If we were to take it at face value, which is extremely difficult in the world of spookdom, Freddie Scappaticci was "Stakeknife." Now, if that was true, why did the IRA never pursue him and try to assassinate him? Because they either assassinated or attempted to assassinate, many other former members turned informers for the British security services. Yet, with Scappaticci, he was allowed to leave West Belfast and settle in England. There were plenty of opportunities to assassinate him. I think one of the possibilities the British government possibly entertains but not publicly is that he was an IRA mole inside the British intelligence services.

Yes good point, yet they all knew what we had for breakfast. We were one big chess board to be played, moved. Yet the game could have ended very quickly. One can how see secret services nearly got away with deciding who would be the next president of USA.
