"just twist to pull the branch a little at a time and this way it won't break" SNAP! "well this is awkward" 😂 😂 😂 Most people would edit that out, thanks for keeping it real!

WOW, Jerome, this video just taught me ANOTHER trick that I had not heard before from any other bonsai channel. I had never heard of using a spritzer bottle to immediately spray the torched area to make it swell and blacken to give it an older look. THANK YOU. Also, you and your wife showed real class when that limb broke off. Instead of editing it out, you left it in and laughed about it. As I said.....real class. I'll tell you this; that limb was MEANT to break off. I do not believe in coincidences at all since 1969 when my guardian angel took physical form and shielded me from an exploding Chinese made rocket that hit no more than 15 feet from me and I didn't even feel a breeze. Those things carried 9 pounds of high explosives. Now, with that limb breaking off, you will produce an ever BETTER tree by using that stump piece. Even if you cut it all the way back to the trunk. You tree will be even better. Have a blessed day.

Congrats on 10k. You’ll be at 100k before you know it. I am 1 year into bonsai and trying to gain as much knowledge about bonsai as in can. Would you please explain the purpose of each ingredient in your bonsai soil. I am using a fired clay (kitty-drama) for water retention, a fine bark compost also for water retention and the organic properties, and aquarium gravel for drainage and to aid in air action. This mixture seems to be working for me. I realize there is no “magic” soil mixture, but the more I learn about the ingredient properties and why they are used, I might be able to improve on my mixture and make my trees healthier. There is always room improvement. I’ve learned a lot from viewing your videos. You and your wife are great together. Pleas keep the Great work. You are very much appreciated.

Good morning Jerome. I was gifted a dwarf arborvitae and I was wondering if that is something that is good for bonsai? And I was wondering if you had any tips for me. It's quite a large tree.

Simply beautiful. Nice for you to leave the mishap of breaking of the branch. Just one small thing. Won't it be better if you turn the tree slightly, anti-clockwise, to get a better look on the trunk profile. Thanks, once again.

mapsri hey Mapsri, thank you for your feedback. I like that the main big branch is hiding the trunk line a little bit but on the next repot I might tweak it a little bit

@WeareTheBonsaiSupply 5 лет назад
Chris Cosenza hey Chris, did you repot it too early in the year?
@chriscosenza7401
@chriscosenza7401 5 лет назад
Hey Jerome. No, we did it seven days before the convention. The night temps haven’t dipped below 70 in a month here. Moving her trees from organic into nonorganic for the first time is always a huge problem. My other bwood was repotted the same day and is flourishing. And I didn’t even remove any roots from Mary’s, it was just a slip pot essentially, very frustrating. Still alive, but had to cut off all growth that shriveled up. No new growth and it’s been almost three weeks.
@WeareTheBonsaiSupply
@WeareTheBonsaiSupply 5 лет назад
Chris Cosenza ugh 😑 very frustrating! The good thing is though that bw are very forgiving so with lots of water it should pop back and maybe keep it in the shade

Beautiful old tree! Congratulations on your channel's growth. I enjoy your videos - and now I am especially interested in hot weather bonsai care. I am moving from Philadelphia to New Orleans. Sadly, I will have to part with about 70% of my collection - spruces, pines and cedars that will never survive in zone 8/9. It will be fun to start working with new species. Do you have any experience with southern live oak/quercus virginiana as bonsai?
@WeareTheBonsaiSupply
@WeareTheBonsaiSupply 5 лет назад
Mark Mondrinos Hey Mark, thank you 🙏 I only have experience with Florida live oaks, which I believe is the same. They are very fast growers. You are going to have fun working on hot weather bonsai especially since they grow so fast 💨
