Welcome to Albania! This stunning country along the Adriatic and Ionian Seas is one of the most underrated travel destinations in all of Europe, boasting hearty food, friendly locals, and breathtaking natural beauty.

In this documentary, I’m taking you to southern and southeastern Albania to explore the cities of Korce and Gjirokaster. Korce is the largest city in southeastern Albania, and is known as the “City of Serenades.” It has a thriving music and cultural scene, and is also known for its balconies, where local men would sing beautifue ballads.
Then, we’re heading to Gjirokaster, a UNESCO World Heritage city, which is famous for its stunning Ottoman-style houses and well-preserved Gjirokaster Castle, which dates back to at least the 12th century. Just below the castle is the Old Bazaar, where we’ll meet local stone and wood carvers and learn more about Albanian handicrafts.
Of course, we can’t visit these cities without diving into their food scene. From hearty trahana and pork with plum marmalade in Korce, to creamy chicken tavas in Gjirokaster, this will be a mouthwatering adventure like no other. So hang tight, grab a snack, and join me as we explore these hidden gems in southern and southeastern Albania. Let’s go!

Albania has very beautiful places and historical cultural heritage to be heard. You can also find good food and people who respect you. But be careful. Albania is a small country and is not ready to receive mass tourism.

Well David, I am done. I must admit that I skipped over all the drinking and watched everything else. Loved the food, the city, the carvings etc. Loved the crafts that you bought for Melina, Siena and yourself. I can't believe that that building is still standing and in such good condition. The cathedral, too, so beautiful. Amazing!!! I don't know what's next but I will wait and see. Look after yourself, Melina and Siena. Someone in a previous video comment said that you should be more of a father and spend more time with your 'kids'. I don't think he really knows you at all. 1:07:32 1-you definitely do not “kick, kick, kick, kick, kick, kick” 2-you never hold the reins like that 3-if the horse is running back to the barn pull back on the reins to discourage the bad habit. David,I am so enjoying your videos of my country, Albania. I also saw your video from Arthur Avenue,Bx ❤ When my father immigrated to America in 1967,Arthur Ave was where he first lived as an immigrant. Every so often when we visit family in Bronxville, we take a ride to Arthur Ave ,eat,buy baked goods and deli. Thank you David for introducing our Albanian culture to your viewers ❤ Bte,you're part of our Albanian fam,maybe you should consider getting that Albanian eagle tat :)
