When you first study Thai it's intriguing that the teacher spends so much time on teaching food related vocabulary, then you overhear conversations: THAIS SPEAK ONLY ABOUT FOOD.
@@nesrinisli6921 Try asking for a bowl of Somtum Phet Phet it may look tiny but you will struggle to finish it even though its totally delicious and definitely not sweet .... probably my favourite ;)
I was born in Thailand and lived there until I was 6. I moved to Germany and neglected speaking Thai in favor of learning German, English and French. Now I’m here to relearn my mother tongue
Thailand language really sounds good to me. sounds beautiful & cute. I visited Thailand three times and when I on travel, I always tried to speak thai language. thanks for teaching. from S.korea ฉันอยากกลับเมืองไทยอีกครั้ง❤
I watched LBC and Ae would always use informal/impolite versions of you and I. And when I was watching other BL dramas I was able to pick up when other characters were also using the same words. Though I think most everyone's first word they memorized was Raikantopeni. Lol
Me: *wants to learn Thai, Korean, and Japanese* My entire Mexican family who speaks Spanish (I’m not very fluent in spanish): When are you ever going to use those-
@@อิติปิโสภะคะวา she is a millennial ... but yes, she sound not so polite and respectfull. But still a good job. Except that she forget to explain the male and female form.
@@meiji542 That is just about the first thing they explain in every book, CD, DVD or upload. M: phom + khrab 👨 me ... phom F: (Di)chan + (na) kha 👧 me ... (di)chan
Learned Thai for about a month now, know the entire alphabet and vowels so now learning words. Difficult bit is when you have to remember how to spell it haha
I'm a Japanese. I currently live in Canada and I work in a Thai restaurant with Thai people :) I really love their culture and food! So I just started learning Thai :)!!! Your video is so helpful🇹🇭✨❤️
I really like how you're using the words in sentences like that, it feels very organic and natural. Very useful, thank you very much for your videos :)
The real reason I'm here is because I fell inlove with the language of thai, I really want to visit Thailand, I'm trying to learn thai since this morning. Love from Philippines! 🥰
Tips for Farang: I'm Thai, Watching videos that teach Thai help me leaning English more than an actual videos that teach English. It might work the same for you just try watching videos that teach English by Thai people.
A lot of new learners in Thai language say Chan for "I", But Chan is only used for girls so if you are a girl continue saying chan. If you are a guy you will say pohm (The O in pohm is pronouced as a long O) don't say chan as a guy that is only for GIRLS. So if you are a guy say pohm for "I" so people don't think you are weird or anything saying a girl phrase in thai.
Hopefully all I really wanted to Learn and Speak in Thai... Should i study the Thai alphabet first or Should I learn the basic words before learning Thai Alphabet
Jay is an excellent presenter. She presents the Thai language series with enthusiasm and is easy listening. I enjoy her personal stories while explaining words and phrases. She makes the language come alive. Highly recommended.
Keith Karrot A little too cutesy for my taste. Plus, if the target audience is absolute beginners, she should really explain that “Chan” Is only used by women. Although she does that on expression number 23 or so, she does not explain that earlier on in the video. Also, there were several instances where the expression was rendered only in Thai, and not in English transliteration. And absolute beginner would have no idea how to read the Thai script.
Please somebody tell me THAI language is easy to learn. Maybe you tried this tutorial or just lived in Thailand as a foreigner? Give me hope that this will get soon easier to understand and speak. I am getting overwhelmed because they are in no way similar to English and Filipino language I know. I am very alien to this. Not to mention their letters and handwriting. OMG help
I just started learning thai for about a week now. Starting to memorize the alphabets and vowels along with the tones is super hard. But surprisingly, Thai grammar is so easy. It’s not complicated like English at all. Hoping that I will be able to speak Thai in about 6 months from now.
There’s a special key missing part of this (I’m not saying it’s bad it’s just a good idea to include this) for respect when you say sorry put ‘krap’ if man or ‘Ka’ for girl behind it so like, sorry krap/ka. Also use krap/ka after hello’s. LAST THING: the higher you put your hands when doing hello 🙏 the higher ‘class’. I haven’t used Thai in a while but I’m pretty sure you put it on your chest for ¿strangers? and near your chin for elders or respected people. Top of head for religious figures alive/deceased. Idk where you put for the royal family top of head or chin or in between. Sorry if my grammar is bad it’s nearly 3 in the morning and I’m half dead. Hope this helps 😊
I do Doordash and like to say 'hello', 'thank you' and 'goodbye' in the native language of the restaurant I pickup from. I was using Google translate, which is good, but You tube is also very helpful! thanks
How do you say these few words? 1. Pain/Hurt. My knee hurt from the fall. 2. Scared/Afraid. I'm afraid of the dark. 3. Up/Down. You need to walk up/You need to walk down. 4. See/Look. [at store/shop] Let me see around first / Look left and right. 5. Try. Can I try this dress? 6. Stop. Can make a stop at 7-Eleven? / Stop what you're doing. 7. Calculate. Please calculate my purchase. 8. Open/Close (store/shops). Is the shop still open? Is the shop close? I hope you can have lessons by category i.e, body parts, clothes, taste, etc. Thank you.
