Questions:
00:00 Intro
01:38 Did you face any adversity in trying to ground your theoretical thesis project in the real world?
04:11 In the real world, do you still get to use that conceptual part of your brain?
05:14 Does the choice of different universities (arch school) matter?
05:38 Being not so good with software, what is the best site to learn from and how did you find the software that best suits your workflow?
07:16 Do we need a good diploma in architecture to work in a successful company, or do they value work quality more (like my portfolio or work during the internship?)
08:19 How did you deal with burnout as a student?
11:30 Work-life balance. As a student, was the workload manageable? How about as a working professional?
17:00 My question is about your long-term goals and plans as an architect. When you're an architect already, what else exactly is there to aim for?
18:05 How was your life at the architecture school? Did you join in other activities along with school?
20:12 How do you choose your job after the internship and exams?
22:24 And could you possibly work at the architecture firm you worked for in the past?
23:42 Do you have any advice for students studying architecture in one country, wanting to work in another country?
25:03 Do you find the job fulfilling? Do you specialize in a type of architecture, and if so which one(s)?
27:58 Can architects make a meaningful social impact?
30:31 If one day your youtube career outranks your architecture career I mean from money, clients, fulfillment, freedom, and even pressure... Would you continue to be an architect or be a full-time RU-vidr?
33:08 How you can manage your time between your work and video editing?
35:46 If you could go back 10 years and give yourself 1 piece of advice, architecture or youtube related, which would it be?
40:45 What other creative projects interest you outside of architecture?
43:15 What are some things you do to keep yourself inspired?

Recently discovered your channel. I have to say that you gave me a bit of push to shift my focus back to architecture as I have been a little lost career-wise. It's a long story if I explain further. Bottom line, you inspired me to get back into learning new things as an architect and focusing on the aspects that I like about architecture. I really liked the idea of journaling and answering the three questions you mentioned. As someone who's been struggling in terms of career direction, I think this would be extremely helpful in determining at least an idea of where I want my career to go in the future. I will definitely try it! Thanks for the idea.

Dami!! I know this a delayed comment but I loved all of this video! I'm in the field of healing art, but my second choice was always interior design and/or architecture as I get so excited about intentional spacial surroundings. So you are where I get to indulge in that part of myself with out totally ditching my current career path which I am also lovingly passionate about. Also, I will absolutely listen to your future podcast! Listening to you talk is always inspiring and soothing to me. ❤️❤️❤️

I also see libraries as a sort of sacred space for the mind. All the human energy and potential locked up in those books! It takes a lot of thought and energy to write and publish a book. They should have a space that honors that energy but also makes you love books. When I was little they had a library with a private reading space above the main floor that had a winding staircase that you went up to and it was above the main floor. You entered a room with stain glass windows and rows of reading tables, you know the old solid long hardwood tables with sturdy chairs and reading lamps. flanked by stacks on the side of the room. The sun would stream through the windows and it was like a sacred sanctuary for me! I spent a lot of summer days there reading great books. It was my cathedral. That was a space that I truly loved. Thanks for sharing.

Can you answer a question I have please? I am in college and this is my 1st year? Is it true that if I become an architect designer that you don't only work on sketching buildings and houses but with that licence could I also work as an interior designer?

Women have traditionally shaped the domestic environment in their role as homemakers!!Current views on the proper role of Architecture are divided between those who consider it an artistic act and those who construe it primarily as a social endeavor.Depending on the view taken, women's work in Architecture may be considered conservative or progressive, but it must be kept in mind that it is still too early to make wholesale comparisons between achievements of men and women in Architecture from the perspective of artistic and theoretical creation,as the general conditions for this kind of production have not yet been facilitated for women in our society! Helpmate,Supportive Model (of women as "adjuncts"in the profession)in the role in which women have always been best known and most accepted ".so grateful for your RU-vid videos!!WE NEED TO CHALLENGE, ACTIVELY THE WOMAN'S TRADITIONAL PLACE IN THE HOUSE, IN THE HOME! Woman's experience of the home not her performance, was the most important issue to study, even though her problems might be difficult to calculate, fatigue from over work, nervousness due to real deal dangers, loneliness from isolation!Analyzed the HOME from the Perspective of the Women who worked and lived there!!!my mother was my inspiration!she was my first designer to learned from!in my highschool years I found a book about Julia Morgan!I know you familiar with her work,,the first woman to be accepted by Beaux Arts/French Architecture school!it change my life!in my home island hardly you can find a book about ARCHITECTURE!!I was blessed to find books to read!!!I hope one day you will be a pritzker prize!!!THANKS

