet there are whole lot of them in wrestling. I believe 90% of these are from drug use or years of drug abuse wrecking their internal organs, thus bringing on the heart attack. Many of the older ones (60+) died from things which people that age die from, but with few exceptions, most died from drug related causes or suicide. Also, in the cases of Sherri and Miss Elizabeth, I heard that their overdoses were deliberate, so wouldn't that then be classified as "suicide".
@splattercat yeah it was on confedetial show host by mean gene okerlund in 2003 on tv when she died at time. wwe confendtial show air lex luger 911 call they had vince and superstars talk about miss elizabeth u can buy best of confendential on dvd which was short tv show during ruthless agression era in 2003.
I won't agree that heart attacks are 'rare' in people under fifty today, but yes, I do agree that heavy drug use factored in all the ones that weren't obviously weight related. :/
yeah lex luger 911 was on short lived show in 2003 wwe confidential which was only on for yr very short time during ruthless agression era. also mean gene hosted show in 2002-2003 all people from vince mcmahon and superstars from hulk hogan etc had nothing but nice things to say of miss elizabeth with working with her in wwf and wcw.
Please do this list again, but update it with more recent people too. Same list, same music, just add the recent ones too and anyone else you may have forgotten.
Actually, Crash Holly's death was a suicide by drug overdose. There are like 10 people on your list that committed suicide on different ways including: Eddie Graham Mike Von Erich Kerry Von Erich The Renegade Crash Holly Mike Awesome Chris Benoit Ludvig Borga Chris Kanyon Sean O'Haire
a quick update for this video. Balls Mahoney was recently posthumously diagnosed with CTE. It's pretty common in contact sports, multiple blows to the head leading to trauma. It can add up overtime. It's not official as of now, though.
@reformed rex no doubt since alot of chair shots to head in old heyman ecw also wwe. since balls was hardcore wrestler in old ecw also wwe new ecw also indies. so no suprise with balls mahoney who took alot chair shots to head alot of trauma in old ecw.
Apparently, "Macho Man" died of a sudden heart attack while behind the wheel of his Jeep Cherokee. The accident happened because the jeep started veering, and his wife grabbed the wheel to drive it off the road, and into a tree, instead of the oncoming lane of a major highway, where the jeep was veering. Also, I read that Savage's heart attack was due to an aortic dissection, the same thing that killed actor John Ritter.
These guys had something in common because just about all of them died of a heart attack. I think they should drug test them just like professional athletes. I believe that would stop all this death in the sport of wrestling
Calvin smith the drugs and steroids are part of it, no doubt, but so is the wear and tear on your body. In the UFC, if you compete, win or lose, you immediately get a 7 day medical suspension. 90 if you lose by KO. None of the territories could have survived that, nor could WWE today.
...or damage to major organs caused by drugs, which then makes them more prone to infection and other causes of death, because the body can't "protect" them like it is supposed to.
May they all Rest in Peace! So tragic! The one that broke my heart was Chyna, she died a week after my birthday. May they all be resting in Peace in God's loving arms!
It's been so long since I've watched wrestling,I didn't know alot of my favorite wrestlers were gone...I thought they had just retired from the spotlight.so sad their lives ended early some of them
I’m not a huge wrestling fan but I did watch it once in a while. It’s so sad that many of them died so young. Overusing steroids probably contributed to their early deaths. Suicides, murders , drug overdoses. Oh boy the wrestling life isn’t an easy one. May they all Rest In Peace.
Randy "Macho Man" Savage's heart attack was a little different to many of the others. Apparently, it had nothing to do with lifestyle. I heard that it was an aortic dissection, the same thing that killed John Ritter. It is often genetic and a birth defect. It is often undiagnosed and the person is like a ticking time bomb. So Savage could have died at any time from it in all his years. He was fortunate to get to the age he did. It happened when he was driving his car with his wife. But he had the heart attack at the wheel, and died. The car crashed because it started to veer into the opposite lane, and his wife turned the wheel and drove it into a tree. So the accident didn't kill him, the heart attack did. Savage's wife was credited with saving lives by driving the car away from traffic, but couldn't save Randy, who was dead behind the wheel.
A testament to what excesses and over pushing the human body can do to the body. The true and grim truth of what the wrestling business can push people to do.
