I live in S. California and we have had an unusually cold wet year and my Adenium is doing the exact same thing. I also did not know that they are poisonous. I will wear gloves from now on. Thank you for this very helpful video!
can you change up the music to compliment the beauty and zen of gardening a desert rose.. and maybe bring the volume down 20% ? for example i must turn my sound bar down to 9 to listen to the music but then back up to 15 to listen to your comment thanks
Hello, I enjoy watching your videos, can you tell me, Why do the roots on my desert Roses look shriveled up and unhealthy, like they are not retaining water? What am I doing wrong?
Jerome! Always a pleasure watching the bonsai supply! I have a question about the bonsai fertilizer I bought from the site. On the directions it say to apply for every 4 inches of pot. What does that mean? 4” in diameter? Or depth? How does that translate to bonsai pots?
I love your adenium bonsai, do you sell some arabicum varieties or do you recommend a shop where I can buy? I am living in Vancouver Canada is there any shop you know where I can order plants? I tried buying in amazon but no seeds or plant came. Thanks for your help🙏 Zena
My adenium caudex feels soft! I marked it today! The leaves are almost healthy except the one from the branches I had recently pruned! The leaves are small and their tips reddening. What should I do the save my plant? It would be great help!
Wow awesome. Love that you didn't even have to uproot. How would one be sure it hasn't gone down into root? I have been meaning to call you. The Desert Rose you started the Bonsai styling in April was getting brown soft spots where the wire crosses over., wish I had known about the limestone paste. I almost died when you cut back all the branches but it has beautiful shiny green leaves and nice blooms now. Not only that I have a seed pod! Where would I find the white limestone paste. I didn't see it on your website. Which one did you use in this video? Thank you for this very interesting and very informative video. What about stem rot? How do you avoid that. I have my Desert Roses in direct Sun and some stems have gotten water in them and have had to cut some tips off, Because of this I eventually put waterproof wood glue on branches you cut back because they all had little openings in the middle and I was concerned rain would get in and rot the whole plant. I don't care for how it looks with glue darker shade. Do you think it might be good idea to scrape glue end off and apply the limestone paste? Also do you leave your Desert Roses in full sun all day in our S. Florida heat? Tnx again
Wondering why my feedback didn’t get acknowledged? Didn’t mean to offend just honest feedback. I love how my Desert Rose is coming along just cince4nec about the bruising
Jerome, Great tip. Do you do an initial caudex chop to obtain a radial root pattern? I’m embarrassed to tell you how many poor desert roses I’ve killed trying to bonsai them. Thanks
Jerome, very helpful as usual, new to phoenix area and adenium horticulture. The sun is brutal in the summer, and you always refer to full sun, but after four hours, I am getting burnt leaves. any suggestions??
6 DIGIT-MENTORS it should not get burnt leaves. You might have your trees in the wrong soil. We use all purpose soil mix ⬇️ www.amazon.com/shop/wearethebonsaisupply
Hi, thanks for sharing. May I know whether the limestone paste that u are using is the same ingredient used for cooking? I checked with the nursery they have lime powder and lime sulphur. Are these the same? Thanks
Hi, I just treated my plant with the limestone paste. I have removed all the soil and will allow the plant to dry out for a week. May I know if there will be an issue if the dried limestone paste on the plant comes into contact with water after I repot? Thanks
I have white scale like pest eggs on my D Rose leaves. I've removed many leaves, it leaves a yellow spot on the top of the leaf and the leaf dies. What can I do? Can it be treated or should I defoliate? I live in Florida. I've sprayed with Bayer 3 in 1 insecticide so far for 2 days.
Hey William, I would remove all the leaves and put them in a ziplock bag before you toss them out. Spray the tree with Bayer 3in1 as it is a systemic and then continue to spray an insecticide every 30 days.
Hey Ricardo, lava pumice calcined clay and pine bark here are two links you can buy it from website: thebonsaisupply.com/collections/soil Amazon: Bonsai Soil All Purpose Mix | Fast Draining Pre Blend (2 Quart Bag) Plant | Pumice, Lava, Calcined Clay and Pine Bark ● Potting Pre Mixed Bonsai Plant Soil Mixture By The Bonsai Supply www.amazon.com/dp/B07M68B4JG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_37NhDbXX88V6Z
@@WeareTheBonsaiSupply Thank you for that info. I'm from central Europe, no real volcanoes around here... What would you recommend for replacing lava/pummice?
I use liquid bandage on adenium cuts... The same kind of liquid bandage we humans use on cuts and abrasions. Have you ever tried this method or heard of it?
Hey KY, I have never heard of it, but I will definitely give it a try. The reason why I don't use any liquid cut paste on Adeniums is because the cut can't breath and traps moisture which can rot the branches or trunk.
@@WeareTheBonsaiSupply After the root cuts, I spray all the cuts with Daconil Fungicide and let it dry for a few minutes. Then I apply the liquid bandage over the cuts and let that dry for 5-10 minutes before repotting. The liquid bandage is an antiseptic and seals the cut.
This method also works for propagation of adenium cuttings. I developed this method on my own as an experiment with much success. Let me know if it works for you. GOOD LUCK !!!
Take it out of the soil and hang it outdoors in a shaded area until that section is dried. Check out my crash course on Desert Roses i think you will find it very helpful. Here is the link: onlinebonsai.teachable.com/p/adeniumbootcamp
My Adenium has branch rot it’s eight years old the codex is big and healthy I prune the branches completely but since four five months now no new branches and leaves are appearing
