Today I sat down and did 100 Expert Rumours, here are the results! 0:00 - 100 Experts in 10 Hours 0:58 - Loot from 100 Expert Sacks 4:59 - XP rates compared to other methods 7:26 - Strategy and Optimal Block List
I just finished setting up blocks on my iron and it makes master rumours so good. Novice master is blocking sunlight moths. Adapt masters are blocking pyre foxes (and dark kebbits but that's not a master task) Expert masters are blocking sunlight antelopes and red salamanders. That left me only able to get red chins, dashing kebbits, moonlight moths, tecu salamanders, herbiboar, and moonlight antelopes. The only slightly frustrating task here is tecu salamanders, and that's only because it's so crowded. Chins for training range, kebbits for the meat, moonlight moths for the prayer mixes, salamanders for the xp (and chance at BIS salamander I guess), herbiboar for the xp and herbs, and moonlight antelopes for the meat and bolts.
thanks for the guide dude. I didn't use the exact same list, but this made rumours so much more enjoyable. some of my favorite content in the game now.
Being able to use the same furr for most tasks is soo good. Just blocked. Dashing kebbit , grey and red chins and sabre tooth kyatt. Now for any kebbit tasks i just do dashing kebbit. Its awesome. Thanks
I'd be interested to see the profit and xp from master rumours with the full hunter outfit. It double buffs the rumours since it increases catch rate and then also the rumour chance.
100 total rumours completed, I think 60 experts specifically? Had some suboptimal luck on setting up an initial blocklist and then again when retooling it for kebbit counterfeiting, but in those 60 experts I’m at 2 outfit pieces, 1 kit, and 2 of each whistle upgrade(got those early so some nice profit, bout 3m total). Hoping to get another outfit piece as I hammer out the next 40 or so expert tasks, but with the xp I’m getting it won’t be tooo long before I have to think about swapping to masters! Hoping we get some info on the pet drop soon, that’s what I want the most and knowing whether there’s a rate difference between expert/master rumours could really shake things up.
I've done ~100 experts and 15 adepts for blocks; only the adepts at the very start gave me any uniques. Unlucky, but thanks for confirming for me that you can get drops from experts.
Pyre Foxes really are the only thing in my opinion that are worth blocking. I could see it being worth to block Sunlight Antelope as well but really the only thing that I care about blocking are the foxes.
@@ameagher45 Mostly agree with this, especially as an ironman you might as well be banking both antelope/dashing kebbit meats. Red salamanders are worth blocking but not the worst thing in the world if you don't want to spend the time running through lower tier rumours to get the tasks. Tecus seem to take longer than other master tasks but are also decent enough xp. So really just get foxes blocked, red and tecu are optional.
I've done 60 rumours, only 1 piece of the set, the backpack, both blue prints for the whistle. Hopefully i will get lucky and get full set by 100 rumours. 84 hunter
I never finished eagles peak on my main so cant get chinchompa tasks My block list plan is sabre tooth kyatt on novice, pyre fox and spotted kebbit on adept and sunlight antelope on expert That way I'll only have salamander and falconry tasks
Yeah, if I ever end up making an alt I think skipping eagle’s peak is the play, all of my falcon and salamanders tasks are usually between 1-40 captures total, but I’ve had several chins run for over 200 captures now and that starts to drag on.
i really hope we get more interesting uniques from rumours. rumours are more interesting than red chins, and i think its kinda a problem that red chins basically give the same xp and loot value for way less effort and being more boring. i feel like as things stand right now, once i get the outfit i won't have a reason to keep doing rumours other than them being more fun. fun stuff is great but being punished for wanting to have fun is kinda shitty imo
They essentially reduced the Hunter skill to a daily from lvl 1-80, and until the Hunter Guild there's been little to no reason to train any other way than to check your birdhouses between other activities. The insane effective rates of birdhouses made hunter a pretty much abandoned skill because they'd have to drastically buff the rates to come close.
@@doubleshine totally get ya and can see how you could look down on that! i guess i never really relied on birdhouses as my only source of hunter XP, more so just a supplement to the other methods i would use. think we can all agree on thank god for the hunter guild making hunter more engaging as a whole. appreciate your input and vids always🤝