Hello, I am from Myanmar. I became familiar with this channel while attending a university in Thailand. I plan to study Thai language again using this channel.
I have a game for you guys to play. If you want to test your Thai language (just for fun, enjoy)☺️🇹🇭 1.Which word means toilet?🚽🛁🚿 A. ประตู B.ห้องน้ำ C.ไม้ถูพื้น 2.Which word means I want it?💁🏻♀️🙋 A.ฉันไม่ชอบมัน B.มันคืออะไร? C.ฉันต้องการมัน 3.Which word means adult, child?🧓🏽👶🏼 A.ผู้ใหญ่ , เด็ก B.นม , ไข่ C.เช้า , เย็น Keep in mind the three that you think are correct and try not to cheat! And come to see the answer under the comment. Tell me how much you get.🥰 (0/3)
I love your use of color and the three explanations. They are visually interesting and helpful if you want to learn how to write in Thai. How you add your personal details into the mix to explain a word is often interesting and cute. Thank You.
I have been here for a year and all I know is hello and thank you in Thai 🤦🏽♀️but I have decided to make an effort to know at least a few more since I have one more year to go before going back to my country
I like your channel and these videos but I wish when you do the phrase examples you would phonetically spell out the thai words in English as well krap 😜
Just a reminder that if you want to learn to speak Thai, make sure it’s because you have a genuine love for the language and the culture. Don’t only learn it because you think the guys are cute. If you learn it for that reason only, you will probably get bored of learning the language and quit. So make sure it’s because you actually love the language ❤
Your videos have been helping me a lot to learn thai language. And I love how you explain things, how you talk and how you make it easier. My Thai students always saying wow when sometimes I speak Thai. I can communicate with them much easier now while teaching them English Language. Thanks a lot to you. 😁😁👍👏😉
As a native Thai person: Good luck trying to learn Thai cuz even I sucked ass when it came to the subject in school lol Honestly I don't remember most of the grammar stuff and I barely remember the order of the alphabets like seriously I performed better in English than Thai so uhhhh Yep
wow now i found that thai grammar is same as bahasa indonesia. Thanks for sharing this! Hopefully it'll be very helpful during my vacation in thailand :3
23:30 Nong, with a slight change in tone, seems to be some kind of "lake" or "park". Try getting to Nong Prajak park by asking where sister Prajak is. Folk really can't guess what mistake you're making. Well, ONE did!
ThaiPod101 admin, if you read these comments I would like to place two requests: 1. Please post a lesson dedicated to words sequence and sentence structure. 2. Please consider sharing a list of Thai words, much like SpanishPod101's 300/600/1300/etc. Word videos.
Thai seems freakin impossible and the writing system is hard a f too lol. The girl though seems sooo wholesome and beautiful. She's like wifey material ❤. I'd love Thai for her lol. I speak Korean at a high level like nearly fluent, so I could learn a few Thai phrases. What gets me is the tonal system and the writing system. Thai is Tonal right??? Nooo idea how to get that down.
I would be much happy if you could explain the meaning of each words like in "can you speak English" so you should have tell the meaning of "khun" "phuut" "phaa-sâa".... And so on that would have made it more clear to me and i will be abke to make sentences my self usin these words. I hope you understand my problem 😊
you saved me $20 baht off my motorbike taxi yesterday and I got a good laugh out of the thai guys. They give me Farang prices but with your phrase they knocked down the price a little. Thanks ! It WORKED!
Thanks for the videos, I'm from Mexico but I want to learn Thai, so I translate Thai to English, English to Spanish 😅 but I really love languages!! I love you videos
Andrea Mtz learn a more important language like Chinese or Japanese. Thailand is filthy and full of prostitutes. It’s also not economically important ☺️
Hearing the words while reading them in the center, then having to read them again in the corner. This is the way to go for learning thai words and picture them (forging a mental image of the words). Relying on use of non-thai phonetics systems is a waste of precious time. I did hate having only one or two students but me in the classroom wanting to learn how to read and write and only be presented with words written in english (I'm not a native english speaker) using latin alphabet biased phonetics... Funny videos like this are nice for practicing written words recognition and reviewing vocabulary. Thanks !
She is brilliant at this level of teaching, great personality to keep the learner engaged and very concise with the vocabulary and examples. Thank you very much teaching lady!
My best friend is from Thailand and I’m here coz I think it would be cool to be able to speak to her in her first language and we could talk and no one would know what we r saying hehe
I have absolutely no idea what the top comments are talking about. I want to learn Thai because a coworker of mine speaks it. I would like to be able to converse with her a little in her preferred tongue.
After learning Nihongo, I want to learn Thai language as well because of the The Idolmaster Side M song which is My Pen Light (Thailand ver.) they considered the Thai words in their lyrics such as Mai Penrai and Khap Khun khrap. So, I decided to learn it because for me it is a very interesting language.
I just started to learn Thai. I am using the text book Thai in a Nutshell. I am wondering shall I learn alphabet first or learn some phrases? It is really boring to read consonants again and again😢
