I had a chance to buy a 240Z Bob Sharp Racing Special back in 95. The car was mint and stored in a garage all its life. Only 14,000 miles, white with tan interior and it had a Bob Sharp intake, Bob Sharp valve cover, Bob Sharp wheels, Bob Sharp shifter, headlight covers front and rear spoiler, roll cage, stock seats a 5 speed and a/c. The first owner didn't like the Datsun white and had it painted a pearl white before it went to Bob Sharp. I offered $2800 when I looked at it. The owner wanted $4000. I was trying to get a deal. I found out the next day they only built 13 that year but the car sold the very next day for $4000. The owner said, "The guy bought it before I had the garage door opened." If I had only known what I was looking at that day.
Such great memories on the Z. I actually got taught to to drive on a pretty beat up Z240 by my host mom on student exchange on Cape Cod in 91. My groundschool principal in Germany also owned one which I came in early for just to watch him park it in front of school every morning.
In 1981 I went IMSA racing with a GTO team out of Long Beach Ca, and are driver was Sam Posey who was good friends with Paul. 1981 Paul drove this car and I even seen it up close and was friend with some of the crew on this car. Paul was A very nice person. With the all the people at the track. I was even invite to have drinks with team owner Fred Stiff, Sam Posey, And Paul and I turn it down with the other Mechanic Larry Finney from Mas,

I wanted an affordable classic that I could own and restore, but the Zs were too expensive for my budget. I ended up with a 1967 Triumph GT6, completely unaware that the Z was the competitor that killed off the model.
I have used ALOT of customautosound products and i will tell you the BIGGEST down fall..... no pre-outs for amplification which just sucks...no sub outs no nothing...a lot of my customers are not happy with just powering their system with just the deck itself...please add pre outs!
Agreed. I have the cheapest head unit they make, which in no way was cheap IMO, but it sure looks and feels like it. $25 head units have more options and are better made. Then again, perhaps they are trying to go for that more classic feel... ...where everything was made in the US, and as a result, cost more to produce.
