Basically, all you have to do is look for mascaras without fibre in them, and, of course, look for mascaras that say, "Safe for contact lenses". Almay has them, Clinique has mascaras that are safe, Wet n Wild does, and I believe that Cover Girl does, as well!! Good luck!!🙂🙂✝️⚜️

Needs to mention the introduction of tubing mascara!!!!! (popularized in the 2000s with Kiss Me, not certain on when it was invented but I'm sure a magazine could research that). And eyelash extensions, and Latisse. And maybe the return of dramatic false lashes in Instagram makeup.
The name of mascara is of Algerian origin. In the mid-nineteenth century, the French discovered antimony powder in Algeria, in the region called Mascara. Indeed, the population used this powder as makeup. In memory of this region, we now take the name of mascara in our makeup tubes. It was already since Antiquity that the ancestor of the mascaras appeared on the faces of the Egyptians, Algerians and Romans. Obviously, this product was first drawn from the antimony powder. As a reminder, antimony is a black rock of African origin, which was ground to extract an eye drop called "kohl". Already at that time, Algerian nomadic tribes used antimony powder to heal and protect the eyes, and also to wear makeup. That one metal wand mascara, Helena Rubinstein Long Lash, is still available actually. And then Hourglass made an expensive rip off (but hey at least you can buy Hourglass wand on its own and use other better mascara formulas with it.)

The way I've heard it, it was actually Mabel who invented the coal+vaseline mix - her brother noticed her doing it, improved the ingredients a bit and marketed it, but it wasn't his idea.
Found this video while looking up the etymological root for superhero and Lucha libre wrestling masks -- because the word "máscara" apparently goes back to the Latin/Spanish word for "mask" or "stain" -- i.e. towards masquerade (and even modern day Lucha libre wrestling "masks" are still called exactly that). Makes sense with the decorative eyelines in said masks!
I still can't put on false lashes lol. You prob should also do a video on the history of using lash extensions or products that claim to make your lashes grow naturally. Heard castor oil also helps. I envy the men in my family who are born with naturally long lashes but they hate them lol

How about that trick where Korean makeup artists heat up thin wooden sticks with a lighter then use it to curl lashes? I thought that was a pretty huge trend in SK 😯😅🤓

Maybelline is awesome! I use it all the time to prep my lashes before using my Benefit mascara and to fix my eyebrows when I'm too lazy to use an eyebrow pencil.
Yup, they do! Back in the 70's and 80's, when the look for make up was mainly bare minimum, Cover Girl made a good one, along with a really good lipstick/liptint that stained your lips. I liked both products, though the liptint isn't made anymore. 🙂🙂✝️⚜️
