This week i (Ste) dig out and install all the new drainage for the extension . It was quite tough and took nearly all day with the odd hick up too. It all makes a lot more sense now than when we dug it up...
It was all done in 100 mm brown underground plastic pipe .There are seperate drains for surface water and the foul ..... enjoy 🧱👍🏽
This week its the missing part 3 video . We uploaded part 4 by mistake last week . Its just a simple mainly normal speed video showing me and Al getting a few courses on before we prepped for the slab ....Enjoy

Don’t it just kill ya when only one tool is forgotten and it’s the one you want the most on that given day. It’s Murphy’s law to its fullest extent. I’ve seen entire towns without that much drainage to deal with. Great content 👍

This vid is a perfect example of just how bloody awkward it can be to work in narrow trenches. You lifting your leg up and down trying to get a comfy position had me smiling....been there countless times, then you place your weight on the top of the trench and the bloody thing collapses onto your work.....Oh the joys! Hope the hols are going well folks.

Too bloody right they are wide enough when you are shovelling them out! So long as the customer is happy and squares up at the end of the job, that's what makes it all worth while!

Water coming from washing machine staying over ground not connected to septic tank drain pipe work under ground nearby is it easy to connect this up to septic tank?

I know a roddable gully is accessible drain type of bell, but what does the "roddable" refer to? Snaking?

I was always under the impression the both the manufacture of the PVCu pipe and the building regs call for a 20/10mm granular surround to a foul drain, which I take to be as to surround the pipe Under over and to the side as in the dug trench should be 300 wide or do I stand to be corrected ?.

Typically, 110mm uPVC pipes are laid on a 100mm bed of granular material (normally pea gravel) up to the crown of the pipes and trench width should be kept to a minimum (generally pipe diameter plus 300mm). Thanks.

Hi Steve/Alex great work as always. Do you have two separate systems here i.e. one for waste and one for rain water? Can you add rain/surface water and waste into one drain system also or is this an issues? I was thinking a blockage followed by a storm (heavy rainfall) would be a disaster : )

Yes it is 2 seperate pipes , foul and surface water . They must be seperate unless its an old property which generally have a combined sewer. onr wat to tell is look in the road . if they are seperate you have 2 manholes side by side , sometimes the lids even say which is which 👌🏽🧱👍🏽