Do you think rooms create energy or the people in the room bring energy into the space? I love libraries because books to me are journeys. Does the author feel what I feel. Can he take me somewhere I long to go. Does he have concerns or connect with me in some way that I care about. I admire the way that you carefully talk about you care about. That you slow down enough to present your words thoughtfully. Sometimes because I am passionate about something I blurt out emotions more than carefully clear sentences in a calmer manner. I am seeing that value of saying less but saying it more thoughtfully and taking into consideration who is listening. Thank you for your inspiration.

My sister didn't quite make it into architecture at UBC (after her complete -ing UBC arts degree ) but did manage to get into building bcit fulfilling her dream. She is allowed to design homes under 5000 square feet without having architectural licensing...conversly, another friend, also going to Bcit, managed to get credentials and accreditation as a bonafide architect only because he was so talented and a rare case.

Hello, Ms. Dami! I'm an architecture undergrad student currently studying in the Philippines. I've taken a great amount of interest in your work, especially in your Master's Thesis project. I was wondering if you could discuss more comprehensively about the exact nature of spatial design in relation to a user-based experience? I would also like to ask if you are familiar with this architectural theory I recently stumbled upon called the "Aleatoric Milieu" which also highlights the importance of proxemics and navigation-design in space planning. I was wondering if you could give any thoughts or discussions regarding this theory, as I trust that it is in your expertise and it would be interesting to hear your ideas about it. Thanks and I wish you all the best and more power to your content!

Thanks! Thanks! Dami…, Call me Domi, rhyme to remember…? I just want to appreciate, let you know, your work impacted me, I’m inspired. I’m not sure my “grandma” would decipher your intellectual presentations…! May be you didn’t expect this, but it’s not criticism, as much as it is to draw attention to why I’m inspired. I would love to be as professional and intelligent in my presentations… but ultimately, I intend to venture into projects impacting the general public (community). I originate from Africa… Do you see why my “grandma,” comes to mind? …and no, Africa isn’t a big forest only… there’re cities, as good and developed, to international level, just they’re still too few - and not thinking of my “grandma” at the “grass thatched roof,” architecture, and essentially public work would go to naughty! …Things like deforestation, communication, transportation, unfortunately are still huge factors even in remote parts… How can architecture, or your immense organizational skills help mitigate some of these challenges? …Dami, hope to sing “Urie … Tongil” together, some day…!

First congratulations to the first ¹/₁₀ of 1 Million subscribers! This is well deserved! 🤗💐 2nd. about your thesis: Right after watching your video I went to Amazon in the hope to be able to buy a copy! Then I like to address something you talked about in another video because I find it very important! I found your channel only a few days ago, but enjoyed quite a number of videos. What I especially enjoyed besides excellent content is the pleasing flow of your well articulated narration! I "binge watched" while drawing many hours on a project where I have to adjust and correct. I use a screen tablet which I have sometimes to lure, cajole or...threaten to do what I want. I.e. I have to concentrate! Only videos with a very good narration are suited for that! When I "rested my screen burdened eyes on the other screen that displayed your video I really enjoyed the way you support your narration with gestures! You use them to accentuate and it looks smart and creates a lively atmosphere and you do it in a way that retains the calm you create with your voice! I write this because you referred to denigrating comments about your narration and your gestures in the video about dealing with criticism. I already commented about the, in my view, questionable motives of these commenters. Now I want you to know that your presentation are excellent! These trolls talk about their own reflections on their screens because they don't know how to turn it on! I don't have a tv (it interferes with enjoyment of thinking...) RU-vid channels like yours is "my tv". Across a wide variety of subjects I see time and again youtuber who stand out through kindness, thoughtfulness, and engaging interaction who face precisely the kind of comments you talked about! Notable is that the attacks aim not at the content but at the person! It is about looks, voice, *hairstyle, voice, speech impairments, to give a sample. *I'm not joking! A commenter felt entitled to demand a specific hair length! Should there be things in the multiverse that attract the interest of these people, the content of the videos below which they "relieve" their comments, is not among them...
