1000k Fortis ebike review

I review my 20" fat tyre Fortis ebike after 1000 kilometres of riding it on trails.
For A$800 it is a steal, and has held up well to daily riding, and also a heavy crash.
I use this ebike to ride 32k's to work and back several times a week along the Warburton Trail, and find this style of bike suits the gravel trails.
In this video, I ride from Mount Evelyn to Lilydale and back with my friend Clint, who is on his 350W ebike.

Thanks for this helpful video! I am doing some online shopping trying very hard to decide which one to pick. The Fortis bikes seem like a really great value for money (and the price is good!), though I think I'd go for the one with the regular tyres since I plan to bike on concrete paths etc for the most part. Very enjoyable review! Considering getting one for my wife. Your mate might want to consider putting his seat up a bit higher, I've been advised by both my physio and a remedial therapist that having a low seat like that can lead to a 'knee explosion' longer term, even if it may feel better short term (I was getting pain at the top of my knee). Might not be the same load on an ebike but over time he may have dramas.

@GregCarrick
@GregCarrick 2 года назад
I can get 35 kilometres out of the battery on the flat. That's riding fast using high assist settings. It takes about half a turn of the crank to get the assist to kick in. The whole bike weighs arond 32 kg's so it's a bit of a weight to try to pedal uphill to start. But after the first half a turn the motor helps you. Also, it does have shimano gears, so have it in first gear when you start pedalling anyway.

If you are riding a legal ebike and get hit by a car or a bus or whatever we can make an insurance claim for injuries and medical treatment. If the bike is not legal, you can forget that.
